¹Run ye to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and know, and seek in the broad places thereof, if ye can find a man, if there be any that executeth judgment, that seeketh the truth; and I will pardon it.

¹Dumalagan kamo pabalik-balik sa kadalanan sa Jerusalem, ug tan-awa karon, ug hibaloi, ug pangitaa sa mga halapad nga dapit didto, kong makakaplag ba kamo ug usa ka tawo, kong aduna bay mausa nga nagabuhat sa minatarung; nga nagapangita sa kamatuoran; ug ako magapasaylo kaniya.

²And though they say, The LORD liveth; surely they swear falsely.

²Ug bisan pa, sila nagaingon: Ingon nga si Jehova buhi; sa pagkamatuod, sila nanagpanumpa sa bakak.

³O LORD, are not thine eyes upon the truth? thou hast stricken them, but they have not grieved; thou hast consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction: they have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return.

³Oh Jehova, wala ba magatan-aw sa kamatuoran ang imong mga mata? nagsilot ka kanila, apan sila wala managsubo; ikaw nag-ut-ut kanila, apan sila mingdumili sa pagdawat sa pagsaway: sila nanagpagahi sa ilang mga nawong labi kay sa usa ka bato; sila mingdumili sa pagbalik.

⁴Therefore I said, Surely these are poor; they are foolish: for they know not the way of the LORD, nor the judgment of their God.

⁴Unya ako miingon: Sa pagkatinuod kini sila mga kabus; sila mga buang-buang; kay sila wala manghibalo sa dalan ni Jehova; ni sa Kasugoan sa ilang Dios.

⁵I will get me unto the great men, and will speak unto them; for they have known the way of the LORD, and the judgment of their God: but these have altogether broken the yoke, and burst the bonds.

⁵Ako moadto sa mga dagkung tawo, ug mosulti kanila; kay sila nanghibalo sa dalan ni Jehova, ug sa justicia sa ilang Dios. Apan kini sila nanag-usa sa pagbunggo sa yugo ug sa paglugtas sa mga gapus.

⁶Wherefore a lion out of the forest shall slay them, and a wolf of the evenings shall spoil them, a leopard shall watch over their cities: every one that goeth out thence shall be torn in pieces: because their transgressions are many, and their backslidings are increased.

⁶Tungod niini ang usa ka leon nga gikan sa lasang maoy mopatay kanila, ang usa ka lobo sa kagabhion maoy molaglag kanila; ang usa ka leopardo maoy motukaw batok sa ilang mga ciudad; ang tagsatagsa nga mogula gikan didto pagakuniskunison: kay ang ilang mga kalapasan daghan, ug ang ilang mga pagkamasalaypon mingtubo.

⁷How shall I pardon thee for this? thy children have forsaken me, and sworn by them that are no gods: when I had fed them to the full, they then committed adultery, and assembled themselves by troops in the harlots' houses.

⁷Unsaon ko pagpasaylo kanimo? ang imong mga anak mingtalikod kanako, ug nanagpanumpa pinaagi niadtong dili mga dios. Sa diha nga gipakaon ko sila hangtud sa pagkabusog, sila nanapaw hinoon , ug nanagpanon pagtigum sa ilang kaugalingon diha sa mga balay sa mga babaye nga bigaon.

⁸They were as fed horses in the morning: every one neighed after his neighbour's wife.

⁸Sila sama sa linalogan nga mga kabayo nga mingsalaag sa bisan diin nga dapit; ang tagsatagsa nagabahihi sunod sa asawa sa iyang isigkatawo.

⁹Shall I not visit for these things? saith the LORD: and shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?

⁹Dili ba ako modu-aw tungod niining mga butanga? nagaingon si Jehova: ug dili ba ang akong kalag manimalus sa nasud nga ingon niini?

¹⁰Go ye up upon her walls, and destroy; but make not a full end: take away her battlements; for they are not the LORD's.

¹⁰Panaka kamo sa iyang mga kuta, ug gun-oba; apan ayaw pagtibawasa sa pagguba: kuhaa ang iyang mga sanga; kay sila dili man iya ni Jehova.

¹¹For the house of Israel and the house of Judah have dealt very treacherously against me, saith the LORD.

¹¹Kay ang balay sa Israel ug ang balay sa Juda nanagbudhi kanako, nagaingon si Jehova.

¹²They have belied the LORD, and said, It is not he; neither shall evil come upon us; neither shall we see sword nor famine:

¹²Sila minglimod kang Jehova, ug ming-ingon: Dili man siya; ni ang kadaut modangat kanato; ni makakita kita ug espada ni gutom:

¹³And the prophets shall become wind, and the word is not in them: thus shall it be done unto them.

¹³Ug ang mga manalagna mangahimong hangin, ug ang pulong wala diha kanila: ang ingon niini pagabuhaton kanila.

¹⁴Wherefore thus saith the LORD God of hosts, Because ye speak this word, behold, I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them.

¹⁴Tungod niini, nagaingon si Jehova, ang Dios sa mga panon: Tungod kay kamo mingsulti niining mga pulonga, ania karon, himoon ko nga kalayo sa imong baba ang akong mga pulong, ug kining katawohan, kahoy, ug kini molamoy kanila.

¹⁵Lo, I will bring a nation upon you from far, O house of Israel, saith the LORD: it is a mighty nation, it is an ancient nation, a nation whose language thou knowest not, neither understandest what they say.

