¹And God spake all these words, saying,

¹I mluvil Bůh všecka slova tato, řka:

²I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

²Já jsem Hospodin Bůh tvůj, kterýž jsem tě vyvedl z země Egyptské, z domu služby.

³Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

³Nebudeš míti bohů jiných přede mnou.

⁴Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

⁴Neučiníš sobě rytiny, ani jakého podobenství těch věcí, kteréž jsou na nebi svrchu, ani těch, kteréž na zemi dole, ani těch, kteréž u vodách pod zemí.

⁵Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

⁵Nebudeš se jim klaněti, ani jich ctíti. Nebo já jsem Hospodin Bůh tvůj, Bůh silný, horlivý, navštěvující nepravost otců na synech do třetího i čtvrtého pokolení těch, kteříž nenávidí mne,

⁶And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

⁶A činící milosrdenství nad tisíci těmi, kteříž mne milují, a ostříhají přikázaní mých.

⁷Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

⁷Nevezmeš jména Hospodina Boha svého nadarmo; neboť nenechá bez pomsty Hospodin toho, kdož by bral jméno jeho nadarmo.

⁸Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

⁸Pomni na den sobotní, abys jej světil.

⁹Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work:

⁹Šest dní pracovati budeš, a dělati všeliké dílo své;

¹⁰But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

¹⁰Ale dne sedmého odpočinutí jest Hospodina Boha tvého. Nebudeš dělati žádného díla, ty i syn tvůj i dcera tvá, služebník tvůj i děvka tvá, hovado tvé i příchozí, kterýž jest v branách tvých.

¹¹For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

¹¹Nebo v šesti dnech učinil Hospodin nebe a zemi, moře a všecko, což v nich jest, a odpočinul dne sedmého; protož požehnal Hospodin dne sobotního, a posvětil ho.

¹²Honor thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

¹²Cti otce svého i matku svou, ať se prodlejí dnové tvoji na zemi, kterouž Hospodin Bůh tvůj dá tobě.

¹³Thou shalt not kill.

¹³Nezabiješ.

¹⁴Thou shalt not commit adultery.

¹⁴Nesesmilníš.

¹⁵Thou shalt not steal.

¹⁵Nepokradeš.

¹⁶Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.

¹⁶Nepromluvíš proti bližnímu svému křivého svědectví.

¹⁷Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbor's.

¹⁷Nepožádáš domu bližního svého, aniž požádáš manželky bližního svého, ani služebníka jeho, ani děvky jeho, ani vola jeho, ani osla jeho, ani cožkoli jest bližního tvého.

¹⁸And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off.

¹⁸Veškeren pak lid viděl hřímání to a blýskání, a zvuk trouby, a horu kouřící se. To když viděl lid, pohnuli se a stáli zdaleka.

¹⁹And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die.

¹⁹A řekli Mojžíšovi: Mluv ty s námi, a poslouchati budeme; a nechť nemluví s námi Bůh, abychom nezemřeli.

²⁰And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.

²⁰Odpověděl Mojžíš lidu: Nebojte se; nebo pro zkušení vás sám Bůh přišel, aby bázeň jeho byla mezi vámi, abyste nehřešili.

²¹And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near unto the thick darkness where God was.

²¹Tedy stál lid zdaleka; Mojžíš pak přistoupil k mrákotě, kdež byl Bůh.

²²And the LORD said unto Moses, Thus thou shalt say unto the children of Israel, Ye have seen that I have talked with you from heaven.

²²I řekl Hospodin Mojžíšovi: Tak povíš synům Izraelským: Vy jste sami viděli, že s nebe mluvil jsem s vámi.

²³Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold.

²³Protož nevyzdvihujte ničehož ku poctě se mnou; bohů stříbrných a bohů zlatých neučiníte sobě.

²⁴An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee.

²⁴Oltář z země uděláš mi a obětovati budeš na něm zápaly své, a pokojné oběti své, ovce své a voly své. Na kterémkoli místě rozkáži slaviti památku jména svého, přijdu k tobě a požehnám tobě.

²⁵And if thou wilt make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone: for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it.

²⁵Jestliže mi pak vzděláš oltář kamenný, nedělej ho z kamene tesaného; nebo jestliže pozdvihneš železa na něj, poškvrníš ho.

²⁶Neither shalt thou go up by steps unto mine altar, that thy nakedness be not discovered thereon.

²⁶Aniž po stupních vstupovati budeš k oltáři mému, aby hanba tvá u něho odkryta nebyla.
