1以实玛利刺杀基大利
1Now it happened in the seventh month, that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, the son of Elishama, of the seed royal and one of the chief officers of the king, and ten men with him, came to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam to Mizpah; and there they ate bread together in Mizpah.
2尼探雅的儿子以实玛利和与他一起的那十个人就起来，用刀袭击沙番的孙子、亚希甘的儿子基大利，就是巴比伦王指派管理那地的，把他杀掉。
2Then arose Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and the ten men who were with him, and struck Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan with the sword, and killed him, whom the king of Babylon had made governor over the land.
3以实玛利也击杀了所有在米斯巴和基大利一起的犹大人，以及在那里所遇见的迦勒底军兵。
3Ishmael also killed all the Jews who were with him, with Gedaliah, at Mizpah, and the Chaldeans who were found there, the men of war.
4他杀了基大利以后，没有人知道；第二天，
4It happened the second day after he had killed Gedaliah, and no man knew it,
5有八十个人从示剑、示罗和撒玛利亚前来，胡须剃去，衣服撕裂，身体割破，手里拿着素祭和乳香，要带到耶和华的殿里去。
5that there came men from Shechem, from Shiloh, and from Samaria, even eighty men, having their beards shaved and their clothes torn, and having cut themselves, with meal offerings and frankincense in their hand, to bring them to the house of Yahweh.
6尼探雅的儿子以实玛利从米斯巴出来迎接他们，边走边哭，遇见了他们，就对他们说：“请你们来见亚希甘的儿子基大利！”
6Ishmael the son of Nethaniah went forth from Mizpah to meet them, weeping all along as he went: and it happened, as he met them, he said to them, Come to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam.
7他们到了城中，尼探雅的儿子以实玛利和与他一起的人，就把他们杀了，扔在坑里。
7It was so, when they came into the midst of the city, that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah killed them, and cast them into the midst of the pit, he, and the men who were with him.
8只是他们中间有十个人却对以实玛利说：“请不要杀死我们！因为我们有许多小麦、大麦、油和蜜，埋藏在田间。”他就住了手，没有把这十个人在他们的兄弟中一同杀死。
8But ten men were found among those who said to Ishmael, Don’t kill us; for we have stores hidden in the field, of wheat, and of barley, and of oil, and of honey. So he stopped, and didn’t kill them among their brothers.
9以实玛利把他们所击杀的人的尸体全部扔在坑里（他杀这些人是因为基大利的缘故）；这坑是从前亚撒王为了防御以色列王巴沙而挖掘的。尼探雅的儿子以实玛利用那些被杀的人的尸体填满了那坑。
9Now the pit in which Ishmael cast all the dead bodies of the men whom he had killed, by the side of Gedaliah (the same was who which Asa the king had made for fear of Baasha king of Israel), Ishmael the son of Nethaniah filled it with those who were killed.
10以实玛利还掳去所有留在米斯巴的余民，包括王的众公主和所有留在米斯巴的人民；这些人都是护卫长尼布撒拉旦交给亚希甘的儿子基大利管理的。尼探雅的儿子以实玛利把他们掳走，往亚扪那里去。
10Then Ishmael carried away captive all the residue of the people who were in Mizpah, even the king’s daughters, and all the people who remained in Mizpah, whom Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had committed to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam; Ishmael the son of Nethaniah carried them away captive, and departed to go over to the children of Ammon.
11约哈难救回被掳的人加利亚的儿子约哈难和与他一起的众将领，听见了尼探雅的儿子以实玛利所行的一切恶事，
11But when Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces who were with him, heard of all the evil that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah had done,
12就率领所有的人，去攻打尼探雅的儿子以实玛利，在基遍的大水池边追上他。
12then they took all the men, and went to fight with Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and found him by the great waters that are in Gibeon.
13在以实玛利那里的众民，看见了加利亚的儿子约哈难和与他一起的众将领，就都欢喜。
13Now it happened that, when all the people who were with Ishmael saw Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces who were with him, then they were glad.
14于是以实玛利从米斯巴掳去的众民都转身，归到加利亚的儿子约哈难那里。
14So all the people who Ishmael had carried away captive from Mizpah turned about and came back, and went to Johanan the son of Kareah.
15尼探雅的儿子以实玛利带着八个人逃脱了约哈难的手，到亚扪那里去。
15But Ishmael the son of Nethaniah escaped from Johanan with eight men, and went to the children of Ammon.
16加利亚的儿子约哈难和与他一起的众将领，就夺回了全部余民，包括军兵、妇女、孩童和宫中的臣宰，就是尼探雅的儿子以实玛利在刺杀亚希甘的儿子基大利以后，从米斯巴掳走的。约哈难把这些人都从基遍带回来。
16Then took Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces who were with him, all the remnant of the people whom he had recovered from Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, from Mizpah, after that he had killed Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the men of war, and the women, and the children, and the eunuchs, whom he had brought back from Gibeon:
17他们去到伯利恒附近的基罗特金罕，停留在那里，想要往埃及去，
17and they departed, and lived in Geruth Chimham, which is by Bethlehem, to go to enter into Egypt,
18躲避迦勒底人。他们惧怕迦勒底人，因为尼探雅的儿子以实玛利杀了巴比伦王指派管理那地的亚希甘的儿子基大利。
18because of the Chaldeans; for they were afraid of them, because Ishmael the son of Nethaniah had killed Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, whom the king of Babylon made governor over the land.
