¹Then came all the tribes of Israel to David unto Hebron, and spake, saying, Behold, we are thy bone and thy flesh.

¹Unya ming-adto ang tanang mga banay sa Israel ngadto kang David sa Hebron, ug namulong, ug ming-ingon: Ania karon, kami mao ang imong bukog ug ang imong unod.

²Also in time past, when Saul was king over us, thou wast he that leddest out and broughtest in Israel: and the LORD said to thee, Thou shalt feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be a captain over Israel.

²Sa mga panahon nga nangagi sa diha nga si Saul pa maoy hari sa ibabaw namo, ikaw mao kadtong nagmando sa paggula ug sa pagdala sa sulod sa Israel: ug si Jehova miingon kanimo: Ikaw ang magbalantay sa akong katawohan nga Israel ug ikaw ang nahimong principe sa Israel.

³So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and king David made a league with them in Hebron before the LORD: and they anointed David king over Israel.

³Busa ang tanang mga anciano sa Israel ming-adto sa hari didto sa Hebron; ug ang hari nga si David naghimo ug usa ka pakigsaad uban kanila didto sa Hebron sa atubangan ni Jehova: ug sila nagdihog kang David nga hari sa Israel.

⁴David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years.

⁴Si David may katloan ka tuig ang panuigon sa diha nga siya misugod sa paghari, ug siya naghari sulod sa kapatan ka tuig.

⁵In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months: and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years over all Israel and Judah.

⁵Didto sa Hebron siya naghari sa ibabaw sa Juda pito ka tuig ug unom ka bulan; ug didto sa Jerusalem siya naghari sulod sa katloan ug tolo ka tuig sa ibabaw sa tibook nga Israel ug Juda.

⁶And the king and his men went to Jerusalem unto the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land: which spake unto David, saying, Except thou take away the blind and the lame, thou shalt not come in hither: thinking, David cannot come in hither.

⁶Ug ang hari ug ang iyang mga tawo ming-adto sa Jerusalem batok sa mga Jebusehanon, ang mga pumoluyo sa yuta, nga mingsulti kang David, nga nagaingon: Gawas kong kuhaon mo ang buta ug ang piang, ikaw dili makaanhi dinhi; kay naghunahuna sila nga si David dili makaadto didto.

⁷Nevertheless David took the strong hold of Zion: the same is the city of David.

⁷Bisan pa niana giagaw ni David ang malig-ong salipdanan sa Sion; kadto maoang ciudad ni David.

⁸And David said on that day, Whosoever getteth up to the gutter, and smiteth the Jebusites, and the lame and the blind that are hated of David's soul, he shall be chief and captain. Wherefore they said, The blind and the lame shall not come into the house.

⁸Ug si David miingon niadtong adlawa: Bisan kinsa nga modaug sa mga Jebusehanon paadtoa siya ngadto sa alagianan sa tubig, ug ipalaglag ang piang ug ang buta, nga gikaligutgutan sa kalag ni David. Busa sila ming-ingon: Atua ang buta ug ang piang; siya dili makaadto sa balay.

⁹So David dwelt in the fort, and called it the city of David. And David built round about from Millo and inward.

⁹Ug si David mipuyo didto sa malig ong salipdanan, ug gitawag kini nga ciudad ni David. Ug si David nagtukod sa paglibut sukad sa Millo ngadto sa dapit sa sulod.

¹⁰And David went on, and grew great, and the LORD God of hosts was with him.

¹⁰Ug si David nag-anam ug pagkadaku; kay si Jehova, ang Dios sa mga panon nag-uban kaniya.

¹¹And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, and carpenters, and masons: and they built David an house.

¹¹Ug si Hiram ang hari sa Tiro nagpadala ug mga sulogoon ngadto kang David, ug mga kahoy nga cedro, ug mga panday ug mga magbubuhat sa tabliya nga bato; ug si David ilang gibuhatan ug balay.

¹²And David perceived that the LORD had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom for his people Israel's sake.

