¹And all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night.

²And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness!

²Ug ang tanang mga anak sa Israel nanagbagulbol batok kang Moises, ug batok kang Aaron: ug ang tibook nga katilingban miingon kanila: Apat hinoon nangamatay kami didto sa yuta sa Egipto! o maayo pa unta kong nangamatay kami niining kamingawan!

³And wherefore hath the LORD brought us unto this land, to fall by the sword, that our wives and our children should be a prey? were it not better for us to return into Egypt?

³Ug ngano man nga gidala kami ni Jehova niining yutaa, aron mangapukan pinaagi sa espada? Ang among mga asawa ug ang among mga anak mamahimo nga tulokbonon dili ba labi pang maayo kanamo nga mamalik ngadto sa Egipto?

⁴And they said one to another, Let us make a captain, and let us return into Egypt.

⁴Ug nanag-ingon ang usa sa usa: Magbuhat kita ug usa ka capitan, ug mamalik kita ngadto sa Egipto.

⁵Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before all the assembly of the congregation of the children of Israel.

⁵Unya si Moises ug si Aaron mihapa sa atubangan sa tibook nga pagkatigum sa katilingban sa mga anak sa Israel.

⁶And Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of them that searched the land, rent their clothes:

⁶Ug si Josue, ang anak nga lalake ni Nun, ug si Caleb, ang anak nga lalake ni Jephone, sila kauban niadtong mga nanagpaniid sa yuta nanagpanggisi sa ilang mga bisti:

⁷And they spake unto all the company of the children of Israel, saying, The land, which we passed through to search it, is an exceeding good land.

⁷Ug nanagsulti sila sa tibook nga katilingban sa mga anak sa Israel, nga nagaingon: Ang yuta diin kami miagi sa pagpanud, mao ang yuta nga hilabihan gayud pagkaayo.

⁸If the LORD delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey.

⁸Kong si Jehova nahamuot kanato, sa ingon niana siya magapasulod kanato niining yutaa ug kini igahatag niya kanato; usa ka yuta nga nagapaagay sa gatas ug dugos.

⁹Only rebel not ye against the LORD, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defense is departed from them, and the LORD is with us: fear them not.

⁹Nga dili lamang unta kamo magmalalison batok kang Jehova, ni mahadlok sa katawohan mahitungod niining yutaa; kay sila ang tinapay alang kanato; ang ilang mga salipdanan kuhaon gikan sa ibabaw nila, ug si Jehova uban kanato ayaw kahadloki sila.

¹⁰But all the congregation bade stone them with stones. And the glory of the LORD appeared in the tabernacle of the congregation before all the children of Israel.

¹⁰Apan ang tibook katilingban nangayo sa pagsalibay kanila ug mga bato. Ug ang himaya ni Jehova nagpakita diha sa balong-balong nga pagatiguman ngadto sa tanan nga mga anak sa Israel.

¹¹And the LORD said unto Moses, How long will this people provoke me? and how long will it be ere they believe me, for all the signs which I have showed among them?

¹¹Ug si Jehova miingon kang Moises: Hangtud anus-a nga magatamay kanako kining katawohan? ug hangtud anus-a nga sila dili motuo kanako, tungod sa tanang mga ilhanan nga akong gibuhat sa taliwala nila?

¹²I will smite them with the pestilence, and disinherit them, and will make of thee a greater nation and mightier than they.

¹²Ako magapatay kanila uban ang hampak sa kamatay, ug sila akong isalikway aron dili makapanunod, ug pagabuhaton ko ikaw nga usa ka nasud nga labi pang daku ug labi pang kusgan kay kanila.

¹³And Moses said unto the LORD, Then the Egyptians shall hear it, (for thou broughtest up this people in thy might from among them;)

¹³Ug si Moises miingon kang Jehova: Unya makadungog niini ang mga Egiptohanon, kay sa taliwala nila gikuha mo kining katawohan sa imong pagkalig-on.

¹⁴And they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land: for they have heard that thou LORD art among this people, that thou LORD art seen face to face, and that thy cloud standeth over them, and that thou goest before them, by day time in a pillar of a cloud, and in a pillar of fire by night.

¹⁴Ug isugilon nila kini sa mga pumoluyo niining yutaa; nga sila nakadungog nga ikaw, oh Jehova, anaa sa taliwala niining katawohan; nga sa nawong ug nawong nakita ikaw, oh Jehova, ug ang imong panganod nagabarog sa ibabaw nila, ug sa adlaw ikaw nagalakaw sa pag-una kanila sa usa ka haligi nga panganod, ug sa kagabhion sa usa ka haligi nga kalayo:

¹⁵Now if thou shalt kill all this people as one man, then the nations which have heard the fame of thee will speak, saying,

¹⁵Karon kong imong pamatyon kining katawohan ingon sa usa ka tawo, nan unya ang mga nasud nga makadungog sa imong kadungganan managsulti, nga magaingon:

¹⁶Because the LORD was not able to bring this people into the land which he sware unto them, therefore he hath slain them in the wilderness.

