²Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

²Sumala sa daang pagkahibalo sa Dios nga Amahan, diha sa pagkabalaan sa Espiritu, ngadto sa pagkamasinulondon ug sa pagsablig sa dugo ni Jesucristo: Ang gracia ug ang pakigdait modagaya nganha kaninyo.

³Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

³Dalayegon ang Dios ug Amahan sa atong Ginoong Jesucristo, nga sumala sa iyang dakung kalooy, kita gipakatawo pag-usab niya ngadto sa buhing paglaum, pinaagi sa pagkabanhaw ni Jesucristo gikan sa mga minatay;

⁴To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

⁴Ngadto sa usa ka kabilin nga dili madunoton, ug walay buling, ug dili molubad, nga gitagana didto sa langit alang kaninyo,

⁵Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

⁵Nga tungod sa gahum sa Dios ginabantayan kamo pinaagi sa pagtoo ngadto sa kaluwasan nga andam nga igapahayag sa katapusan nga panahon.

⁶Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:

⁶Diin niini nanagkalipay kamo ug daku gayud, bisan karon sa hamubong panahon, kong kinahanglan, gipasubo kamo pinaagi sa nagakalainlain nga mga pagtintal;

⁷That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

⁸Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

⁸Nga sa wala ninyo hikit-i, inyong gihigugma; ug nga bisan wala ninyo siya hikit-i karon, apan sa pagtoo nagakalipay kamo sa hilabihan gayud sa kalipay nga dili maasoy ug puno sa himaya:

⁹Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

⁹Sa pagdawat ninyo sa katapusan sa inyong pagtoo, ang kaluwasan sa inyong mga kalag.

¹⁰Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:

¹⁰Nga mahatungod sa maong kaluwasan ang mga manalagna nagpangita ug nagsusi sa masingkamuton gayud nga nagpanagna mahatungod sa gracia nga magaabut kaninyo:

¹¹Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.

¹¹Nga nagasusi sa panahon, kun sa paagi sa panahon, nga ginatultul sa Espiritu ni Cristo nga didto kanila, sa nagpamatuod kini nga daan sa mga pag-antus ni Cristo, ug sa mga himaya nga mosunod niini;

¹²Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.

¹²Nga kanila gipadayag kini, dili sa ilang kaugalingon gayud, kondili kaninyo, nag-alagad sila niining mga butanga, nga karon ginamantala kaninyo pinaagi kanila nga nagwali sa Maayong Balita kaninyo pinaagi sa Espiritu Santo nga gisugo gikan sa langit; nga ang maong mga butang ginatinguha nga susihon sa mga manolonda.

¹³Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

¹³Tungod niana, sa lig-onon ninyo ang inyong mga hunahuna, managbuotan kamo, ug lumaum kamo sa hingpit sa gracia, nga pagadad-on nganha kaninyo sa pagpadayag ni Jesucristo;

¹⁴As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:

¹⁴Ingon nga mga anak nga masinulondon, nga wala managpahiuyon sa inyong kaugalingon sumala sa inyong mga kailibgon nga daan sa panahon sa inyong pagkaburong.

¹⁵But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;

¹⁵Kondili, ingon nga siya nga nagtawag kaninyo balaan, magbalaan usab kamo sa tanang paagi sa panginabuhi.

¹⁶Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

¹⁶Kay nahasulat na: Mahimong balaan kamo, kay balaan ako.

¹⁷And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:

¹⁷Ug kong kamo magatawag kaniya ingon nga Amahan, nga sa walay pagpasulabi sa mga tawo, nagahukom siya uyon sa mga buhat sa tagsatagsa, managgawi kamo sa panahon sa inyong pagkadumuloong dinhi nga may kahadlok;

¹⁸Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;

¹⁸Sa hingsayran ninyo, nga kamo wala pagtubsa gikan sa walay pulos ninyo nga pagkinabuhi nga inyong gipanununod sa inyong mga ginikanan, pinaagi sa mga butang nga magabuk ingon sa bulawan, kun salapi;

¹⁹But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

¹⁹Kondili sa bililhon nga dugo ni Cristo, ingon sa usa ka cordero nga walay buling ug walay mansa:

²⁰Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,

²⁰Nga sa pagkamatuod, daan nang hingbaloan sa wala pa ang pagtukod sa kalibutan, apan nga gipadayag sa katapusan sa mga panahon, tungod kaninyo,

²¹Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.

²¹Nga pinaagi kaniya, kamo mga magtotoo sa Dios, nga nagbanhaw kaniya gikan sa mga minatay, ug mihatag kaniya sa himaya; aron ang inyong pagtoo ug paglaum mahamutang sa Dios:

²²Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:

²²Samtang nag-ulay kamo sa inyong mga kalag diha sa pagkamasinulondon sa kamatuoran ngadto sa gugma nga walay pagkasalingkapaw sa mga igsoon, maghigugmaay kamo ang usa ug usa sa kasingkasing nga mainiton gayud;

²³Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

²³Sa gipakatawo kamo pag-usab, dili sa binhi nga madunoton, kondili sa dili-madunoton pinaagi sa pulong sa Dios, nga buhi ug nagapadayon sa gihapon.

²⁴For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:

²⁴Kay, ang tanan nga unod sama sa balili, ug ang tanan nga himaya niini sama sa bulak sa balili; malaya ang balili, ug matagak ang iyang bulak:

²⁵But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

²⁵Apan ang pulong sa Ginoo magapadayon sa gihapon. Ug kini mao ang pulong sa Maayong Balita nga ginawali kaninyo.
