¹Now in the twenty and fourth day of this month the children of Israel were assembled with fasting, and with sackclothes, and earth upon them.

²And the seed of Israel separated themselves from all strangers, and stood and confessed their sins, and the iniquities of their fathers.

²Ug ang kaliwat sa Israel mingbulag sa ilang kaugalingon gikan sa tanang mga lumalangyaw, ug nanagtindog ug nanagsugid sa ilang mga sala, ug sa mga kadautan sa ilang mga amahan.

³And they stood up in their place, and read in the book of the law of the LORD their God one fourth part of the day; and another fourth part they confessed, and worshipped the LORD their God.

³Ug sila mingtindog sa ilang dapit ug mingbasa gikan sa basahon sa Kasugoan ni Jehova nga ilang Dios sulod sa usa ka ikaupat nga bahin sa adlaw; ug sa laing ikaupat nga bahin sila nanagsugid, ug nanagsimba kang Jehova nga ilang Dios.

⁴Then stood up upon the stairs, of the Levites, Jeshua, and Bani, Kadmiel, Shebaniah, Bunni, Sherebiah, Bani, and Chenani, and cried with a loud voice unto the LORD their God.

⁴Unya mingtindog sa ibabaw sa hagdanan sa mga Levihanon, si Jesua, si Bani, si Cadmiel, si Sebanias, si Bunni, si Serebias, si Bani, ug si Chenani, ug mingsinggit sa usa ka makusog nga tingog kang Jehova nga ilang Dios.

⁵Then the Levites, Jeshua, and Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabniah, Sherebiah, Hodijah, Shebaniah, and Pethahiah, said, Stand up and bless the LORD your God for ever and ever: and blessed be thy glorious name, which is exalted above all blessing and praise.

⁵Unya ang mga Levihanon, si Jesua, ug si Cadmiel, si Bani, si Hosabnias, si Serebias, si Odaias, si Sebanias, ug si Pethaia, ming-ingon: Tindog ug dayega ninyo si Jehova nga inyong Dios sukad sa walay katapusan hangtud sa walay katapusan; ug dalayegon ang imong mahimayaong ngalan, nga labaw sa tanang panalangin ug pagdayeg.

⁶Thou, even thou, art LORD alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee.

⁶Ikaw si Jehova, bisan ikaw lamang; ikaw ang nagbuhat sa langit, ang langit sa kalangitan, lakip ang tibook nilang panon, sa yuta ug sa tanang mga butang nga anaa sa ibabaw niana, sa mga dagat ug sa tanang anaa kanila, ug ikaw nagbantay kanilang tanan; ug ang panon sa langit nagasimba kanimo.

⁷Thou art the LORD the God, who didst choose Abram, and broughtest him forth out of Ur of the Chaldees, and gavest him the name of Abraham;

⁷Ikaw si Jehova ang Dios, nga nagpili kang Abram, ug nagdala kaniya gikan sa Ur sa mga Caldeahanon, ug naghatag kaniya sa ngalan nga Abraham,

⁸And foundest his heart faithful before thee, and madest a covenant with him to give the land of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Jebusites, and the Girgashites, to give it, I say, to his seed, and hast performed thy words; for thou art righteous:

⁸Ug nakakaplag sa iyang kasingkasing nga matinumanon sa imong atubangan, ug naghimo ug usa ka tugon uban kaniya sa paghatag sa yuta sa Canaanhon, sa Hetehanon sa Amorehanon, ug sa Perezehanon, ug sa Jebusehanon, ug sa Gergesehanon, sa paghatag niini sa iyang kaliwat, ug natuman ang imong mga pulong; kay ikaw matarung.

⁹And didst see the affliction of our fathers in Egypt, and heardest their cry by the Red sea;

⁹Ug ikaw nakakita sa kasakit sa among mga amahan didto sa Egipto, ug nakadungog sa ilang pagsinggit didto sa daplin sa Dagat nga Mapula,

¹⁰And shewedst signs and wonders upon Pharaoh, and on all his servants, and on all the people of his land: for thou knewest that they dealt proudly against them. So didst thou get thee a name, as it is this day.

¹⁰Ug nagpakita sa mga ilhanan ug mga katingalahan kang Faraon, ug sa tanan niyang mga alagad, ug sa tibook katawohan sa iyang yuta; kay ikaw nahibalo nga sila nagpagarbo batok kanila; ug gipabantug mo ang imong ngalan, ingon niining adlawa.

¹¹And thou didst divide the sea before them, so that they went through the midst of the sea on the dry land; and their persecutors thou threwest into the deeps, as a stone into the mighty waters.

