¹Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.

¹ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲉⲑⲛⲁϩϯ ϫⲉ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲟⲩⲙⲓⲥⲓ ⲡⲉ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲫϯ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲉⲑⲙⲉⲓ ⳿ⲙⲫⲏⲉⲧⲁϥⲙⲓⲥⲓ ⳿ϥⲙⲉⲓ ⲟⲛ ⳿ⲙⲫⲏⲉⲧⲁⲩⲙⲁⲥϥ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⳿ⲛϧⲏⲧϥ.

²By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.

²ϧⲉⲛ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲧⲉⲛⲛⲁ⳿ⲉⲙⲓ ϫⲉ ⲧⲉⲛⲉⲣⲁⲅⲁⲡⲁⲛ ⳿ⲛⲛⲓϣⲏⲣⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲫϯ ⲉϣⲱⲡ ⲁⲛϣⲁⲛⲙⲉⲛⲣⲉ ⲫϯ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲛ⳿ⲓⲣⲓ ⳿ⲛⲛⲉϥⲉⲛⲧⲟⲗⲏ.

³For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

³ⲑⲁⲓ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲧⲉ ϯⲁⲅⲁⲡⲏ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲫϯ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲛ⳿ⲁⲣⲉϩ ⳿ⲉⲛⲉϥⲉⲛⲧⲟⲗⲏ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲉϥⲉⲛⲧⲟⲗⲏ ⲥⲉϩⲟⲣϣ ⲁⲛ.

⁴For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

⁴ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲙⲁⲥϥ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲫϯ ϣⲁϥϭⲣⲟ ⳿ⲉⲡⲓⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲓϭⲣⲟ ⲉⲧⲁϥϭⲣⲟ ⳿ⲉⲡⲓⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ ⲡⲉⲛⲛⲁϩϯ ⲡⲉ.

⁵Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

⁵ⲛⲓⲙ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉ ⲫⲏⲉⲧϭⲣⲏⲟⲩⲧ ⳿ⲉⲡⲓⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ ⳿ⲉⲃⲏⲗ ⳿ⲉⲫⲏⲉⲑⲛⲁϩϯ ϫⲉ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ ⲡⲉ ⳿ⲡϣⲏⲣⲓ ⳿ⲙⲫϯ.

⁶This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.

⁶ⲫⲁⲓ ⲡⲉ ⲫⲏⲉⲧⲁϥ⳿ⲓ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲟⲩ⳿ⲥⲛⲟϥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲟⲩⲡ͞ⲛⲁ̅ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲙⲙⲁⲩⲁⲧϥ ⲁⲛ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲛⲉⲙ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲙ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓ⳿ⲥⲛⲟϥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲓⲡ͞ⲛⲁ̅ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲣⲙⲉⲑⲣⲉ ϫⲉ ⲡⲓⲡ͞ⲛⲁ̅ ⲡⲉ ϯⲙⲉⲑⲙⲏⲓ.

⁷For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

⁷ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲏⲓ ⲅ̅ ⲛⲉ ⲛⲏⲉⲧⲉⲣⲙⲉⲑⲣⲉ.

⁸And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

⁸ⲡⲓⲡ͞ⲛⲁ̅ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲡⲓⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲡⲓ⳿ⲥⲛⲟϥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲓⲅ̅ ⲥⲉϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲁⲓ.

⁹If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.

⁹ⲓⲥϫⲉ ⲧⲉⲛϭⲓ ⳿ⲛϯⲙⲉⲧⲙⲉⲑⲣⲉ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲛⲓⲣⲱⲙⲓ ϯⲙⲉⲧⲙⲉⲑⲣⲉ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲫϯ ⲟⲩⲛⲓϣϯ ⲧⲉ ⳿ⲛϩⲟⲩ⳿ⲟ ϫⲉ ⲑⲁⲓ ⲧⲉ ϯⲙⲉⲧⲙⲉⲑⲣⲉ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲫϯ ϫⲉ ⲁϥⲉⲣⲙⲉⲑⲣⲉ ϧⲁ ⲡⲉϥϣⲏⲣⲓ.

¹⁰He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.

¹⁰ⲫⲏⲉⲑⲛⲁϩϯ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲡϣⲏⲣⲓ ⳿ⲥϣⲟⲡ ⳿ⲛϧⲏⲧϥ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ϯⲙⲉⲧⲙⲉⲑⲣⲉ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲫϯ ⲫⲏⲉⲧⲉ⳿ⲛ⳿ϥⲛⲁϩϯ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲡϣⲏⲣⲓ ⳿ⲙⲫϯ ⲁⲛ ⲁϥⲁⲓϥ ⳿ⲛⲥⲁⲙⲉⲑⲛⲟⲩϫ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉϥⲛⲁϩϯ ⳿ⲉϯⲙⲉⲧⲙⲉⲑⲣⲉ ⲑⲏ ⲉⲧⲁϥⲉⲣⲙⲉⲑⲣⲉ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲫϯ ϧⲁ ⲡⲉϥϣⲏⲣⲓ.

