1David therefore departed thence, and escaped to the cave Adullam: and when his brethren and all his father's house heard it, they went down thither to him.
1大衛藏於亞杜蘭洞大衛離開那裡，逃到亞杜蘭洞。他哥哥們和他父親的全家聽到了，就都下到他那裡去。
2And every one that was in distress, and every one that was in debt, and every one that was discontented, gathered themselves unto him; and he became a captain over them: and there were with him about four hundred men.
2凡是受窘迫的、負債的、心裡不滿的，都聚集到大衛那裡，他就成了他們的領袖。那時，跟從他的約有四百人。
3And David went thence to Mizpeh of Moab: and he said unto the king of Moab, Let my father and my mother, I pray thee, come forth, and be with you, till I know what God will do for me.
3大衛從那裡到摩押的米斯巴去，對摩押王說：“求你容許我父母來住在你們這裡，直到我知道 神要為我作甚麼。”
4And he brought them before the king of Moab: and they dwelt with him all the while that David was in the hold.
4於是大衛把他們留在摩押王那裡。大衛住在山寨的日子有多久，他父母也與摩押王同住多久。
5And the prophet Gad said unto David, Abide not in the hold; depart, and get thee into the land of Judah. Then David departed, and came into the forest of Hareth.
5迦得先知對大衛說：“你不要留在山寨，要到猶大地去。”大衛就離開那裡，往哈列的森林去了。
6When Saul heard that David was discovered, and the men that were with him, (now Saul abode in Gibeah under a tree in Ramah, having his spear in his hand, and all his servants were standing about him;)
6掃羅責備不忠之臣掃羅聽見發現了大衛和跟從他的人的行蹤。那時掃羅在基比亞坐在山上一棵垂柳樹下，手中拿著槍，眾臣僕侍立在他周圍。
7Then Saul said unto his servants that stood about him, Hear now, ye Benjamites; will the son of Jesse give every one of you fields and vineyards, and make you all captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds;
7掃羅就對侍立在他周圍的臣僕說：“便雅憫人哪，你們要聽！耶西的兒子能把田地和葡萄園賜給你們各人嗎？他能立你們各人作千夫長、作百夫長嗎？
8That all of you have conspired against me, and there is none that showeth me that my son hath made a league with the son of Jesse, and there is none of you that is sorry for me, or showeth unto me that my son hath stirred up my servant against me, to lie in wait, as at this day?
8你們竟都同謀陷害我。我的兒子與耶西的兒子立盟約的時候，沒有人告訴我；我的兒子挑唆我的臣僕陷害我，就像今天一樣，你們中間也沒有人關心我，告訴我。”
9Then answered Doeg the Edomite, which was set over the servants of Saul, and said, I saw the son of Jesse coming to Nob, to Ahimelech the son of Ahitub.
9那時以東人多益與掃羅的臣僕侍立在那裡，他回答說：“我曾看見耶西的兒子到了挪伯亞希突的兒子亞希米勒那裡。
10And he inquired of the LORD for him, and gave him victuals, and gave him the sword of Goliath the Philistine.
10亞希米勒為他求問耶和華，給他糧食，又把非利士人歌利亞的刀給他。”
11Then the king sent to call Ahimelech the priest, the son of Ahitub, and all his father's house, the priests that were in Nob: and they came all of them to the king.
11多益殺害挪伯眾祭司掃羅就派人去把亞希突的兒子，亞希米勒祭司和他父親的全家，就是在挪伯的眾祭司，都召了來；他們眾人都來見王。
12And Saul said, Hear now, thou son of Ahitub. And he answered, Here I am, my lord.
12掃羅說：“亞希突的兒子啊！你要聽。”他回答：“我主啊！我在這裡。”
13And Saul said unto him, Why have ye conspired against me, thou and the son of Jesse, in that thou hast given him bread, and a sword, and hast inquired of God for him, that he should rise against me, to lie in wait, as at this day?
13掃羅對他說：“你為甚麼與耶西的兒子合謀陷害我？把食物和刀給他，又為他求問 神，使他起來陷害我，就像今天一樣呢？”
14Then Ahimelech answered the king, and said, And who is so faithful among all thy servants as David, which is the king's son in law, and goeth at thy bidding, and is honorable in thine house?
14亞希米勒回答王說：“在你所有的臣僕中，有誰像大衛那樣忠心呢？他是王的女婿，又是你的衛隊的隊長，並且在你朝中是受敬重的。
15Did I then begin to inquire of God for him? be it far from me: let not the king impute any thing unto his servant, nor to all the house of my father: for thy servant knew nothing of all this, less or more.
15我豈是今天才開始為他求問 神的呢？絕對不是。請王不要歸罪於我和我父的全家，因為這整件事無論大小，我都不知道。”
16And the king said, Thou shalt surely die, Ahimelech, thou, and all thy father's house.
16王說：“亞希米勒啊！你和你父的全家都是該死的。”
17And the king said unto the footmen that stood about him, Turn, and slay the priests of the LORD: because their hand also is with David, and because they knew when he fled, and did not show it to me. But the servants of the king would not put forth their hand to fall upon the priests of the LORD.
17王就對侍立在他周圍的衛兵說：“你們轉過去，把耶和華的祭司殺死，因為他們與大衛攜手，又因為他們知道大衛逃跑，也不告訴我。”但王的臣僕不願下手殺害耶和華的祭司。
18And the king said to Doeg, Turn thou, and fall upon the priests. And Doeg the Edomite turned, and he fell upon the priests, and slew on that day fourscore and five persons that did wear a linen ephod.
18於是王對多益說：“你轉過去把祭司擊殺。”以東人多益就轉過去把祭司擊殺了。那一天，他殺了八十五個穿以弗得的人，
19And Nob, the city of the priests, smote he with the edge of the sword, both men and women, children and sucklings, and oxen, and asses, and sheep, with the edge of the sword.
19又用刀擊殺了祭司城挪伯，無論男女，孩童或吃奶的嬰兒，牛驢或羊，都用刀殺盡。
20And one of the sons of Ahimelech the son of Ahitub, named Abiathar, escaped, and fled after David.
20亞比亞他投奔大衛亞希突的兒子亞希米勒有一個兒子，名叫亞比亞他，逃過了大難，就逃去跟隨大衛。
21And Abiathar showed David that Saul had slain the LORD's priests.
21亞比亞他把掃羅殺害耶和華祭司的事告訴了大衛，
22And David said unto Abiathar, I knew it that day, when Doeg the Edomite was there, that he would surely tell Saul: I have occasioned the death of all the persons of thy father's house.
22大衛就對亞比亞他說：“那一天我見以東人多益在那裡，就知道他必定會告訴掃羅。你父全家每個人的死，我都有責任。
23Abide thou with me, fear not: for he that seeketh my life seeketh thy life: but with me thou shalt be in safeguard.
23你可以住在我這裡。不要懼怕，因為那尋索你命的，正在尋索我的命，你與我在一起就可保安全。”
