¹Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, all evil speakings,

¹فاطرحوا كل خبث وكل مكر والرياء والحسد وكل مذمة

²As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

²وكاطفال مولودين الآن اشتهوا اللبن العقلي العديم الغش لكي تنموا به

³If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.

³ان كنتم قد ذقتم ان الرب صالح.

⁴To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,

⁴الذي اذ تأتون اليه حجرا حيّا مرفوضا من الناس ولكن مختار من الله كريم

⁵Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

⁵كونوا انتم ايضا مبنيين كحجارة حية بيتا روحيا كهنوتا مقدسا لتقديم ذبائح روحية مقبولة عند الله بيسوع المسيح.

⁶Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.

⁶لذلك يتضمن ايضا في الكتاب هانذا اضع في صهيون حجر زاوية مختارا كريما والذي يؤمن به لن يخزى.

⁷Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,

⁷فلكم انتم الذين تؤمنون الكرامة واما للذين لا يطيعون فالحجر الذي رفضه البناؤون هو قد صار راس الزاوية

⁸And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.

⁸وحجر صدمة وصخرة عثرة. الذين يعثرون غير طائعين للكلمة الامر الذي جعلوا له.

⁹But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;

⁹واما انتم فجنس مختار وكهنوت ملوكي امة مقدسة شعب اقتناء لكي تخبروا بفضائل الذي دعاكم من الظلمة الى نوره العجيب.

¹⁰Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

¹⁰الذين قبلا لم تكونوا شعبا واما الآن فانتم شعب الله. الذين كنتم غير مرحومين واما الآن فمرحومون

¹¹Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;

¹¹ايها الاحباء اطلب اليكم كغرباء ونزلاء ان تمتنعوا عن الشهوات الجسدية التي تحارب النفس

¹²Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.

¹²وان تكون سيرتكم بين الامم حسنة لكي يكونوا في ما يفترون عليكم كفاعلي شر يمجدون الله في يوم الافتقاد من اجل اعمالكم الحسنة التي يلاحظونها.

¹³Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme;

¹³فاخضعوا لكل ترتيب بشري من اجل الرب. ان كان للملك فكمن هو فوق الكل

¹⁴Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.

¹⁴او للولاة فكمرسلين منه للانتقام من فاعلي الشر وللمدح لفاعلي الخير.

¹⁵For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:

¹⁵لان هكذا هي مشيئة الله ان تفعلوا الخير فتسكّتوا جهالة الناس الاغبياء.

¹⁶As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.

¹⁶كاحرار وليس كالذين الحرية عندهم سترة للشر بل كعبيد الله.

¹⁷Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.

¹⁷اكرموا الجميع. احبوا الاخوة. خافوا الله. اكرموا الملك

¹⁸Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward.

¹⁸ايها الخدام كونوا خاضعين بكل هيبة للسادة ليس للصالحين المترفقين فقط بل للعنفاء ايضا.

¹⁹For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.

¹⁹لان هذا فضل ان كان احد من اجل ضمير نحو الله يحتمل احزانا متألما بالظلم.

²⁰For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.

²⁰لانه اي مجد هو ان كنتم تلطمون مخطئين فتصبرون. بل ان كنتم تتألمون عاملين الخير فتصبرون فهذا فضل عند الله

²¹For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

²¹لانكم لهذا دعيتم فان المسيح ايضا تألم لاجلنا تاركا لنا مثالا لكي تتبعوا خطواته.

²²Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:

²²الذي لم يفعل خطية ولا وجد في فمه مكر

²³Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:

²³الذي اذ شتم لم يكن يشتم عوضا واذ تألم لم يكن يهدد بل كان يسلم لمن يقضي بعدل.

²⁴Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

²⁴الذي حمل هو نفسه خطايانا في جسده على الخشبة لكي نموت عن الخطايا فنحيا للبر. الذي بجلدته شفيتم.

²⁵For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

²⁵لانكم كنتم كخراف ضالة لكنكم رجعتم الآن الى راعي نفوسكم واسقفها
