1The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
2亞伯拉罕生以撒，以撒生雅各，雅各生猶大和他的兄弟，
2Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judah and his brethren;
3他瑪給猶大生了法勒斯和謝拉，法勒斯生希斯崙，希斯崙生亞蘭，
3and Judah begat Perez and Zerah of Tamar; and Perez begat Hezron; and Hezron begat Ram;
4亞蘭生亞米拿達，亞米拿達生拿順，拿順生撒門，
4and Ram begat Amminadab; and Amminadab begat Nahshon; and Nahshon begat Salmon;
5喇合給撒門生了波阿斯，路得給波阿斯生了俄備得，俄備得生耶西，
5and Salmon begat Boaz of Rahab; and Boaz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse;
6耶西生大衛王。烏利亞的妻子給大衛生了所羅門，
6and Jesse begat David the king. And David begat Solomon of her [that had been the wife] of Uriah;
7所羅門生羅波安，羅波安生亞比雅，亞比雅生亞撒，
7and Solomon begat Rehoboam; and Rehoboam begat Abijah; and Abijah begat Asa;
8亞撒生約沙法，約沙法生約蘭，約蘭生烏西雅，
8and Asa begat Jehoshaphat; and Jehoshaphat begat Joram; and Joram begat Uzziah;
9烏西雅生約坦，約坦生亞哈斯，亞哈斯生希西家，
9and Uzziah begat Jotham; and Jotham begat Ahaz; and Ahaz begat Hezekiah;
10希西家生瑪拿西，瑪拿西生亞們，亞們生約西亞，
10and Hezekiah begat Manasseh; and Manasseh begat Amon; and Amon begat Josiah;
11猶太人被擄到巴比倫的時候，約西亞生耶哥尼雅和他的兄弟。
11and Josiah begat Jechoniah and his brethren, at the time of the carrying away to Babylon.
12被擄到巴比倫以後，耶哥尼雅生撒拉鐵，撒拉鐵生所羅巴伯，
12And after the carrying away to Babylon, Jechoniah begat Shealtiel; and Shealtiel begat Zerubbabel;
13所羅巴伯生亞比玉，亞比玉生以利亞敬，以利亞敬生亞所，
13and Zerubbabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor;
14亞所生撒督，撒督生亞金，亞金生以律，
14and Azor begat Sadoc; and Sadoc begat Achim; and Achim begat Eliud;
15以律生以利亞撒，以利亞撒生馬但，馬但生雅各，
15and Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob;
16雅各生約瑟，就是馬利亞的丈夫；那稱為基督的耶穌，是馬利亞所生的。
16and Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
17這樣，從亞伯拉罕到大衛，一共是十四代；從大衛到被擄到巴比倫的時候，也是十四代；從被擄到巴比倫的時候到基督，又是十四代。
17So all the generations from Abraham unto David are fourteen generations; and from David unto the carrying away to Babylon fourteen generations; and from the carrying away to Babylon unto the Christ fourteen generations.
18耶穌基督的降生（路2:1~7）耶穌基督的降生是這樣的：耶穌的母親馬利亞許配了約瑟，他們還沒有成親，馬利亞就從聖靈懷了孕。
18Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.
19她丈夫約瑟是個義人，不願張揚使她受辱，就打算暗中與她解除婚約。
19And Joseph her husband, being a righteous man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily.
20他一直想著這些事，主的使者就在夢中向他顯現，說：“大衛的子孫約瑟，只管放膽把你的妻子馬利亞迎娶過來，因為她懷的孕是從聖靈來的。
20But when he thought on these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.
21她必生一個兒子，你要給他起名叫耶穌，因為他要把自己的子民從罪惡中拯救出來。”
21And she shall bring forth a son; and thou shalt call his name JESUS; for it is he that shall save his people from their sins.
22這整件事的發生，是要應驗主藉著先知所說的：
22Now all this is come to pass, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying,
23“必有童女懷孕生子，他的名要叫以馬內利。”以馬內利就是“ 神與我們同在”的意思。
23Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, And they shall call his name Immanuel; which is, being interpreted, God with us.
24約瑟睡醒了，就照著主的使者所吩咐的，把妻子迎娶過來；
24And Joseph arose from his sleep, and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took unto him his wife;
25只是在孩子出生以前，並沒有與她同房。約瑟給孩子起名叫耶穌。
25and knew her not till she had brought forth a son: and he called his name JESUS.
