¹Thus hath the Lord GOD shewed unto me: and behold a basket of summer fruit.

¹Busa ang Ginoong Jehova nagpakita kanako: ug, ania karon, usa ka bukag sa mga bunga sa ting-init.

²And he said, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A basket of summer fruit. Then said the LORD unto me, The end is come upon my people of Israel; I will not again pass by them any more.

²Ug siya miingon: Amos, unsay nakita mo? Ug miingon ako: Ang usa ka bukag nga bunga sa ting-init. Unya miingon si Jehova kanako: Ang katapusan miabut na sa akong katawohan nga Israel; ako dili na moagi kanila pag-usab.

³And the songs of the temple shall be howlings in that day, saith the Lord GOD: there shall be many dead bodies in every place; they shall cast them forth with silence.

³Ug ang mga awit sa templo mahimong mga pagbakho niadtong adlawa, nagaingon ang Ginoong Jehova: ang mga minatay madaghan; sa tanang dapit sila igasalibay sa hilum.

⁴Hear this, O ye that swallow up the needy, even to make the poor of the land to fail,

⁴Pamatia kini, Oh kamo nga molamoy sa mga hangul, ug magalugpit sa mga kabus sa yuta,

⁵Saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? and the sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel great, and falsifying the balances by deceit?

⁵Nga magaingon: Kanus-a pa ba mohimatayon ang bag-ong bulan, aron kita makabaligya ug trigo? ug ang adlaw nga igpapahulay, aron ikabaligya nato ang trigo, aron madiyutay ang epha, ug madaku ang siclo, ug aron makalimbong kita pinaagi sa mga timbangan nga limbongan;

⁶That we may buy the poor for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes; yea, and sell the refuse of the wheat?

⁶Aron ang mga kabus mapalit nato sa salapi, ug ang mga hangul mabugtian sa usa ka paris nga sapin, ug ikabaligya ang mga biniyaang bahin sa trigo?

⁷The LORD hath sworn by the excellency of Jacob, Surely I will never forget any of their works.

⁷Si Jehova nanumpa tungod sa kahalangdon ni Jacob: Sa pagkatinuod ako dili gayud malimot sa bisan unsa sa ilang mga buhat.

⁸Shall not the land tremble for this, and every one mourn that dwelleth therein? and it shall rise up wholly as a flood; and it shall be cast out and drowned, as by the flood of Egypt.

⁸Dili ba mokurog ang yuta tungod niini, ug magaguol ang tanan nga makapuyo didto? oo, siya motubo sa tibook nga maingon sa Suba; ug kini magubot ug mohubas pag-usab, ingon sa Suba sa Egipto.

⁹And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord GOD, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day:

⁹Ug mahitabo niadtong adlawa, nagaingon ang Ginoong Jehova: Ang adlaw akong pasalupon sa kaudtohon, ug akong pangitngitan ang yuta sa matin-aw nga adlaw.

¹⁰And I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation; and I will bring up sackcloth upon all loins, and baldness upon every head; and I will make it as the mourning of an only son, and the end thereof as a bitter day.

¹⁰Ug ang inyong mga kombira akong himoon nga pagbangotan, ug ang tanan ninyong mga awit himoon ko nga mga pagminatay; ug dad-an ko ug saput nga sako ang tanan ninyong mga hawak, ug kaupaw ang tagsatagsa ka ulo; ug himoon ko kini nga ingon sa kaguol sa kamatayon alang sa anak nga bugtong, ug ang katapusan niana sama sa usa ka adlaw nga mapait.

¹¹Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:

¹¹Ania karon, ang mga adlaw moabut na, nagaingon ang Ginoong Jehova, nga diha sa yuta ipadala ko ang kagutmanan, dili kagutmanan sa tinapay, ni sa kauhaw sa tubig; hinonoa kagutmanan sa pagpatalinghug sa mga pulong ni Jehova.

¹²And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.

¹²Ug sila magalaroylaroy gikan sa usang dagat ngadto sa laing dagat, ug gikan sa amihanan bisan pa ngadto sa timogan; sila manalagan ngadto-nganhi aron sa pagpangita sa pulong ni Jehova, ug sila dili makakaplag niini.

¹³In that day shall the fair virgins and young men faint for thirst.

¹³Niadtong adlawa ang maanyag nga mga ulay ug ang batan-ong mga lalake mangaluya tungod sa kauhaw.

¹⁴They that swear by the sin of Samaria, and say, Thy god, O Dan, liveth; and, The manner of Beersheba liveth; even they shall fall, and never rise up again.

¹⁴Sila nga manumpa tungod sa sala sa Samaria, ug magaingon: Ingon nga ang imong Dios, Oh Dan, buhi; ug; Ingon nga ang batasan sa Beer-seba buhi; sila mangapukan, ug dili na gayud makabangon pag-usab.