¹¹Ug imong gibahin ang dagat sa atubangan nila, mao nga sila ming-agi sa kinataliwad-an sa dagat ibabaw sa mamala nga yuta; ug ang ilang mga manglulutos imong gipanambug ngadto sa kahiladman, ingon sa usa ka bato ngadto sa dakung dagat.

¹²Moreover thou leddest them in the day by a cloudy pillar; and in the night by a pillar of fire, to give them light in the way wherein they should go.

¹²Labut pa, sa usa ka haligi nga panganod ikaw nagmando kanila sa adlaw; ug sa haligi nga kalayo sa pagkagabii, aron sa pagbanwag kanila sa dalan nga ilang pagaagian.

¹³Thou camest down also upon mount Sinai, and spakest with them from heaven, and gavest them right judgments, and true laws, good statutes and commandments:

¹³Ikaw usab mikunsad ibabaw sa bukid sa Sinai, ug nakigsulti kanila gikan sa langit, ug mihatag kanila sa matarung nga mga tulomanon ug matuod nga mga balaod, maayong kabalaoran ug mga sugo.

¹⁴And madest known unto them thy holy sabbath, and commandedst them precepts, statutes, and laws, by the hand of Moses thy servant:

¹⁴Ug nagpahibalo kanila sa imong balaang adlaw nga igpapahulay, ug nagsugo kanila ug mga sugo, ug kabalaoran, ug usa ka Kasugoan, pinaagi kang Moises nga imong alagad,

¹⁵And gavest them bread from heaven for their hunger, and broughtest forth water for them out of the rock for their thirst, and promisedst them that they should go in to possess the land which thou hadst sworn to give them.

¹⁵Ug naghatag kanila sa tinapay sa ilang kagutom gikan sa langit, ug nagpatubod alang kanila sa tubig nga gikan sa bato alang sa ilang kauhaw, ug nagsugo kanila nga moadto sila sa pagpanag-iya sa yuta nga imong gipanumpa nga ihatag kanila.

¹⁶But they and our fathers dealt proudly, and hardened their necks, and hearkened not to thy commandments,

¹⁶Apan sila ug ang among mga amahan nanagpagarbo, ug nanagpatikig sa ilang liog, ug wala mamati sa imong mga sugo,

¹⁷And refused to obey, neither were mindful of thy wonders that thou didst among them; but hardened their necks, and in their rebellion appointed a captain to return to their bondage: but thou art a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and forsookest them not.

¹⁷Ug nanagdumili sa pagsugot, ni managpalandong sila sa imong mga katingalahan nga imong gibuhat sa taliwala nila, apan nagpatikig sa ilang liog, ug sa ilang pagsukol nanagtudlo ug usa ka capitan aron sa pagbalik ngadto sa ilang pagkaulipon. Apan ikaw usa ka Dios nga andam sa pagpasaylo, hupong sa gracia ug maloloy-on, mahinay sa kasuko, ug madagayaon sa mahigugmaong-kalolot, ug wala magsalikway kanila.

¹⁸Yea, when they had made them a molten calf, and said, This is thy God that brought thee up out of Egypt, and had wrought great provocations;

¹⁸Oo, sa diha nga sila minghimo ug usa ka tinunaw nga nating vaca, ug ming-ingon: Kini mao ang imong Dios nga nagdala kanimo gikan sa Egipto, ug naghimo sa dakung paghagit sa pagpakasuko ;

¹⁹Yet thou in thy manifold mercies forsookest them not in the wilderness: the pillar of the cloud departed not from them by day, to lead them in the way; neither the pillar of fire by night, to shew them light, and the way wherein they should go.

¹⁹Apan ikaw sa imong pinilo-pilo nga mga kalooy wala mosalikway kanila didto sa kamingawan: ang haligi nga panganod wala mobiya sa ibabaw nila sa adlaw, aron sa pagtultol kanila sa dalan; ni ang haligi nga kalayo sa pagkagabii, aron sa pagbanwag kanila sa kahayag, ug sa alagianan nga ilang pagaagian.

²⁰Thou gavest also thy good spirit to instruct them, and withheldest not thy manna from their mouth, and gavest them water for their thirst.

²⁰Ikaw usab naghatag sa imong maayong Espiritu aron sa pagtudlo kanila, ug wala magtungina sa manna gikan sa ilang baba, ug naghatag kanila sa tubig alang sa ilang kauhaw.

²¹Yea, forty years didst thou sustain them in the wilderness, so that they lacked nothing; their clothes waxed not old, and their feet swelled not.

