1兩筐無花果的比喻巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒把猶大王約雅敬的兒子耶哥尼雅，和猶大的眾領袖、工匠與鐵匠從耶路撒冷擄到巴比倫去。這事以後，耶和華使我看見在耶和華的殿前面擺著兩筐無花果。
1Yahweh showed me, and behold, two baskets of figs set before Yahweh’s temple, after that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, and the princes of Judah, with the craftsmen and smiths, from Jerusalem, and had brought them to Babylon.
2一筐是極好的無花果，像初熟的無花果；另一筐是極壞的無花果，壞到不能吃。
2One basket had very good figs, like the figs that are first-ripe; and the other basket had very bad figs, which could not be eaten, they were so bad.
3於是耶和華問我：“耶利米啊，你看見甚麼？”我回答：“我看見無花果。那些好的無花果極好，壞的卻極壞，壞到不能吃。”
3Then Yahweh said to me, What do you see, Jeremiah? I said, Figs; the good figs, very good; and the bad, very bad, that can’t be eaten, they are so bad.
4好無花果耶和華的話臨到我，說：
4The word of Yahweh came to me, saying,
5“耶和華以色列的 神這樣說：‘被擄去的猶大人，就是我打發離開這地方到迦勒底人之地去的，我必看他們如同這些好的無花果一樣，眷顧他們。
5Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel: Like these good figs, so will I regard the captives of Judah, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans, for good.
6我必關注他們，眷顧他們，領他們歸回這地。我必建立他們，必不拆毀；我必栽植他們，必不拔除。
6For I will set my eyes on them for good, and I will bring them again to this land: and I will build them, and not pull them down; and I will plant them, and not pluck them up.
7我必賜給他們一顆認識我的心，知道我就是耶和華；他們要作我的子民，我要親自作他們的 神，因為他們必一心歸向我。’”
7I will give them a heart to know me, that I am Yahweh: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God; for they shall return to me with their whole heart.
8壞無花果“但耶和華這樣說：‘我怎樣處置那些壞到不能吃的壞無花果，我也必照樣對待猶大王西底家、他的眾領袖和耶路撒冷的餘民，不論是餘剩在這地的，或是住在埃及地的。
8As the bad figs, which can’t be eaten, they are so bad, surely thus says Yahweh, So will I give up Zedekiah the king of Judah, and his princes, and the residue of Jerusalem, who remain in this land, and those who dwell in the land of Egypt,
9我必使他們成為地上萬國所驚恐、所討厭的；在我趕逐他們到的各地方，成為被人羞辱、譏笑、嘲弄、咒詛的對象。
9I will even give them up to be tossed back and forth among all the kingdoms of the earth for evil; to be a reproach and a proverb, a taunt and a curse, in all places where I shall drive them.
10我必打發刀劍、饑荒、瘟疫去攻擊他們，直到他們從我賜給他們和他們列祖的土地上都消滅了。’”
10I will send the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, among them, until they be consumed from off the land that I gave to them and to their fathers.
