¹This then was the lot of the tribe of the children of Judah by their families; even to the border of Edom the wilderness of Zin southward was the uttermost part of the south coast.

²And their south border was from the shore of the salt sea, from the bay that looketh southward:

²I byla jejich meze polední kraj moře slaného od zátoky, kteráž se chýlí ku poledni.

³And it went out to the south side to Maalehacrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and ascended up on the south side unto Kadeshbarnea, and passed along to Hezron, and went up to Adar, and fetched a compass to Karkaa:

³Odkudž jda na poledne k vrchu Akrabim, přechází Tsin, a táhne se od poledne k Kádesbarne, i přichází až do Ezron, a odtud točí se k Addar, a obchází Karkaha.

⁴From thence it passed toward Azmon, and went out unto the river of Egypt; and the goings out of that coast were at the sea: this shall be your south coast.

⁴Odtud jde do Asmona, a vychází ku potoku Egyptskému, a přichází meze ta až k západu. To budete míti pomezí na poledne.

⁵And the east border was the salt sea, even unto the end of Jordan. And their border in the north quarter was from the bay of the sea at the uttermost part of Jordan:

⁵Meze pak na východ jest moře slané, až k kraji Jordánu, a meze strany půlnoční jest od zátoky moře a od kraje Jordánu.

⁶And the border went up to Bethhogla, and passed along by the north of Betharabah; and the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben:

⁶Odkudž jde meze ta do Betogla, a táhne se od půlnoci do Betaraba; a odtud přichází k kameni Bohana syna Rubenova.

⁷And the border went up toward Debir from the valley of Achor, and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that is before the going up to Adummim, which is on the south side of the river: and the border passed toward the waters of Enshemesh, and the goings out thereof were at Enrogel:

⁷A vstupuje ta meze do Dabir od údolí Achor, a na půlnoci chýlí se k Galgala, kteréž jest naproti vcházení do Adomim, jenž jest údolí tomu ku poledni, a přechází k vodám Ensemes, a skonává se u studnice Rogel.

⁸And the border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom unto the south side of the Jebusite; the same is Jerusalem: and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lieth before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the end of the valley of the giants northward:

⁸Odtud jde ta meze přes údolí synů Hinnom k straně Jebus od poledne, jenž jest Jeruzalém, odkudž vstupuje táž meze k vrchu hory, kteráž jest naproti údolí Hinnom na západ, a kteráž jest na konci údolí Refaim na půlnoci.

⁹And the border was drawn from the top of the hill unto the fountain of the water of Nephtoah, and went out to the cities of mount Ephron; and the border was drawn to Baalah, which is Kirjathjearim:

⁹Obchází pak ta meze od vrchu té hory k studnici vody Neftoa, a vychází k městům hory Efron; a odtud jde ta meze do Bála, jenž jest Kariatjeharim.

¹⁰And the border compassed from Baalah westward unto mount Seir, and passed along unto the side of mount Jearim, which is Chesalon, on the north side, and went down to Bethshemesh, and passed on to Timnah:

¹⁰Potom točí se ta meze od Bála na západ k hoře Seir, a odtud jde k straně hory Jeharimských od půlnoci, jenž jest Cheslon, a sstupuje do Betsemes, a přichází do Tamna.

¹¹And the border went out unto the side of Ekron northward: and the border was drawn to Shicron, and passed along to mount Baalah, and went out unto Jabneel; and the goings out of the border were at the sea.

¹¹A vychází ta meze v stranu Akaron na půlnoci, a točí se vůkol k Sechronu, a přechází až k hoře Bála, a odtud táhne se do Jebnael, i dochází ta meze k moři.

¹²And the west border was to the great sea, and the coast thereof. This is the coast of the children of Judah round about according to their families.

¹²Potom západní pomezí jest při moři velikém a mezech jeho. To jest pomezí synů Juda vůkol, po čeledech jejich.

¹³And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a part among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua, even the city of Arba the father of Anak, which city is Hebron.

¹³Kálefovi pak, synu Jefone, dal díl u prostřed synů Juda, podlé řeči Hospodinovy k Jozue, město Arbe, otce Enakova, jenž jest Hebron.

¹⁴And Caleb drove thence the three sons of Anak, Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak.

¹⁴I vyhnal odtud Kálef tři syny Enakovy: Sesai a Achimana a Tolmai, rodinu Enakovu.

¹⁵And he went up thence to the inhabitants of Debir: and the name of Debir before was Kirjathsepher.

¹⁵A odtud vstoupil k obyvatelům Dabir, kteréž prvé sloulo Kariatsefer.

¹⁶And Caleb said, He that smiteth Kirjathsepher, and taketh it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife.

¹⁶I řekl Kálef: Kdo by dobyl Kariatsefer a vzal je, dám jemu Axu dceru svou za manželku.

¹⁷And Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife.

¹⁷Dobyl ho pak Otoniel syn Cenezův, příbuzný Kálefův, i dal jemu Axu dceru svou za manželku.

¹⁸And it came to pass, as she came unto him, that she moved him to ask of her father a field: and she lighted off her ass; and Caleb said unto her, What wouldest thou?

¹⁸I stalo se, že když přišla k němu, ponukla ho, aby prosil otce jejího za pole; protož ssedla s osla. I řekl jí Kálef: Což tě?

¹⁹Who answered, Give me a blessing; for thou hast given me a south land; give me also springs of water. And he gave her the upper springs, and the nether springs.

¹⁹A ona odpověděla: Dej mi dar, poněvadž jsi mi dal zemi suchou, dejž mi také studnice vod. I dal jí studnice horní a studnice dolní.