¹⁵Ania karon, padad-an ko kamo ug usa ka nasud gikan sa halayo, Oh balay sa Israel, nagaingon si Jehova: kini usa ka nasud nga gamhanan, usa ka nasud nga karaan, usa ka nasud kansang pinulongan wala mo hibaloi, ni makasabut ikaw sa ilang igaingon.

¹⁶Their quiver is as an open sepulchre, they are all mighty men.

¹⁶Ang ilang baslayan maoy usa ka inablihang lubnganan, silang tanan pulos mga kusganong tawo.

¹⁷And they shall eat up thine harvest, and thy bread, which thy sons and thy daughters should eat: they shall eat up thy flocks and thine herds: they shall eat up thy vines and thy fig trees: they shall impoverish thy fenced cities, wherein thou trustedst, with the sword.

¹⁷Ug sila maoy mokaon sa imong giani, ug sa imong tinapay nga ginakaon sa imong mga anak nga lalake ug sa imong mga anak nga babaye. Sila mokaon sa imong panon sa carnero ug sa imong panon sa mga vaca: sila mokaon sa imong mga parras ug sa imong mga kahoy nga igos: sila maoy mogun-ob sa imong kinutaang mga ciudad, diin ikaw mosalig, uban sa espada.

¹⁸Nevertheless in those days, saith the LORD, I will not make a full end with you.

¹⁸Apan bisan pa niadtong mga adlawa nagaingon si Jehova: Dili ko tibawason kamo.

¹⁹And it shall come to pass, when ye shall say, Wherefore doeth the LORD our God all these things unto us? then shalt thou answer them, Like as ye have forsaken me, and served strange gods in your land, so shall ye serve strangers in a land that is not your's.

¹⁹Ug mahatabo nga kong ikaw moingon: Ngano man nga kanato gibuhat ni Jehova nga atong Dios kining tanan nga mga butanga? unya ikaw moingon kanila: Sama sa inyong pagbiya kanako, ug sa pag-alagad sa laing mga dios sa inyong yuta, mao nga magaalagad kamo sa mga dumuloong diha sa yuta nga dili inyo.

²⁰Declare this in the house of Jacob, and publish it in Judah, saying,

²⁰Ipahayag ninyo kini diha sa balay ni Jacob, ug imantala kini sa Juda, sa pag-ingon:

²¹Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not:

²¹Pamatia karon kini, Oh buangbuang nga katawohan, ug mga walay salabutan; nga adunay mga mata, ug dili makakita; nga adunay mga igdulungog, ug dili makadungog.

²²Fear ye not me? saith the LORD: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?

²²Dili ba kamo mahadlok kanako? nagaingon si Jehova: dili ba kamo mokurog sa akong presencia, nga nagbutang sa balas aron mahimong utlanan sa dagat, nga pinaagi sa usa ka sugo nga walay pagkatapus, kini dili makalabang niini? ug bisan ang mga balud didto managsapo-sapo sa ilang kaugalingon, apan sila dili makadaug: bisan sila modahunog, apan sila dili makalabang niini.

²³But this people hath a revolting and a rebellious heart; they are revolted and gone.

²³Apan kini nga katawohan adunay malalison ug sumosukol nga kasingkasing; sila mingsukol ug nangawala na .

²⁴Neither say they in their heart, Let us now fear the LORD our God, that giveth rain, both the former and the latter, in his season: he reserveth unto us the appointed weeks of the harvest.

²⁴Wala gani moingon sila sa ilang kasingkasing: Kahadlokan na nato karon si Jehova nga atong Dios, nga nagahatag ug ulan, sa kaniadto ug sa ulahian sa iyang panahon: nga nagabantay alang kanato niining tinudlong mga semana sa pagpangani.

²⁵Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you.

²⁵Ang inyong kasal-anan maoy nakapahilayo niining mga butanga, ug ang inyong mga sala maoy nakapugong gikan kaninyo sa mga kaayohan.

²⁶For among my people are found wicked men: they lay wait, as he that setteth snares; they set a trap, they catch men.

²⁶Kay sa taliwala sa akong katawohan igakita ang dautang mga tawo; sila nanagbantay ingon sa mga mangangayam nga nanaghati; sila nagabutang ug usa ka lit-ag, sila modakup ug mga tawo.

²⁷As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit: therefore they are become great, and waxen rich.

²⁷Ingon sa usa ka halwa nga napuno sa mga langgam, mao usab ang ilang mga balay napuno sa mga limbong: busa sila nangahimong dagku ug nangahimong bahandianon.

²⁸They are waxen fat, they shine: yea, they overpass the deeds of the wicked: they judge not the cause, the cause of the fatherless, yet they prosper; and the right of the needy do they not judge.

²⁸Sila mingtambok, sila mingsinaw: Oo, sila minglabaw sa mga binuhatan sa mga dautan: sila wala managlaban sa katungod, sa katungod sa mga ilo, aron sila mouswag; ug ang katungod sa mga hangul wala nila pakanaugi ug hukom.

²⁹Shall I not visit for these things? saith the LORD: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?

³⁰A wonderful and horrible thing is committed in the land;

³¹The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?

³¹Ang mga manalagna nanagpanagna sa bakak, ug ang mga sacerdote nanagmando pinaagi sa ilang kahimoan; ug ang akong katawohan nahigugma nianang mga butanga; ug unsay inyong pagabuhaton sa katapusan niana?