¹¹And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

¹¹ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲑⲁⲓ ⲧⲉ ϯⲙⲉⲧⲙⲉⲑⲣⲉ ϫⲉ ⲁϥϯ ⲛⲁⲛ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲛϧ ⳿ⲛⲉⲛⲉϩ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲫϯ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲁⲓⲱⲛϧ ⲁϥϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲉϥϣⲏⲣⲓ.

¹²He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

¹²ⲫⲏⲉⲧⲉ ⳿ⲡϣⲏⲣⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲟⲧϥ ⳿ⲡⲱⲛϧ ⳿ⲛⲧⲟⲧϥ ⲫⲏⲉⲧⲉ ⳿ⲡϣⲏⲣⲓ ⳿ⲙⲫϯ ⳿ⲛⲧⲟⲧϥ ⲁⲛ ⳿ⲡⲱⲛϧ ⳿ⲛⲧⲟⲧϥ ⲁⲛ.

¹³These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

¹³ⲛⲁⲓ ⲁⲓ⳿ⲥϧⲏⲧⲟⲩ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛ⳿ⲉⲙⲓ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⳿ⲛⲧⲟⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲛϧ ⳿ⲛⲉⲛⲉϩ ⲛⲏⲉⲑⲛⲁϩϯ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲫⲣⲁⲛ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓϣⲏⲣⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲫϯ.

¹⁴And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

¹⁴ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲑⲁⲓ ⲧⲉ ϯⲡⲁⲣⲣⲏⲥⲓⲁ ⲉⲧⲉ⳿ⲛⲧⲁⲛ ⳿ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ϩⲁⲣⲟϥ ϫⲉ ⲫⲏⲉⲧⲉⲛⲛⲁⲉⲣⲉⲧⲓⲛ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲡⲉϥⲟⲩⲱϣ ϣⲁϥⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟⲛ.

¹⁵And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

¹⁵ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉϣⲱⲡ ⲁⲛϣⲁⲛⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⳿ϥⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟⲛ ⳿ⲙⲫⲏⲉⲧⲉⲛⲛⲁⲉⲣⲉⲧⲓⲛ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲧⲉⲛⲥⲱⲟⲩⲛ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲟⲛⲧⲁⲛ ⳿ⲛⲛⲉⲛⲉⲧⲏⲙⲁ ⲛⲏⲉⲧⲉⲛⲛⲁⲉⲣⲉⲧⲓⲛ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲟⲧϥ.

¹⁶If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.

¹⁶ⲉϣⲱⲡ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲛⲁⲩ ⳿ⲉⲡⲉϥⲥⲟⲛ ⲉϥⲉⲣⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲫⲙⲟⲩ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲙⲁⲣⲉϥⲉⲣⲉⲧⲓⲛ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲩ⳿ⲉϯ ⲛⲁϥ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲛϧ ⲛⲏⲉⲧⲉⲣⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⳿ⲙⲫⲁ ⳿ⲫⲙⲟⲩ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⲉϥϭⲓ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲫⲙⲟⲩ ⲛⲁⲓϫⲉⲣⲉ ⲫⲏ ⳿ⲉⲧⲉ⳿ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲁⲛ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉϥⲧⲱⲃϩ ⲉⲑⲃⲏⲧϥ.

¹⁷All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.

¹⁷ϭⲓ⳿ⲛϫⲟⲛⲥ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⲉϥϭⲓ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲫⲙⲟⲩ ⲁⲛ.

¹⁸We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

¹⁸ⲧⲉⲛ⳿ⲉⲙⲓ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲙⲁⲥϥ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲫϯ ⳿ⲙⲡⲁϥⲉⲣⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲡⲓⲙⲓⲥⲓ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⳿ⲙⲫϯ ϣⲁϥ⳿ⲁⲣⲉϩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲙⲡⲁⲣⲉ ⲡⲓⲡⲟⲛⲏ ⲣⲟⲥ ϭⲓ ⲛⲉⲙⲁϥ.

¹⁹And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.

¹⁹ⲧⲉⲛⲥⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲇⲉ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ϩⲁⲛ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⳿ⲙⲫϯ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲓⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ ⲧⲏⲣϥ ⲁϥⲭⲏ ϧⲁ ⲡⲓⲡⲉⲧϩⲱⲟⲩ.

²⁰And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

²⁰ⲧⲉⲛⲥⲟⲩⲱⲛ ⲇⲉ ϫⲉ ⲁϥ⳿ⲓ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⳿ⲡϣⲏⲣⲓ ⳿ⲙⲫϯ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥϯ ⲛⲁⲛ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩ⳿ⲉⲙⲓ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲛⲥⲟⲩⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲁⲗⲏⲑⲓⲛⲟⲥ ⳿ⲛⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲧⲉⲛϣⲟⲡ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲉϥϣⲏⲣⲓ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲓⲁⲗⲏⲑⲓⲛⲟⲥ ⳿ⲛⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲡⲓⲱⲛϧ ⳿ⲛⲉⲛⲉϩ.

²¹Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.

²¹ⲛⲁϣⲏⲣⲓ ⳿ⲁⲣⲉϩ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲁ ⲛⲓ⳿ⲓⲇⲱⲗⲟⲛ ⲓⲱⲁⲛⲛⲟⲩ ⲉⲡⲓⲥⲧⲟⲗⲏ ⲁ̅