²¹And the uttermost cities of the tribe of the children of Judah toward the coast of Edom southward were Kabzeel, and Eder, and Jagur,

²¹Tato pak jsou města v končinách pokolení synů Juda, podlé pomezí Edom na poledne: Kabsael, Eder a Jagur;

²²And Kinah, and Dimonah, and Adadah,

²²A Cina, a Dimona, a Adada;

²³And Kedesh, and Hazor, and Ithnan,

²³A Kedes, a Azor, a Jetnan;

²⁴Ziph, and Telem, and Bealoth,

²⁴Zif a Telem, a Balot;

²⁵And Hazor, Hadattah, and Kerioth, and Hezron, which is Hazor,

²⁵Též Azor, Chadat a Kariot, Ezron, jenž jest Azor;

²⁶Amam, and Shema, and Moladah,

²⁶Amam a Sama, a Molada;

²⁷And Hazargaddah, and Heshmon, and Bethpalet,

²⁷A Azar Gadda, a Esmon, a Betfelet;

²⁸And Hazarshual, and Beersheba, and Bizjothjah,

²⁸Též Azarsual, a Bersabé, a Baziothia;

²⁹Baalah, and Iim, and Azem,

³⁵Jarmuth, and Adullam, Socoh, and Azekah,

³⁵Jarmut, Adulam, Socho a Azeka;

³⁶And Sharaim, and Adithaim, and Gederah, and Gederothaim; fourteen cities with their villages:

³⁶A Saraim, Aditaim, a Gedera, a Gederotaim, měst čtrnácte i vsi jejich;

³⁷Zenan, and Hadashah, and Migdalgad,

³⁷Senan a Adassa, a Magdalgad;

³⁸And Dilean, and Mizpeh, and Joktheel,

³⁸Delean a Masfa, a Jektehel;

³⁹Lachish, and Bozkath, and Eglon,

³⁹Lachis, Baskat a Eglon;

⁴⁰And Cabbon, and Lahmam, and Kithlish,

⁴⁰Chebon, Lemam a Cetlis;

⁴¹And Gederoth, Bethdagon, and Naamah, and Makkedah; sixteen cities with their villages:

⁴¹Gederot, Betdagon, a Naama, i Maceda, měst šestnáct a vsi jejich;

⁴²Libnah, and Ether, and Ashan,

⁴²Lebna, Eter a Asan;

⁴³And Jiphtah, and Ashnah, and Nezib,

⁴³Jefta, Asna a Nesib;

⁴⁴And Keilah, and Achzib, and Mareshah; nine cities with their villages:

⁴⁴Ceila, Achzib a Maresa, měst devět i vsi jejich;

⁴⁵Ekron, with her towns and her villages:

⁴⁵Akaron a městečka, i vsi jeho;

⁴⁶From Ekron even unto the sea, all that lay near Ashdod, with their villages:

⁴⁶Od Akaron až k moři všecka města, kteráž se chýlí k Azotu, i vsi jejich;

⁴⁷Ashdod with her towns and her villages, Gaza with her towns and her villages, unto the river of Egypt, and the great sea, and the border thereof:

⁴⁷Azot, městečka jeho i vsi jeho; Gáza, městečka jeho i vsi jeho až ku potoku Egyptskému, i moře veliké s pomezím svým.

⁴⁸And in the mountains, Shamir, and Jattir, and Socoh,

⁴⁸A na horách: Samir, Jeter a Socho;

⁴⁹And Dannah, and Kirjathsannah, which is Debir,

⁴⁹Danna a město Sanna, jenž jest Dabir;

⁵⁰And Anab, and Eshtemoh, and Anim,

⁵⁰Anab, Estemo a Anim;

⁵¹And Goshen, and Holon, and Giloh; eleven cities with their villages:

⁵¹Gosen, Holon a Gilo, měst jedenácte i vsi jejich;

⁵²Arab, and Dumah, and Eshean,

⁵²Arab, Duma a Esan;

⁵³And Janum, and Bethtappuah, and Aphekah,

⁵³Janum, Bettafua a Afeka;

⁵⁴And Humtah, and Kirjatharba, which is Hebron, and Zior; nine cities with their villages:

⁵⁴Též Atmata a Kariatarbe, jenž jest Hebron, a Sior, měst devět a vsi jejich.

⁵⁵Maon, Carmel, and Ziph, and Juttah,

⁵⁵Maon, Karmel a Zif, a Juta;

⁵⁶And Jezreel, and Jokdeam, and Zanoah,

⁵⁶Jezreel a Jukadam, a Zanoe;

⁵⁷Cain, Gibeah, and Timnah; ten cities with their villages:

⁵⁷Kain, Gabaa a Tamna, měst deset i vsi jejich;

⁵⁸Halhul, Bethzur, and Gedor,

⁵⁸Alul, Betsur a Gedor;

⁵⁹And Maarath, and Bethanoth, and Eltekon; six cities with their villages:

⁵⁹Maret, Betanot a Eltekon, měst šest i vsi jejich;

⁶⁰Kirjathbaal, which is Kirjathjearim, and Rabbah; two cities with their villages:

⁶⁰Kariatbaal, kteréž jest Kariatjeharim, a Rebba, města dvě i vsi jejich;

⁶¹In the wilderness, Betharabah, Middin, and Secacah,

⁶¹Na poušti: Betaraba, Middin a Sechacha;

⁶²And Nibshan, and the city of Salt, and Engedi; six cities with their villages.

⁶²A Nibsam, a město solné, a Engadi, měst šest i vsi jejich.

⁶³As for the Jebusites the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah could not drive them out; but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Judah at Jerusalem unto this day.

⁶³Jebuzejských pak obyvatelů Jeruzaléma nemohli synové Juda vypléniti, protož bydlil Jebuzejský s syny Judskými v Jeruzalémě až do tohoto dne.
