1與埃及結盟必受禍害耶和華說：“這些悖逆的兒女有禍了！他們實行計謀，卻不是出於我的意思，他們結盟，卻不是出於我的靈，以致罪上加罪。
1“Woe to the rebellious children,” says Yahweh, “who take counsel, but not from me; and who make an alliance, but not with my Spirit, that they may add sin to sin,
2他們起程下埃及去，並沒有求問我，卻要在法老的保護下，作避難處，投靠在埃及的蔭庇下。
2who set out to go down into Egypt, and have not asked my advice; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to take refuge in the shadow of Egypt!
3因此，法老的保護必成為你們的羞恥，投靠在埃及的蔭庇下，變成你們的恥辱。
3Therefore the strength of Pharaoh will be your shame, and the refuge in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.
4他們的領袖雖然已在瑣安，他們的使臣雖然已到達哈內斯，
4For their princes are at Zoan, and their ambassadors have come to Hanes.
5但他們都必因那對於他們毫無利益的人民而蒙羞，那人民帶來的不是幫助或益處，而是羞恥和凌辱。”
5They shall all be ashamed because of a people that can’t profit them, that are not a help nor profit, but a shame, and also a reproach.”
6以下是論南地野獸的默示：他們把財富馱在驢駒的背上，把寶物馱在駱駝的峰上，經過艱難困苦之地，就是公獅、母獅、蝮蛇和會飛的火蛇出沒的地方，到一個對他們毫無益處的民族那裡去。
6The burden of the animals of the South. Through the land of trouble and anguish, of the lioness and the lion, the viper and fiery flying serpent, they carry their riches on the shoulders of young donkeys, and their treasures on the humps of camels, to an unprofitable people.
7埃及的幫助是徒然的，是虛幻的，因此我稱它為“坐而不動的拉哈伯”。
7For Egypt helps in vain, and to no purpose; therefore have I called her Rahab who sits still.
8悖逆不聽聖言的子民現在你去，在他們面前把這話刻在版上，記在書卷上，作日後的證據，直到永永遠遠。
8Now go, write it before them on a tablet, and inscribe it in a book, that it may be for the time to come forever and ever.
9因為這是悖逆的子民，不忠心的兒女，不肯聽從耶和華教導的兒女。
9For it is a rebellious people, lying children, children who will not hear the law of Yahweh;
10他們對先見說：“你們不要再看異象！”又對先知說：“你們不要再向我說真確的預言！倒要向我說動聽的話，預言虛幻的事吧！
10who tell the seers, “Don’t see!” and to the prophets, “Don’t prophesy to us right things. Tell us pleasant things. Prophesy deceits.
11你們要離開正道，轉離義路，不要在我們面前再提以色列的聖者了！”
11Get out of the way. Turn aside from the path. Cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.”
12因此，以色列的聖者這樣說：“因為你們棄絕了這話，反而信賴欺壓和乖僻的手段，更以此為倚靠，
12Therefore thus says the Holy One of Israel, “Because you despise this word, and trust in oppression and perverseness, and rely on it;
13所以這罪孽對於你們，必像一道有了裂縫，且凸了出來，快要倒塌的高牆，在頃刻之間，就突然倒塌。
13therefore this iniquity shall be to you like a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking comes suddenly in an instant.
14它的倒塌好像窯匠的瓦器破碎一般，毫不顧惜被徹底粉碎，甚至在碎塊中找不到一塊，可以用來從爐裡取火，或從池中舀水。”
14He will break it as a potter’s vessel is broken, breaking it in pieces without sparing, so that there won’t be found among the broken piece a piece good enough to take fire from the hearth, or to dip up water out of the cistern.”
15因為主耶和華以色列的聖者這樣說：“你們得救在於悔改和安息，你們得力在於平靜和信靠。”但你們竟不願意。
15For thus said the Lord Yahweh, the Holy One of Israel, “You will be saved in returning and rest. Your strength will be in quietness and in confidence.” You refused,
16你們卻說：“不！我們要騎馬奔跑。”所以你們真的要逃跑；你們又說：“我們要騎快馬。”所以那些追趕你們的，也必快速！
16but you said, “No, for we will flee on horses”; therefore you will flee; and, “We will ride on the swift”; therefore those who pursue you will be swift.
17一個敵人就可以威嚇你們一千個人，若五個敵人威嚇你們，你們都要逃跑了！以致你們所剩下的，必孤立如同山頂上的旗杆，岡陵上的旗幟。
17One thousand will flee at the threat of one. At the threat of five, you will flee until you are left like a beacon on the top of a mountain, and like a banner on a hill.
