18

1南北兩國聯合攻打拉末(王上22:1~4)約沙法的財富很多,極有尊榮,他和亞哈也結了親。
1Now Jehoshaphat had riches and honor in abundance; and he joined affinity with Ahab.
2過了幾年,他下到撒瑪利亞去見亞哈。亞哈為他和跟從他的人宰了很多牛羊,又慫恿他一同上去攻打基列的拉末。
2After certain years he went down to Ahab to Samaria. Ahab killed sheep and cattle for him in abundance, and for the people who were with him, and moved him to go up with him to Ramoth Gilead.
3以色列王亞哈問猶大王約沙法:“你願意和我一同到基列的拉末去嗎?”他回答:“你我不分彼此;我的人民就是你的人民;我必和你一同作戰。”
3Ahab king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat king of Judah, “Will you go with me to Ramoth Gilead?” He answered him, “I am as you are, and my people as your people. We will be with you in the war.”
4以色列的假先知都預言戰勝(王上22:5~12)約沙法對以色列王說:“請你先求問耶和華的話。”
4Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, “Please inquire first for the word of Yahweh.”
5於是以色列王召集了四百位先知,問他們:“我們可以到基列的拉末去作戰嗎?還是不要去呢?”他們回答:“你可以上去, 神必把那城交在王的手裡。”
5Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, four hundred men, and said to them, “Shall we go to Ramoth Gilead to battle, or shall I forbear?” They said, “Go up; for God will deliver it into the hand of the king.”
6約沙法問:“這裡不是還有一位耶和華的先知嗎?我們也可以向他求問。”
6But Jehoshaphat said, “Isn’t there here a prophet of Yahweh besides, that we may inquire of him?”
7以色列王回答約沙法說:“還有一個人,我們可以向他求問耶和華;只是我不喜歡他,因為他對我說的預言,都是凶話,不是吉話。這人就是音拉的兒子米該雅。”約沙法說:“王不要這樣說。”
7The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “There is yet one man by whom we may inquire of Yahweh; but I hate him, for he never prophesies good concerning me, but always evil. He is Micaiah the son of Imla.” Jehoshaphat said, “Don’t let the king say so.”
8於是以色列王召了一個太監來,說:“快去把音拉的兒子米該雅召來。”
8Then the king of Israel called an officer, and said, “Get Micaiah the son of Imla quickly.”
9那時,以色列王和猶大王約沙法各自坐在王位上,穿著朝服,坐在撒瑪利亞城門口的廣場上;所有的先知都在他們面前說預言。
9Now the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah sat each on his throne, arrayed in their robes, and they were sitting in an open place at the entrance of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets were prophesying before them.
10基拿拿的兒子西底家自己做了些鐵角,說:“耶和華這樣說:‘你要用這些鐵角牴觸亞蘭人,直到把他們完全消滅。’”
10Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made him horns of iron, and said, “Thus says Yahweh, ‘With these you shall push the Syrians, until they are consumed.’”
11所有的先知也都這樣預言說:“你可以上基列的拉末去,必得勝利!因為耶和華必把那城交在王的手裡。”
11All the prophets prophesied so, saying, “Go up to Ramoth Gilead, and prosper; for Yahweh will deliver it into the hand of the king.”
12只有米該雅預言戰敗(王上22:13~23)那去召米該雅的使者對米該雅說:“看哪,這裡的眾先知都異口同聲地對王說吉話,請你與他們一樣說吉話。”
12The messenger who went to call Micaiah spoke to him, saying, “Behold, the words of the prophets declare good to the king with one mouth. Let your word therefore, please be like one of theirs, and speak good.”
13米該雅說:“我指著永活的耶和華起誓,我的 神說甚麼,我就說甚麼。”
13Micaiah said, “As Yahweh lives, what my God says, that will I speak.”
14米該雅來到王那裡,王問他:“米該雅啊,我們可以到基列的拉末作戰嗎?還是不要去呢?”他回答:“可以上去,一定得勝,他們必交在你們手裡。”
14When he had come to the king, the king said to him, “Micaiah, shall we go to Ramoth Gilead to battle, or shall I forbear?” He said, “Go up, and prosper. They shall be delivered into your hand.”
15王對他說:“我要囑咐你多少次,你才會奉耶和華的名對我只說真話呢?”
15The king said to him, “How many times shall I adjure you that you speak to me nothing but the truth in the name of Yahweh?”
16米該雅說:“我看見以色列人四散在山上,好像沒有牧人的羊群一樣。耶和華說:‘這些人既然沒有主人,使他們平平安安各自回家去吧!’”
16He said, “I saw all Israel scattered on the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd. Yahweh said, ‘These have no master. Let them return every man to his house in peace.’”
