1耶和華對以色列的愛不能生育、沒有生養過孩子的啊！你要歡呼。沒有生產過的啊！你要發聲歡呼，高聲呼喊。因為棄婦比有夫之婦有更多兒子。這是耶和華說的。
1“Sing, barren, you who didn’t bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, you who did not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife,” says Yahweh.
2要擴張你帳幕的地方，伸展你居所的幔子，不要限制；要拉長你的繩索，堅固你的橛子。
2“Enlarge the place of your tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of your habitations; don’t spare: lengthen your cords, and strengthen your stakes.
3因為你要向南向北擴展，你的後裔必佔有列國之地，又使荒廢了的城鎮有人居住。
3For you shall spread out on the right hand and on the left; and your seed shall possess the nations, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited.
4不要懼怕，因為你必不致蒙羞；也不要抱愧，因為你必不致受辱，你必忘記你幼年時的羞愧，也不再記念你寡居時的恥辱。
4“Don’t be afraid; for you shall not be ashamed: neither be confounded; for you shall not be disappointed: for you shall forget the shame of your youth; and the reproach of your widowhood you shall remember no more.
5因為造你的，就是你的丈夫；萬軍之耶和華是他的名；救贖你的，就是以色列的聖者；他被稱為全地的 神。
5For your Maker is your husband; Yahweh of Armies is his name: and the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; the God of the whole earth shall he be called.
6因為耶和華召喚你，如同召喚被離棄、心靈憂傷的妻子，就是幼年時所娶卻被棄絕的妻子；這是你的 神說的。
6For Yahweh has called you as a wife forsaken and grieved in spirit, even a wife of youth, when she is cast off,” says your God.
7我只是暫時離棄你，卻以極大的憐憫把你招聚回來。
7“For a small moment have I forsaken you; but with great mercies will I gather you.
8在怒氣漲溢的時候，我暫時向你掩面，卻要以永遠的慈愛憐憫你；這是耶和華你的救贖主說的。
8In overflowing wrath I hid my face from you for a moment; but with everlasting loving kindness will I have mercy on you,” says Yahweh your Redeemer.
9這事對我就好像挪亞時代的洪水一般；我怎樣起誓不再使挪亞時代的洪水漫過大地，我也照樣起誓不向你發怒，也不斥責你。
9“For this is like the waters of Noah to me; for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah shall no more go over the earth, so have I sworn that I will not be angry with you, nor rebuke you.
10雖然大山可以挪開，小山可以遷移，但我的慈愛必不從你身上挪開，我和平的約也必不遷移；這是憐憫你的耶和華說的。
10For the mountains may depart, and the hills be removed; but my loving kindness shall not depart from you, neither shall my covenant of peace be removed,” says Yahweh who has mercy on you.
11耶路撒冷將來的景況受困苦、被風飄蕩、不得安慰的啊！你看，我要用彩色的石頭安置你的基石，以藍寶石奠定你的根基。
11“You afflicted, tossed with storms, and not comforted, behold, I will set your stones in beautiful colors, and lay your foundations with sapphires.
12又用紅寶石做你的城樓，用紅玉做你的城門，用各種寶石做你四周的圍牆。
12I will make your pinnacles of rubies, and your gates of sparkling jewels, and all your walls of precious stones.
13你所有的兒女都必受耶和華的教導，你的兒女必大享平安。
13All your children shall be taught of Yahweh; and great shall be the peace of your children.
14你必因公義得以堅立；你必遠離欺壓，你必無所懼怕；你也必遠離驚嚇，因為驚嚇必不會臨近你。
14In righteousness you shall be established: you shall be far from oppression, for you shall not be afraid; and from terror, for it shall not come near you.
15看哪！必有人起來攻擊你，但那不是出於我；攻擊你的，必因你仆倒。
15Behold, they may gather together, but not by me: whoever shall gather together against you shall fall because of you.
16看哪！那吹炭火、打造出合用武器的鐵匠，是我創造的；那殘害人、行毀滅的，也是我創造的。
16“Behold, I have created the smith who blows the fire of coals, and brings forth a weapon for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy.
17為攻擊你而製成的武器，都沒有效用；在審判的時候興起來與你爭辯的舌頭，你都必定它為有罪。這是耶和華眾僕人的產業，他們的義是從我而得；這是耶和華說的。
17No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of Yahweh, and their righteousness which is of me,” says Yahweh.