¹²Ug nakita ni David nga si Jehova mao ang naghimo kaniya nga hari sa ibabaw sa Israel, ug nga iyang gibayaw ang iyang gingharian alangnsa iyang katawohan tungod sa Israel.

¹³And David took him more concubines and wives out of Jerusalem, after he was come from Hebron: and there were yet sons and daughters born to David.

¹³Ug si David mikuha pagdugang alang kaniya ug mga puyopuyo ug mga asawa gikan sa Jerusalem, sa human siya mahiabut gikan sa Hebron; ug didto pay mga anak nga lalake ug mga anak nga babaye nga nangatawo kang David.

¹⁴And these be the names of those that were born unto him in Jerusalem; Shammuah, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon,

¹⁴Ug kini mao ang mga ngalan niadtong mga natawo kaniya didto sa Jerusalem: si Sammua, ug si Sobab, ug si Nathan ug si Salomon,

¹⁵Ibhar also, and Elishua, and Nepheg, and Japhia,

¹⁵Ug si Ibhar, ug si Elisua, ug si Nepheg, ug si Japhia,

¹⁶And Elishama, and Eliada, and Eliphalet.

¹⁶Ug si Elisama, ug si Eliada, ug si Eliphelet.

¹⁷But when the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, all the Philistines came up to seek David; and David heard of it, and went down to the hold.

¹⁷Ug sa diha nga ang mga Filistehanon nakadungog nga sila nagdihog kang David nga hari sa ibabaw sa Israel, ang tanang mga Filistehanon mingtungas sa pagpangita kang David; ug si David nakadungog niini, ug miadto siya sa malig-ong salipdanan.

¹⁸The Philistines also came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.

¹⁸Karon ang mga Filistehanon nanganha ug nanagkatag sa ilang kaugalingon diha sa walog sa Rephaim.

¹⁹And David inquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up to the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto David, Go up: for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into thine hand.

¹⁹Ug si David nangutana kang Jehova, nga nagaingon: Motungas ba ako batok sa mga Filistehanon? Itugyan mo ba sila sa akong kamot? Ug si Jehova miingon kang David: Tungas; kay sa pagkatinuod itugyan ko ang mga Filistehanon sa imong kamot.

²⁰And David came to Baalperazim, and David smote them there, and said, The LORD hath broken forth upon mine enemies before me, as the breach of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baalperazim.

²⁰Ug si David miadto sa Baal-perasim, ug gidaug sila ni David didto; ug siya miingon: Si Jehova nagbungkag sa akong mga kaaway sa atubangan ko, sama sa pagkabulagbulag sa mga katubigan. Busa gitawag niya kadtong dapita nga Baal-perasim.

²¹And there they left their images, and David and his men burned them.

²¹Ug ilang gibilin ang ilang mga larawan didto; ug si David ug ang iyang mga tawo nanagkuha niini.

²²And the Philistines came up yet again, and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.

²²Ug ang mga Filistehanon ming-abut pa gayud pag-usab ug nanagkatag sa ilang kaugalingon diha sa walog sa Rephaim.

²³And when David inquired of the LORD, he said, Thou shalt not go up; but fetch a compass behind them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.

²³Ug sa diha nga si David nangutana kang Jehova, siya miingon: Ikaw dili motungas: himoa ang usa ka paglibut sa ilang luyo, ug umadto kanila atbang sa mga kahoy nga morales.

²⁴And let it be, when thou hearest the sound of a going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself: for then shall the LORD go out before thee, to smite the host of the Philistines.

²⁴Ug mahitabo, nga sa diha nga ikaw makadungog sa dinahunog sa paglakaw gikan sa mga tumoy sa mga kahoy nga morales nga ikaw manlimbasug; kay niana si Jehova nag-una kanimo sa paglaglag sa panon sa mga Filistehanon.

²⁵And David did so, as the LORD had commanded him; and smote the Philistines from Geba until thou come to Gazer.

²⁵Ug si David naghimo sa ingon, sumala sa gisugo ni Jehova kaniya, ug gilaglag ang mga Filistehanon, sukad sa Gabaa hangtud nga mahiabut ikaw sa Gaza.