²¹Oo, kap-atan ka tuig nga ikaw nag-alima kanila didto sa kamingawan, ug walay nakulang kanila; ang ilang mga bisti wala mangadaan, ug ang ilang mga tiil wala manghupong.

²²Moreover thou gavest them kingdoms and nations, and didst divide them into corners: so they possessed the land of Sihon, and the land of the king of Heshbon, and the land of Og king of Bashan.

²²Labut pa, ikaw naghatag kanila ug mga gingharian ug mga katawohan, nga imong gibahinbahin sumala sa ilang mga pahat: busa ilang gipanag-iya ang yuta sa Sihon, bisan ang yuta sa hari sa Hesbon, ug ang yuta sa Og nga hari sa Basan.

²³Their children also multipliedst thou as the stars of heaven, and broughtest them into the land, concerning which thou hadst promised to their fathers, that they should go in to possess it.

²³Ang ilang mga anak usab imong gipasanay ingon sa mga bitoon sa langit, ug imong gidala ngadto sa yuta sumala sa imong gipamulong sa ilang mga amahan, nga sila mangadto aron sa pagpanag-iya niini.

²⁴So the children went in and possessed the land, and thou subduedst before them the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, and gavest them into their hands, with their kings, and the people of the land, that they might do with them as they would.

²⁴Busa ang mga anak nangadto ug nanag-iya sa yuta, ug gidaug mo sa atubangan nila ang mga pumoluyo sa yuta, ang mga Canaanhon, ug gihatag sila sa ilang mga kamot, uban sa ilang mga hari, ug ang mga katawohan sa yuta, aron nga sila makabuhat kanila sumala sa ilang buot pagabuhaton .

²⁵And they took strong cities, and a fat land, and possessed houses full of all goods, wells digged, vineyards, and oliveyards, and fruit trees in abundance: so they did eat, and were filled, and became fat, and delighted themselves in thy great goodness.

²⁵Ug ilang gipanguha ang mga ciudad nga kinutaan, ug usa ka matambok nga yuta, ug gipanag-iya ang mga balay nga puno sa mga maayong butang, mga tangke nga kinalot, kaparrasan, ug mga kaolivahan, mga kahoy nga nangaputos sa mga bunga: busa sila nangaon, ug nangabusog, ug nangatambok, ug nanagkalipay sa ilang kaugalingon tungod sa imong dakung kaayohan.

²⁶Nevertheless they were disobedient, and rebelled against thee, and cast thy law behind their backs, and slew thy prophets which testified against them to turn them to thee, and they wrought great provocations.

²⁶Bisan pa niana sila nanagmasukihon, ug mingsukol batok kanimo, ug gitalikdan nila ang imong Kasugoan, ug gipamatay ang imong mga manalagna nga nanagpamatuod batok kanila aron sa pagpabalik kanila nganha kanimo pag-usab, ug sila nanagbuhat sa mga dagkung paghagit sa pagpakasuko.

²⁷Therefore thou deliveredst them into the hand of their enemies, who vexed them: and in the time of their trouble, when they cried unto thee, thou heardest them from heaven; and according to thy manifold mercies thou gavest them saviours, who saved them out of the hand of their enemies.

²⁷Busa ikaw nagtugyan kanila ngadto sa kamot sa ilang mga kabatok nga nagsakit kanila: ug sa panahon sa ilang kalisdanan sa mingtu-aw sila kanimo, ikaw nagpatalinghug gikan sa langit; ug sumala sa imong pinilo-pilo nga mga kalooy ikaw mihatag kanila ug mga manluluwas nga mingluwas kanila gikan sa kamot sa ilang mga kabatok.

²⁸But after they had rest, they did evil again before thee: therefore leftest thou them in the land of their enemies, so that they had the dominion over them: yet when they returned, and cried unto thee, thou heardest them from heaven; and many times didst thou deliver them according to thy mercies;

²⁸Ugaling sa tapus nga sila nakapahulay, nanaghimo sila ug dautan pag-usab sa imong atubangan, busa sila gibiyaan mo diha sa kamot sa ilang mga kaaway, mao nga sila namunoan ibabaw kanila: ngani sa mingbalik sila, ug mingsangpit kanimo, ikaw nagpatalinghug gikan sa langit; ug sa nakadaghan ikaw nagluwas kanila sumala sa imong mga kalooy.

²⁹And testifiedst against them, that thou mightest bring them again unto thy law: yet they dealt proudly, and hearkened not unto thy commandments, but sinned against thy judgments, (which if a man do, he shall live in them;) and withdrew the shoulder, and hardened their neck, and would not hear.

