¹蝗災的異象主耶和華向我這樣顯示：看哪！替王收割之後，田產又開始生長時，主造出一群蝗蟲。

¹Thus the Lord Jehovah showed me: and, behold, he formed locusts in the beginning of the shooting up of the latter growth; and, lo, it was the latter growth after the king's mowings.

²蝗蟲吃盡地上的農產時，我說：“主耶和華啊！求你寬恕，因雅各太弱小，怎能站立得住呢？”

²And it came to pass that, when they made an end of eating the grass of the land, then I said, O Lord Jehovah, forgive, I beseech thee: how shall Jacob stand? for he is small.

³耶和華對這事改變心意，耶和華說：“這事不會發生。”

³Jehovah repented concerning this: It shall not be, saith Jehovah.

⁴火燄的異象主耶和華向我這樣顯示：看哪！主耶和華召來刑罰的火，燒毀廣大的深淵和以色列的地業。

⁴Thus the Lord Jehovah showed me: and, behold, the Lord Jehovah called to content by fire; and it devoured the great deep, and would have eaten up the land.

⁵因此我對主耶和華說：“求你停止吧！因雅各太弱小，怎能站立得住呢？”

⁵Then said I, O Lord Jehovah, cease, I beseech thee: how shall Jacob stand? for he is small.

⁶耶和華對這事改變心意。主耶和華說：“這事也不會發生。”

⁶Jehovah repented concerning this: this also shall not be, saith the Lord Jehovah.

⁷準繩的異象他向我這樣顯示：看哪！主站在一道按準繩建造的牆旁邊，手裡拿著準繩。

⁷Thus he showed me: and, behold, the Lord stood beside a wall made by a plumb-line, with a plumb-line in his hand.

⁸耶和華對我說：“阿摩司，你看見甚麼？”我回答：“我看見準繩。”主又說：“看哪！我把準繩放在我民以色列中間，必不再放過他們。

⁸And Jehovah said unto me, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A plumb-line. Then said the Lord, Behold, I will set a plumb-line in the midst of my people Israel; I will not again pass by them any more;

⁹以撒的各邱壇必荒廢，以色列所有的聖所必廢棄；我必起來用刀擊殺耶羅波安家。”

⁹and the high places of Isaac shall be desolate, and the sanctuaries of Israel shall be laid waste; and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.

¹⁰亞瑪謝控告阿摩司伯特利的祭司亞瑪謝派人向以色列王耶羅波安報告：“阿摩司在以色列家中圖謀背叛你，這國家不能容忍他說的話；

¹⁰Then Amaziah the priest of Beth-el sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, Amos hath conspired against thee in the midst of the house of Israel: the land is not able to bear all his words.

¹¹因為阿摩司這樣說：‘耶羅波安必死在刀下，以色列必被擄，離開本國。’”

¹¹For thus Amos saith, Jeroboam shall die by the sword, and Israel shall surely be led away captive out of his land.

¹²亞瑪謝對阿摩司說：“你這個先見，走吧！滾回猶大地去；在那裡你可以找食，在那裡你可以說預言。

¹²Also Amaziah said unto Amos, O thou seer, go, flee thou away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there:

¹³但不要再在伯特利說預言，因為這裡是王的聖所，是王國的聖殿。”

¹³but prophesy not again any more at Beth-el; for it is the king's sanctuary, and it is a royal house.

¹⁴先知的見證與預言阿摩司回答亞瑪謝說：“我原不是先知，也不是先知的門徒；我本是牧人，是修理桑樹的，

¹⁴Then answered Amos, and said to Amaziah, I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet's son; but I was a herdsman, and a dresser of sycomore-trees:

¹⁵但耶和華選召我，叫我不再跟隨羊群；他對我說：‘你去，向我民以色列說預言。’

¹⁵and Jehovah took me from following the flock, and Jehovah said unto me, Go, prophesy unto my people Israel.

¹⁶現在你要聽耶和華的話；因為你說：‘不要說預言攻擊以色列，不要說攻擊以撒家的話。’

¹⁶Now therefore hear thou the word of Jehovah: Thou sayest, Prophesy not against Israel, and drop not [thy word] against the house of Isaac;

¹⁷所以，耶和華這樣說：‘你妻子必在城中作妓女，你的兒女必倒在刀下；你的土地必被人量度瓜分，你自己必死在不潔之地；以色列必被擄，離開本國。’”

¹⁷therefore thus saith Jehovah: Thy wife shall be a harlot in the city, and thy sons and thy daughters shall fall by the sword, and thy land shall be divided by line; and thou thyself shalt die in a land that is unclean, and Israel shall surely be led away captive out of his land.
