1假先知哈拿尼雅當年，就是猶大王西底家開始執政的第四年五月，基遍人押朔的兒子哈拿尼雅先知，在耶和華殿中，當著祭司和眾民的面前對我說：
1It happened the same year, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the fourth year, in the fifth month, that Hananiah the son of Azzur, the prophet, who was of Gibeon, spoke to me in the house of Yahweh, in the presence of the priests and of all the people, saying,
2“萬軍之耶和華以色列的 神這樣說：‘我已經折斷了巴比倫王的軛。
2Thus speaks Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, saying, I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon.
3在兩年之內，我必把耶和華殿中的一切器皿，就是巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒從這地方掠到巴比倫去的，都帶回這地方。
3Within two full years will I bring again into this place all the vessels of Yahweh’s house, that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took away from this place, and carried to Babylon:
4我也必把猶大王約雅敬的兒子耶哥尼雅，和所有被擄到巴比倫去的猶大人，都帶回這地方，因為我必折斷巴比倫王的軛。’這是耶和華的宣告。”
4and I will bring again to this place Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, with all the captives of Judah, who went to Babylon, says Yahweh; for I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.
5耶利米先知當著祭司和站在耶和華殿裡的眾民面前，對哈拿尼雅先知說：
5Then the prophet Jeremiah said to the prophet Hananiah in the presence of the priests, and in the presence of all the people who stood in the house of Yahweh,
6“阿們！願耶和華這樣行，願耶和華使你預言的話應驗，把耶和華殿中的器皿和所有被擄的人，都從巴比倫帶回這地方來。
6even the prophet Jeremiah said, Amen: Yahweh do so; Yahweh perform your words which you have prophesied, to bring again the vessels of Yahweh’s house, and all them of the captivity, from Babylon to this place.
7不過，你應該聽我向你和眾民耳中所說的這話。
7Nevertheless hear you now this word that I speak in your ears, and in the ears of all the people:
8自古以來，在你我以前的先知，已經預言有戰爭、災禍和瘟疫要臨到許多地方和強國。
8The prophets who have been before me and before you of old prophesied against many countries, and against great kingdoms, of war, and of evil, and of pestilence.
9但預言平安的先知，除非他的話應驗，人才會承認他確實是耶和華所差遣的先知。”
9The prophet who prophesies of peace, when the word of the prophet shall happen, then shall the prophet be known, that Yahweh has truly sent him.
10於是哈拿尼雅先知把耶利米先知頸項上的軛取下來，折斷了。
10Then Hananiah the prophet took the bar from off the prophet Jeremiah’s neck, and broke it.
11哈拿尼雅又當著眾民面前說：“耶和華這樣說：‘兩年之內，我必這樣從列國的頸項上，折斷巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒的軛。’”於是耶利米先知就走了。
11Hananiah spoke in the presence of all the people, saying, Thus says Yahweh: Even so will I break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon within two full years from off the neck of all the nations. The prophet Jeremiah went his way.
12哈拿尼雅先知把耶利米先知頸項上的軛折斷了以後，耶和華的話就臨到耶利米，說：
12Then the word of Yahweh came to Jeremiah, after that Hananiah the prophet had broken the bar from off the neck of the prophet Jeremiah, saying,
13“你去告訴哈拿尼雅說：‘耶和華這樣說：你折斷了木軛，卻要換來鐵軛。
13Go, and tell Hananiah, saying, Thus says Yahweh: You have broken the bars of wood; but you have made in their place bars of iron.
14因為萬軍之耶和華以色列的 神這樣說：我要把鐵軛套在這些國家的頸項上，使他們服事巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒；他們要服事他，連田野的走獸，我也交給他了。’”
14For thus says Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel: I have put a yoke of iron on the neck of all these nations, that they may serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; and they shall serve him: and I have given him the animals of the field also.
15耶利米先知就對哈拿尼雅先知說：“哈拿尼雅啊！你要聽，耶和華並沒有差遣你，你竟使這人民信靠謊言。
15Then the prophet Jeremiah said to Hananiah the prophet, Hear now, Hananiah: Yahweh has not sent you; but you make this people to trust in a lie.
16因此耶和華這樣說：‘看哪！我必使你離開人世；你今年一定死，因為你說了悖逆耶和華的話。’”
16Therefore thus says Yahweh, Behold, I will send you away from off the surface of the earth: this year you shall die, because you have spoken rebellion against Yahweh.
17這樣，在當年七月，哈拿尼雅先知就死了。
17So Hananiah the prophet died the same year in the seventh month.