¹⁶Tungod kay dili makahimo si Jehova sa pagpasulod niining katawohan ngadto sa yuta nga iyang gipanumpa kanila, busa iyang gipatay sila diha sa kamingawan.

¹⁷And now, I beseech thee, let the power of my Lord be great, according as thou hast spoken, saying,

¹⁷Ug karon, nagaampo ako kanimo, nga mahimong daku ang gahum sa Ginoo, sumala sa imong gipamulong, nga nagaingon:

¹⁸The LORD is long-suffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation.

¹⁸Si Jehova mahinay sa kasuko ug madagayaon sa mahigugmaong-kalolot, nga nagapsaylo sa pagkadautan ug sa paglapas; ug nga dili gayud magapakamatarung sa tawong sad-an , nga nagadu-aw siya sa kadautan sa mga amahan, ibabaw sa mga anak, ibabaw sa ikatolo ug ibabaw sa ikaupat nga kaliwatan.

¹⁹Pardon, I beseech thee, the iniquity of this people according unto the greatness of thy mercy, and as thou hast forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.

¹⁹Pasayloon mo, nangaliyupo ako kanimo, ang kadautan niining katawohan sumala sa pagkadaku sa imong mahigugmaong-kalolot, ug sumala sa pagpasaylo mo niining katawohan; sukad sa Egipto bisan hangtud karon.

²⁰And the LORD said, I have pardoned according to thy word:

²⁰Ug si Jehova miingon: Ako nagpasaylo kanila sumala sa imong pulong:

²¹But as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD.

²¹Apan sa pagkamatuod gayud, samtang ako buhi, ug samtang ang himaya ni Jehova nagapuno sa tibook kayutaan;

²²Because all those men which have seen my glory, and my miracles, which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have tempted me now these ten times, and have not hearkened to my voice;

²²Tungod kay kadtong tanang mga tawo nga nakakita sa akong himaya, ug sa akong mga ilhanan, nga akong gibuhat didto sa Egipto, ug didto sa kamingawan, bisan pa niana nagsulay kanako niini sa napulo ka pilo, ug wala managpatalinghug sa akong tingog;

²³Surely they shall not see the land which I sware unto their fathers, neither shall any of them that provoked me see it:

²³Sa pagkamatuod gayud dili sila makakita sa yuta nga gipanumpa ko sa ilang mga amahan, ni bisan kinsa kanila nga nagtamay kanako nga makakita niini:

²⁴But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it.

²⁴Apan ang akong alagad nga si Caleb, kay anaa kaniya ang lain nga espiritu, ug sa pagkahingpit nagsunod kanako, pagapasudlon ko siya ngadto sa yuta diin siya mosulod, ug ang iyang kaliwatan magapanag-iya niini.

²⁵(Now the Amalekites and the Canaanites dwelt in the valley.) Tomorrow turn you, and get you into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea.

²⁵Karon, ang Amalekahanon ug ang Canaanhon nanagpuyo diha sa walog; ugma bumalaik kamo ug umadto ngadto sa kamingawan pinaagi sa dalan ngadto sa Dagat nga Mapula.

²⁶And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,

²⁶Ug si Jehova misulti kang Moises ug kang Aaron, nga nagaingon:

²⁷How long shall I bear with this evil congregation, which murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against me.

²⁷Hangtud anus-a nga magaantus ako niining mangil-ad nga katilingban nga nagabagulbol batok kanako? Nabati ko ang mga pagbagulbol sa mga anak sa Israel, nga ilang gibagulbol batok kanako.

²⁸Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you:

²⁸Ipamulong mo kanila: Samtang ako buhi, nagaingon si Jehova, sa pagkamatuod gayud ingon sa inyong gisulti sa akong mga igdulungog, mao ang pagabuhaton ko kaninyo:

²⁹Your carcasses shall fall in this wilderness; and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward which have murmured against me.

²⁹Niini nga kamingawan mangapukan ang inyong mga lawas nga patay; ug ang tanang mga naisip kaninyo, sumala sa tanan ninyong gidaghanon, gikan sa kaluhaan ka tuig ang kagulangon ug ngadto sa itaas, kadto nga nanagbagulbol batok kanako,

³⁰Doubtless ye shall not come into the land, concerning which I sware to make you dwell therein, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.

³⁰Sa pagkamatuod gayud dili kamo makadangat ngadto sa yuta, sumala sa akong gipanumpa nga kamo makapuyo didto, gawas kang Caleb, ang anak nga lalake ni Jephone, ug kang Josue, ang anak nga lalake ni Nun.

³¹But your little ones, which ye said should be a prey, them will I bring in, and they shall know the land which ye have despised.

³¹Apan ang inyong mga bata nga gagmay, nga inyong giingon nga mao sila ang mga tulokbonon, ako magapasulod kanila, ug sila mahibalo sa yuta nga inyong gisalikway.

