¹彌賽亞出自猶大的伯利恆女子啊！現在你要聚集成隊；仇敵正在圍攻我們；他們用杖擊打以色列執政的臉頰。（本節在《馬索拉抄本》為4:14）

¹Now you shall gather yourself in troops, daughter of troops. He has laid siege against us. They will strike the judge of Israel with a rod on the cheek.

²伯利恆以法他啊！你在猶大諸城中雖然細小（“伯利恆……細小”有古卷作“以法他家啊，你在猶大諸族中雖然細小”），必有一位從你那裡出來，為我作以色列的統治者；他的根源從太初，從亙古就有了。（本節在《馬索拉抄本》為5:1）

²But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, being small among the clans of Judah, out of you one will come forth to me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting.

³因此，耶和華必把以色列人交給敵人，直到那要生產的婦人生下兒子來；那時，他其餘的兄弟，就必歸回以色列人那裡。

³Therefore he will abandon them until the time that she who is in labor gives birth. Then the rest of his brothers will return to the children of Israel.

⁴君王與遺民的地位與功用他必站立起來，靠著耶和華的能力，靠著耶和華他　神之名的威嚴，牧養他的羊群；他們必然安居，因為那時他必尊大，直到地極。

⁴He shall stand, and shall shepherd in the strength of Yahweh, in the majesty of the name of Yahweh his God: and they will live, for then he will be great to the ends of the earth.

⁵這就是那帶來太平的。亞述人入侵我們的國土，踐踏我們宮殿的時候，我們就要興起七個牧者；八個作領袖的人攻擊他。

⁵He will be our peace when Assyria invades our land, and when he marches through our fortresses, then we will raise against him seven shepherds, and eight leaders of men.

⁶他們必用刀劍治理亞述地，必用劍鋒治理寧錄地；亞述人入侵我們的國土，踐踏我們境界的時候，他必拯救我們脫離亞述人的手。

⁶They will rule the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in its gates. He will deliver us from the Assyrian, when he invades our land, and when he marches within our border.

⁷那時，雅各的餘民，必在許多民族中，像從耶和華那裡降下的露水，又像甘霖降在草上，不期望於人，也不等候世人。

⁷The remnant of Jacob will be in the midst of many peoples, like dew from Yahweh, like showers on the grass, that don’t wait for man, nor wait for the sons of men.

⁸那時雅各的餘民，必在萬國中，在許多民族裡，像樹林裡百獸中的獅子，又像幼獅在羊群中；他若經過，就必踐踏、撕碎，沒有人可以拯救。

⁸The remnant of Jacob will be among the nations, in the midst of many peoples, like a lion among the animals of the forest, like a young lion among the flocks of sheep; who, if he goes through, treads down and tears in pieces, and there is no one to deliver.

⁹制勝敵人願你的手舉起高過你的敵人，願你的一切仇敵都被剪除。

⁹Let your hand be lifted up above your adversaries, and let all of your enemies be cut off.

¹⁰耶和華說：“到那日，我必從你中間剪除你的馬匹，毀滅你的車輛，

¹⁰“It will happen in that day,” says Yahweh, “That I will cut off your horses out of the midst of you, and will destroy your chariots.

¹¹拆毀你國中的城市，傾覆你的一切保障；

¹¹I will cut off the cities of your land, and will tear down all your strongholds.

¹²我必從你的手中除掉巫術，你那裡就不再有占卜的；

¹²I will destroy witchcraft from your hand; and you shall have no soothsayers.

¹³我必從你中間除掉你雕刻的偶像和柱像，你就不再跪拜你手所做的；

¹³I will cut off your engraved images and your pillars out of your midst; and you shall no more worship the work of your hands.

¹⁴我必從你中間除滅你的亞舍拉，毀滅你的偶像。

¹⁴I will uproot your Asherim out of your midst; and I will destroy your cities.

¹⁵我必在忿怒和烈怒中，向那些不聽從的列國施行報復。”

¹⁵I will execute vengeance in anger, and wrath on the nations that didn’t listen.”