17以色列王對約沙法說:“我不是早告訴你,他對我說的預言,總沒有吉話,只說凶話嗎?”
17The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “Didn’t I tell you that he would not prophesy good concerning me, but evil?”
18米該雅說:“所以你們要聽耶和華的話。我看見耶和華坐在寶座上,天上的萬軍侍立在他左右。
18Micaiah said, “Therefore hear the word of Yahweh: I saw Yahweh sitting on his throne, and all the army of heaven standing on his right hand and on his left.
19耶和華說:‘誰去引誘以色列王亞哈上去,好使他倒斃在基列的拉末呢?’有人這樣說,也有人那樣說。
19Yahweh said, ‘Who shall entice Ahab king of Israel, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth Gilead?’ One spoke saying in this way, and another saying in that way.
20後來有一個靈出來,站在耶和華面前,說:‘我去引誘他。’耶和華問他:‘你怎樣引誘他呢?’
20A spirit came out, stood before Yahweh, and said, ‘I will entice him.’ “Yahweh said to him, ‘How?’
21他回答:‘我要出去,在他眾先知的口裡成為謊言的靈。’耶和華說:‘你必能引誘他,並且可以成功;你去這樣行吧。’
21“He said, ‘I will go forth, and will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.’ “He said, ‘You will entice him, and will prevail also. Go forth, and do so.’
22所以現在耶和華把謊言的靈放在你這些先知的口裡,並且耶和華已宣告災禍必臨到你。”
22“Now therefore, behold, Yahweh has put a lying spirit in the mouth of these your prophets; and Yahweh has spoken evil concerning you.”
23米該雅受辱被囚(王上22:24~28)基拿拿的兒子西底家走前來,打米該雅的臉,說:“耶和華的靈是怎樣離開了我,去與你說話呢?”
23Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near, and struck Micaiah on the cheek, and said, “Which way did the Spirit of Yahweh go from me to speak to you?”
24米該雅說:“你進密室躲藏的那一天,就必看見了。”
24Micaiah said, “Behold, you shall see on that day, when you shall go into an inner room to hide yourself.”
25以色列王說:“把米該雅帶回去,交給市長亞們和王的兒子約阿施,
25The king of Israel said, “Take Micaiah, and carry him back to Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king’s son;
26說:‘王這樣吩咐:把這人囚在監裡,少給他食物和水,直到我平平安安回來。’”
26and say, ‘Thus says the king, “Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I return in peace.”’”
27米該雅說:“如果你真的可以平平安安回來,那麼耶和華就沒有藉著我說話了。”他又說:“眾民啊,你們都要聽!”
27Micaiah said, “If you return at all in peace, Yahweh has not spoken by me.” He said, “Listen, you peoples, all of you!”
28亞哈陣亡(王上22:29~35)於是,以色列王和猶大王約沙法上基列的拉末去了。
28So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramoth Gilead.
29以色列王對約沙法說:“我要改裝上陣,你可以仍穿朝服。”於是以色列王改了裝,他們就上陣去了。
29The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “I will disguise myself, and go into the battle; but you put on your robes.” So the king of Israel disguised himself; and they went into the battle.
30原來亞蘭王曾經吩咐他的戰車隊長說:“無論是大小的將兵,你們都不要和他們交戰,只管攻擊以色列王。”
30Now the king of Syria had commanded the captains of his chariots, saying, “Fight neither with small nor great, except only with the king of Israel.”
31眾戰車隊長看見約沙法,就都心裡說:“這必是以色列王。”於是都繞過去攻擊他。約沙法呼救,耶和華就幫助他; 神又使敵人離開他。
31It happened, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, “It is the king of Israel!” Therefore they turned around to fight against him. But Jehoshaphat cried out, and Yahweh helped him; and God moved them to depart from him.
32眾戰車隊長見他不是以色列王,就轉回去,不再追擊他了。
32It happened, when the captains of the chariots saw that it was not the king of Israel, that they turned back from pursuing him.
33有一人隨意拉弓,竟射進了以色列王的鎧甲中間的縫隙裡。王對駕車的說:“你把車轉過來,載我出陣吧,因為我受了重傷。”
33A certain man drew his bow at random, and struck the king of Israel between the joints of the armor. Therefore he said to the driver of the chariot, “Turn your hand, and carry me out of the army; for I am severely wounded.”
34那天戰事越來越激烈;以色列王勉強站在戰車上,對抗亞蘭人,直到黃昏。日落的時候,王就死了。
34The battle increased that day. However the king of Israel propped himself up in his chariot against the Syrians until the evening; and about the time of the going down of the sun, he died.