²⁹Ug nagpamatuod ka batok kanila aron nga madala mo sila pag-usab ngadto sa imong Kasugoan. Ugaling sila nagmapahitas-on pa gayud ug wala mamati sa imong mga sugo. Apan sila nakasala batok sa imong mga tulomanon (nga kong ang usa ka tawo magatuman, siya magakinabuhi tungod kanila), ug gipatalikod ang mga abaga, ug gipatikig ang ilang liog, ug wala mamati.

³⁰Yet many years didst thou forbear them, and testifiedst against them by thy spirit in thy prophets: yet would they not give ear: therefore gavest thou them into the hand of the people of the lands.

³⁰Ngani sa daghang katuigan ikaw nag-antus kanila, ug nagpamatuod batok kanila pinaagi sa imong Espiritu pinaagi sa imong mga manalagna: ugaling wala gayud sila mamati: busa imong gihatag sila ngadto sa kamot sa mga katawohan sa kayutaan.

³¹Nevertheless for thy great mercies' sake thou didst not utterly consume them, nor forsake them; for thou art a gracious and merciful God.

³¹Bisan pa niana tungod sa imong pinilo-pilo nga mga kalooy ikaw wala molaglag ni mosalikway kanila; tungod kay ikaw ang usa ka Dios nga puno sa gracia ug kalooy.

³²Now therefore, our God, the great, the mighty, and the terrible God, who keepest covenant and mercy, let not all the trouble seem little before thee, that hath come upon us, on our kings, on our princes, and on our priests, and on our prophets, and on our fathers, and on all thy people, since the time of the kings of Assyria unto this day.

³²Busa karon, Dios namo, ang daku, ang makagagahum, ug ang makalilisang nga Dios, nga nagabantay sa tugon ug sa mahigugmaong-kalolot, ayaw pagsud-onga nga daw diyutay lamang sa imong atubangan ang tanang mga kasakit, nga mingdangat kanamo, sa among mga hari, sa among mga principe, ug sa among mga sacerdote, ug sa among mga manalagna, ug sa among mga amahan, ug sa tanan mong katawohan, sukad sa panahon sa mga hari sa Asiria hangtud niining adlawa.

³³Howbeit thou art just in all that is brought upon us; for thou hast done right, but we have done wickedly:

³³Apan ikaw matarung sa tanan nga mingdangat kanamo; kay ikaw nagmaminatud-on, apan kami nagbuhat sa kadautan;

³⁴Neither have our kings, our princes, our priests, nor our fathers, kept thy law, nor hearkened unto thy commandments and thy testimonies, wherewith thou didst testify against them.

³⁴Ni ang among mga hari, ang among mga principe, ni ang among mga sacerdote, ni ang among mga amahan, nanagbantay sa imong Kasugoan, ni mingpatalinghug sa imong mga sugo ug sa imong mga pagpamatuod diin ikaw nagpamatuod batok kanila.

³⁵For they have not served thee in their kingdom, and in thy great goodness that thou gavest them, and in the large and fat land which thou gavest before them, neither turned they from their wicked works.

³⁵Kay sila wala mag-alagad kanimo sa ilang gingharian, ug sa imong dakung kaayohan nga imong gihatag kanila, ug sa daku ug matambok nga yuta nga imong gihatag sa ilang atubangan, ni mingtalikod sila gikan sa ilang dautan nga mga buhat.

³⁶Behold, we are servants this day, and for the land that thou gavest unto our fathers to eat the fruit thereof and the good thereof, behold, we are servants in it:

³⁶Ania karon, kami mga ulipon niining adlawa, ug tungod sa yuta nga imong gihatag sa among mga amahan aron sa pagkaon sa mga abut niana ug sa tanang maayo niana, ania karon, kami mga ulipon niining yutaa .

³⁷And it yieldeth much increase unto the kings whom thou hast set over us because of our sins: also they have dominion over our bodies, and over our cattle, at their pleasure, and we are in great distress.

³⁷Ug kini mihatag ug daghang abut sa mga hari nga imong gipahari kanamo tungod sa among mga sala: sila usab may gahum sa among mga lawas, ug sa among mga vaca, sumala sa ilang kabubut-on, ug kami ania sa dakung kasakit.

³⁸And because of all this we make a sure covenant, and write it; and our princes, Levites, and priests, seal unto it.

³⁸Ug ngani tungod niining tanan kami naghimo ug usa ka matinumanong tugon, ug gisulat kini: ug ang among mga principe, ang among mga Levihanon, ug ang among mga sacerdote, nanagtimaan niini.
