¹责备人民拖延重建圣殿

¹In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the month, the Word of Yahweh “Yahweh” is God’s proper Name, sometimes rendered “LORD” (all caps) in other translations. came by Haggai, the prophet, to Zerubbabel, the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua, the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, saying,

²“万军之耶和华这样说：‘这民说，重建耶和华殿宇的时候还没有到。’”

²“This is what Yahweh of Armies says: These people say, ‘The time hasn’t yet come, the time for Yahweh’s house to be built.’”

³于是，耶和华的话临到哈该先知说：

³Then the Word of Yahweh came by Haggai, the prophet, saying,

⁴“这殿宇仍然荒废，岂是你们住在有天花板的房屋的时候吗？”

⁴“Is it a time for you yourselves to dwell in your paneled houses, while this house lies waste?

⁵现在万军之耶和华这样说：“你们要反省自己的行为。

⁵Now therefore this is what Yahweh of Armies says: Consider your ways.

⁶你们撒的种多，收割的却少；你们吃，却吃不饱；你们喝，却喝不足；你们穿衣服，却穿不暖；得工钱的，却把工钱放在破袋里。”

⁶You have sown much, and bring in little. You eat, but you don’t have enough. You drink, but you aren’t filled with drink. You clothe yourselves, but no one is warm, and he who earns wages earns wages to put them into a bag with holes in it.”

⁷劝勉人民动工重建万军之耶和华这样说：“你们要反省自己的行为。

⁷This is what Yahweh of Armies says: “Consider your ways.

⁸你们要上山取木材，建造殿宇；我必因此喜悦，并且得荣耀。”耶和华说：

⁸Go up to the mountain, bring wood, and build the house. I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified,” says Yahweh.

⁹“你们期望丰收，反倒歉收；你们收到家里的，我就吹去。”为什么呢？万军之耶和华说：“因为我的殿宇荒废，你们各人却为自己的房屋奔驰。

⁹“You looked for much, and, behold, it came to little; and when you brought it home, I blew it away. Why?” says Yahweh of Armies, “Because of my house that lies waste, while each of you is busy with his own house.

¹⁰所以，因你们的缘故，天就不降甘露，地也不出土产。

¹⁰Therefore for your sake the heavens withhold the dew, and the earth withholds its fruit.

¹¹我叫干旱临到大地、群山、五谷、新酒、新油、地上的出产、人畜和人手劳碌得来的一切。”

¹¹I called for a drought on the land, on the mountains, on the grain, on the new wine, on the oil, on that which the ground brings forth, on men, on livestock, and on all the labor of the hands.”

¹²劝勉的果效那时，撒拉铁的儿子所罗巴伯、约撒答的儿子大祭司约书亚和所有余剩的子民，都听从了耶和华他们　神的话，听从了耶和华他们　神所差来的哈该先知的话。众民在耶和华面前都存着敬畏的心。