18等候 神的必蒙眷顧因此，耶和華必等候要恩待你們；他必興起來憐憫你們，因為耶和華是公義的 神。等候他的，都是有福的。
18Therefore Yahweh will wait, that he may be gracious to you; and therefore he will be exalted, that he may have mercy on you, for Yahweh is a God of justice. Blessed are all those who wait for him.
19錫安的人民、耶路撒冷的居民哪！你們必不再哭泣。他必因你哀求的聲音恩待你；他聽見的時候，就必應允你。
19For the people will dwell in Zion at Jerusalem. You will weep no more. He will surely be gracious to you at the voice of your cry. When he hears you, he will answer you.
20主雖然以艱難給你們當食物，以困迫給你們當水，但你的教師必不再隱藏；你必親眼看見你的教師。
20Though the Lord may give you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet your teachers won’t be hidden anymore, but your eyes will see your teachers;
21每當你偏左或偏右的時候，你必聽見後面有聲音說：“這是正路，要行在其中！”
21and when you turn to the right hand, and when you turn to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way. Walk in it.”
22你要拋棄你那些包著銀的雕像和鍍了金的鑄像，如同污穢之物一般拋棄它們，又對它們說：“去吧！”
22You shall defile the overlaying of your engraved images of silver, and the plating of your molten images of gold. You shall cast them away as an unclean thing. You shall tell it, “Go away!”
23你撒在地裡的種子，主必降雨在其上，並且使你地裡所出產的糧食，既豐盛又肥美。到那日，你的牲畜必在寬闊的草場上吃草。
23He will give the rain for your seed, with which you will sow the ground; and bread of the increase of the ground will be rich and plentiful. In that day, your livestock will feed in large pastures.
24耕地的牛和驢駒必吃加鹽的飼料，就是用鏟和叉所揚淨的。
24The oxen likewise and the young donkeys that till the ground will eat savory provender, which has been winnowed with the shovel and with the fork.
25在大行殺戮的日子，高臺倒塌的時候，各高山岡陵都必有溪水湧流。
25There shall be brooks and streams of water on every lofty mountain and on every high hill in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall.
26耶和華包紮他子民的傷口，醫治他們傷痕的日子，月亮的光必像太陽的光；太陽的光必增加七倍，像七日的光一樣。
26Moreover the light of the moon will be like the light of the sun, and the light of the sun will be seven times brighter, like the light of seven days, in the day that Yahweh binds up the fracture of his people, and heals the wound they were struck with.
27 神懲罰亞述看哪！耶和華的名從遠方而來，他的怒氣燒起，濃煙上騰；他的嘴唇充滿忿怒，他的舌頭像吞滅的火。
27Behold, the name of Yahweh comes from far away, burning with his anger, and in thick rising smoke. His lips are full of indignation, and his tongue is as a devouring fire.
28他的氣息如漲溢的河水，直漲到頸項，並要用毀滅的篩把列國篩淨，又在眾民口中放入使人步向滅亡的嚼環。
28His breath is as an overflowing stream that reaches even to the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of destruction; and a bridle that leads to ruin will be in the jaws of the peoples.
29你們卻必歌唱，好像守聖節的夜間一樣；你們必心裡喜樂，好像吹著笛行走的人，必上耶和華的山，到以色列的磐石那裡。
29You will have a song, as in the night when a holy feast is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one goes with a flute to come to Yahweh’s mountain, to Israel’s Rock.
30耶和華必使人聽見他威嚴的聲音，在烈怒、吞滅一切火燄、大雨、暴風和冰雹之中，又使人看見他那降下來的膀臂。
30Yahweh will cause his glorious voice to be heard, and will show the descent of his arm, with the indignation of his anger, and the flame of a devouring fire, with a blast, storm, and hailstones.
31亞述人必因耶和華的聲音驚惶；耶和華要用杖擊打他們。
31For through the voice of Yahweh the Assyrian will be dismayed. He will strike him with his rod.
32耶和華必把刑罰的杖加在他們身上，每打一下，都有擊鼓和彈琴的聲音；耶和華在爭戰的時候，必揮動著手與他們爭戰。
32Every stroke of the rod of punishment, which Yahweh will lay on him, will be with the sound of tambourines and harps. He will fight with them in battles, brandishing weapons.
33因為陀斐特那燒著的火早已安排好了，是為君王預備的，又深又寬；其中所堆的，是火和許多的柴；耶和華的氣像一股硫磺火，把它燃點起來。
33For his burning place has long been ready. Yes, for the king it is prepared. He has made its pyre deep and large with fire and much wood. Yahweh’s breath, like a stream of sulfur, kindles it.
