¹I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;

¹በእግዚአብሔር ፊት በሕያዋንና በሙታንም ሊፈርድ ባለው በጌታ በኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ፊት፥ በመገለጡና በመንግሥቱም እመክርሃለሁ፤

²Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

²ቃሉን ስበክ፥ በጊዜውም አለጊዜውም ጽና፥ ፈጽመህ እየታገሥህና እያስተማርህ፥ ዝለፍና ገሥጽ ምከርም።

³For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

³ሕይወት የሚገኝበትን ትምህርት የማይታገሡበት ዘመን ይመጣልና፤ ነገር ግን ጆሮቻቸውን የሚያሳክክ ስለ ሆነ፥ እንደ ገዛ ምኞታቸው ለራሳቸው አስተማሪዎችን ያከማቻሉ።

⁴And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

⁴እውነትንም ከመስማት ጆሮቻቸውን ይመልሳሉ፥ ወደ ተረትም ፈቀቅ ይላሉ።

⁵But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

⁵አንተ ግን ነገርን ሁሉ በልክ አድርግ፥ መከራን ተቀበል፥ የወንጌል ሰባኪነትን ሥራ አድርግ፥ አገልግሎትህን ፈጽም።

⁶For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.

⁶በመሥዋዕት እንደሚደረግ፥ የእኔ ሕይወት ይሠዋልና፥ የምሄድበትም ጊዜ ደርሶአል።

⁷I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

⁷መልካሙን ገድል ተጋድዬአለሁ፥ ሩጫውን ጨርሼአለሁ፥ ሃይማኖትን ጠብቄአለሁ፤

⁸Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

⁸ወደ ፊት የጽድቅ አክሊል ተዘጋጅቶልኛል፥ ይህንም ጻድቅ ፈራጅ የሆነው ጌታ ያን ቀን ለእኔ ያስረክባል፥ ደግሞም መገለጡን ለሚወዱት ሁሉ እንጂ ለእኔ ብቻ አይደለም።

⁹Do thy diligence to come shortly unto me:

⁹በቶሎ ወደ እኔ እንድትመጣ ትጋ፤

¹⁰For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.

¹⁰ዴማስ የአሁኑን ዓለም ወዶ ትቶኛልና፥ ወደ ተሰሎንቄም ሄዶአል፤ ቄርቂስም ወደ ገላትያ ቲቶም ወደ ድልማጥያ ሄደዋል፤

¹¹Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with thee: for he is profitable to me for the ministry.

¹¹ሉቃስ ብቻ ከእኔ ጋር አለ። ማርቆስ ለአገልግሎት ብዙ ይጠቅመኛልና ይዘኸው ከአንተ ጋር አምጣው።

¹²And Tychicus have I sent to Ephesus.

¹²ቲኪቆስን ግን ወደ ኤፌሶን ላክሁት።

¹³The cloke that I left at Troas with Carpus, when thou comest, bring with thee, and the books, but especially the parchments.

¹³ስትመጣ በጢሮአዳ ከአክርጳ ዘንድ የተውሁትን በርኖሱንና መጻሕፍቱን ይልቁንም በብራና የተጻፉትን አምጣልኝ።

¹⁴Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him according to his works:

¹⁴የናስ አንጥረኛው እስክንድሮስ እጅግ ከፋብኝ፤ ጌታ እንደ ሥራው ይመልስለታል።

¹⁵Of whom be thou ware also; for he hath greatly withstood our words.

¹⁵አንተም ደግሞ ከእርሱ ተጠበቅ፥ የምንናገረውን እጅግ ተቃውሞአልና።

¹⁶At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men forsook me: I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge.

¹⁶በፊተኛው ሙግቴ አንድ ስንኳ አልደረሰልኝም፥ ሁሉም ተዉኝ እንጂ፤ ይህንም አይቍጠርባቸው፤

¹⁷Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

¹⁷ዳሩ ግን የስብከቱ ሥራ በእኔ እንዲፈጸም አሕዛብም ሁሉ እንዲሰሙት፥ ጌታ በእኔ አጠገብ ቆሞ አበረታኝ፥ ከአንበሳ አፍም ዳንሁ።

¹⁸And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

¹⁸ጌታም ከክፉ ነገር ሁሉ ያድነኛል ለሰማያዊውም መንግሥት ይጠብቀኛል፤ ለእርሱ ከዘላለም እስከ ዘላለም ክብር ይሁን፤ አሜን።

¹⁹Salute Prisca and Aquila, and the household of Onesiphorus.

¹⁹ለጵርስቅላና ለአቂላ ለሄኔሲፎሩም ቤተ ሰዎች ሰላምታ አቅርብልኝ።

²⁰Erastus abode at Corinth: but Trophimus have I left at Miletum sick.

²⁰ኤርስጦስ በቆሮንቶስ ቀረ፥ ጥሮፊሞስን ግን ታሞ በሚሊጢን ተውሁት።

²¹Do thy diligence to come before winter. Eubulus greeteth thee, and Pudens, and Linus, and Claudia, and all the brethren.

²¹ከክረምት በፊት እንድትመጣ ትጋ። ኤውግሎስና ጱዴስ ሊኖስም ቅላውዲያም ወንድሞችም ሁሉ ሰላምታ ያቀርቡልሃል።

²²The Lord Jesus Christ be with thy spirit. Grace be with you. Amen.

²²ጌታ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ከመንፈስህ ጋር ይሁን። ጸጋ ከእናንተ ጋር ይሁን፤ አሜን።
