¹信心使我们胜过世界

¹Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God. Whoever loves the Father also loves the child who is born of him.

²我们若爱　神，并且遵行他的命令，就知道我们是爱　神的儿女了。

²By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep his commandments.

³我们遵守　神的命令，就是爱他了；而且他的命令是不难遵守的，

³For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. His commandments are not grievous.

⁴因为凡从　神生的就胜过世界。使我们胜过世界的，就是我们的信心。

⁴For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world: your faith.

⁵胜过世界的是谁呢？不就是那信耶稣是　神的儿子的吗？

⁵Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

⁶　神为他儿子作的见证那借着水和血来的就是耶稣基督，不是单用水，而是用水又用血；作见证的是圣灵，因为圣灵就是真理。

⁶This is he who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ; not with the water only, but with the water and the blood. It is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.

⁷原来作见证的有三样，

⁷For there are three who testify Only a few recent manuscripts add “in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one. And there are three that testify on earth” :

⁸就是圣灵、水和血，这三样是一致的。

⁸the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and the three agree as one.

⁹我们若接受人的见证，　神的见证就更强而有力了，因为这是　神为他的儿子作的见证。

⁹If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater; for this is God’s testimony which he has testified concerning his Son.

¹⁰信　神的儿子的，就有这见证在他心里；不信　神的，就是把　神当作说谎的，因为他不信　神为他儿子所作的见证。

¹⁰He who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself. He who doesn’t believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning his Son.

¹¹这见证就是　神已经把永远的生命赐给我们，这生命是在他儿子里面的。

¹¹The testimony is this, that God gave to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

¹²凡有　神儿子的，就有生命；没有　神儿子的，就没有生命。

¹²He who has the Son has the life. He who doesn’t have God’s Son doesn’t have the life.

¹³要照　神的旨意祈求我把这些事写给你们信　神的儿子之名的人，是要你们知道自己有永生。

¹³These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.

¹⁴如果我们照着　神的旨意祈求，他必听我们；这就是我们对　神所存的坦然无惧的心。

¹⁴This is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us.

¹⁵既然他听我们的祈求，我们就知道，我们无论求什么，他必赐给我们。

¹⁵And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him.

¹⁶如果有人看见弟兄犯了不至于死的罪，他就要祈求，　神必因他的缘故，把生命赐给那些犯了不至于死的罪的人；有至于死的罪，我不说他应当为那罪祈求。

¹⁶If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and God will give him life for those who sin not leading to death. There is a sin leading to death. I don’t say that he should make a request concerning this.

¹⁷一切不义都是罪，但也有不至于死的罪。

¹⁷All unrighteousness is sin, and there is a sin not leading to death.

¹⁸我们知道凡从　神生的就不犯罪，而且从　神生的那一位也必保守他，连那恶者也不能碰他。

¹⁸We know that whoever is born of God doesn’t sin, but he who was born of God keeps himself, and the evil one doesn’t touch him.

¹⁹我们知道我们是属于　神的，而整个世界是伏在那恶者手下。

¹⁹We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.

²⁰我们知道　神的儿子已经来了，并且赐给我们悟性，使我们能认识那位真实者。我们也在那位真实者里面，就是在他儿子耶稣基督里面。这一位就是真神，也是永远的生命。

²⁰We know that the Son of God has come, and has given us an understanding, that we know him who is true, and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

²¹孩子们，你们要保守自己远离偶像。

²¹Little children, keep yourselves from idols.