³²But as for you, your carcasses, they shall fall in this wilderness.

³²Apan alang kaninyo, ang inyong mga lawas nga patay mangapukan dinhi sa kamingawan.

³³And your children shall wander in the wilderness forty years, and bear your whoredoms, until your carcasses be wasted in the wilderness.

³³Ug ang inyong mga anak mahimong mga libud-suroy sa kamingawan sulod sa kapatan ka tuig, ug magadala sa inyong mga pagpakighilawas, hangtud nga ang inyong mga lawas nga patay mangaut-ut diha sa kamingawan.

³⁴After the number of the days in which ye searched the land, even forty days, each day for a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, even forty years, and ye shall know my breach of promise.

³⁴Ingon sa gidaghanon sa mga adlaw, sa inyong pagpaniid sa yuta, bisan sa kap-atan ka adlaw nga inyong gipaniiran kini , magadala kamo sa inyong kadautan sulod sa kap-atan ka tuig, maingon nga ang tagsa ka adlaw magaisip sa tagsa ka tuig, ug pagailhon ninyo ang akong pagtalikod.

³⁵I the LORD have said, I will surely do it unto all this evil congregation, that are gathered together against me: in this wilderness they shall be consumed, and there they shall die.

³⁵Ako, si Jehova, nagsulti: Sa pagkamatuod gayud mao kini ang pagabuhaton ko niining tibook katilingban nga dautan, nga nanagtingub sa pagbatok kanako: dinhi sa kamingawan mangaut-ut sila, ug didto sila mangamatay.

³⁶And the men, which Moses sent to search the land, who returned, and made all the congregation to murmur against him, by bringing up a slander upon the land,

³⁶Ug ang mga tawo nga gisugo ni Moises sa pagpaniid sa yuta, nga nanghibalik, ug nagaagda sa tibook nga katilingban sa pagbagulbol batok kaniya, pinaagi sa pagdala ug dautang taho batok sa yuta,

³⁷Even those men that did bring up the evil report upon the land, died by the plague before the LORD.

³⁷Bisan kadtong mga tawo nga nanagdala ug dautang taho mahatungod sa yuta, nangamatay pinaagi sa hampak sa atubangan ni Jehova.

³⁸But Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of the men that went to search the land, lived still.

³⁸Apan si Josue, ang anak nga lalake ni Nun, ug si Caleb, ang anak nga lalake ni Jephone, nga kauban niadtong mga tawo nga miadto sa pagpaniid sa yuta, nanghibilin nga mga buhi.

³⁹And Moses told these sayings unto all the children of Israel: and the people mourned greatly.

³⁹Ug si Moises misugilon niining mga pulonga sa tanang mga anak sa Israel: ug ang katawohan nanagbalata sa hilabihan.

⁴⁰And they rose up early in the morning, and gat them up into the top of the mountain, saying, Lo, we be here, and will go up unto the place which the LORD hath promised: for we have sinned.

⁴⁰Ug sila mibangon sa pagsayo sa pagkabuntag, ug mitungas sila sa kinatumyan sa bukid, nga nagaingon: Ania kita karon dinhi, ug motungas ngadto sa dapit nga gisaad ni Jehova: kay nakasala kita.

⁴¹And Moses said, Wherefore now do ye transgress the commandment of the LORD? but it shall not prosper.

⁴¹Ug si Moises miingon: Ngano nga ginalapas ninyo ang sugo ni Jehova, sa pagtan-aw nga kini dili mouswag?

⁴²Go not up, for the LORD is not among you; that ye be not smitten before your enemies.

⁴²Dili kamo manungas, kay si Jehova wala sa taliwala ninyo; aron dili kamo pagapatyon sa atubangan sa inyong mga kaaway.

⁴³For the Amalekites and the Canaanites are there before you, and ye shall fall by the sword: because ye are turned away from the LORD, therefore the LORD will not be with you.

⁴³Kay ang Amalekahanon, ug ang Canaanhon anaa sa atubangan ninyo ug mangapukan kamo sa espada: tungod kay mitalikod kamo gikan sa pagsunod kang Jehova, busa si Jehova dili magauban kaninyo.

⁴⁴But they presumed to go up unto the hill top: nevertheless the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and Moses, departed not out of the camp.

⁴⁴Apan sila nanagpadayon sa pagtungas ngadto sa kinatumyan sa bukid: bisan pa niana ang arca sa tugon ni Jehova, ug ni Moises, wala mobulag sa campo.

⁴⁵Then the Amalekites came down, and the Canaanites which dwelt in that hill, and smote them, and discomfited them, even unto Hormah.

⁴⁵Unya ang Amalekahanon nanlugsong ug ang Canaanhon nga nagpuyo niadtong bukira, ug mipatay kanila, ug minglaglag kanila, bisan hangtud ngadto sa Horma.
