1約拿禱告約拿從魚腹中向耶和華他的 神禱告，
1Then Jonah prayed to Yahweh, his God, out of the fish’s belly.
2說：“我從患難中求告耶和華，他就應允我；我從陰間的深府呼求，你就垂聽我的聲音。
2He said, “I called because of my affliction to Yahweh. He answered me. Out of the belly of Sheol Sheol is the place of the dead. I cried. You heard my voice.
3你把我投入深海，在海洋的深處，大水環繞我；你的洪濤、你的波浪，都漫過我。
3For you threw me into the depths, in the heart of the seas. The flood was all around me. All your waves and your billows passed over me.
4我說：‘我雖從你眼前被趕逐，我仍要仰望你的聖殿。’
4I said, ‘I have been banished from your sight; yet I will look again toward your holy temple.’
5眾水包圍我，幾乎置我於死地；深淵環繞我；海草纏裹我的頭。
5The waters surrounded me, even to the soul. The deep was around me. The weeds were wrapped around my head.
6我下沉直到山麓，大地的門閂把我永遠關閉；耶和華我的 神啊！你卻把我的性命從坑中拉上來。
6I went down to the bottoms of the mountains. The earth barred me in forever: yet have you brought up my life from the pit, Yahweh my God.
7當我心靈疲弱時，我就思念耶和華；我的禱告直達你面前，進入你的聖殿。
7“When my soul fainted within me, I remembered Yahweh. My prayer came in to you, into your holy temple.
8那敬奉虛妄之偶像的人，實在是離棄了憐愛他們的 神（“憐愛他們的 神”原文作“他們的恩典”）。
8Those who regard lying vanities forsake their own mercy.
9至於我，我要帶著感謝的聲音向你獻祭；我所許的願，我必償還。救恩是屬於耶和華的。”
9But I will sacrifice to you with the voice of thanksgiving. I will pay that which I have vowed. Salvation belongs to Yahweh.”
10於是耶和華吩咐那魚，魚就把約拿吐在陸地上。
10Yahweh spoke to the fish, and it vomited out Jonah on the dry land.
