¹And Samuel said unto all Israel, Behold, I have hearkened unto your voice in all that ye said unto me, and have made a king over you.

¹ Dywedodd Samuel wrth holl Israel, "Edrychwch, yr wyf wedi gwrando ar bopeth a ddywedasoch wrthyf, a gosod brenin arnoch.

²And now, behold, the king walketh before you: and I am old and grayheaded; and, behold, my sons are with you: and I have walked before you from my childhood unto this day.

² Yn awr, dyma'r brenin fydd yn eich arwain. Yr wyf fi'n hen a phenwyn, ac y mae fy meibion gyda chwi. B�m yn eich arwain, o'm hieuenctid hyd heddiw.

³Behold, here I am: witness against me before the LORD, and before his anointed: whose ox have I taken? or whose ass have I taken? or whom have I defrauded? whom have I oppressed? or of whose hand have I received any bribe to blind mine eyes therewith? and I will restore it you.

³ Dyma fi; tystiwch yn f'erbyn gerbron yr ARGLWYDD a'i eneiniog: a gymerais ych unrhyw un? A gymerais asyn unrhyw un? A dwyllais rywun? A orthrymais rywun? A dderbyniais gil-dwrn oddi wrth rywun i gau fy llygaid? Dewch � thystiolaeth, ac fe'i rhoddaf yn �l."

⁴And they said, Thou hast not defrauded us, nor oppressed us, neither hast thou taken ought of any man's hand.

⁴ Ond dywedasant, "Nid wyt ti wedi'n twyllo na'n gorthrymu, nac wedi cymryd dim gan neb."

⁵And he said unto them, The LORD is witness against you, and his anointed is witness this day, that ye have not found ought in my hand. And they answered, He is witness.

⁵ Yna dywedodd wrthynt, "Y mae'r ARGLWYDD yn dyst yn eich erbyn heddiw, a'i eneiniog hefyd, na chawsoch un dim yn fy meddiant." "Ydyw, y mae'n dyst," meddai'r bobl.

⁶And Samuel said unto the people, It is the LORD that advanced Moses and Aaron, and that brought your fathers up out of the land of Egypt.

⁶ Dywedodd Samuel, "Y tyst yw yr ARGLWYDD, a gododd Moses ac Aaron, ac a ddygodd eich hynafiaid i fyny o wlad yr Aifft;

⁷Now therefore stand still, that I may reason with you before the LORD of all the righteous acts of the LORD, which he did to you and to your fathers.

⁷ felly safwch mewn trefn er mwyn imi ymresymu � chwi gerbron yr ARGLWYDD, ynglu375?n �'r holl weithredoedd achubol a wnaeth yr ARGLWYDD drosoch chwi a'ch hynafiaid.

⁸When Jacob was come into Egypt, and your fathers cried unto the LORD, then the LORD sent Moses and Aaron, which brought forth your fathers out of Egypt, and made them dwell in this place.

⁸ Wedi i Jacob ddod i lawr i'r Aifft, gwaeddodd eich hynafiaid ar yr ARGLWYDD; anfonodd yntau Moses ac Aaron, a daethant hwy �'ch hynafiaid allan o'r Aifft a'u rhoi i fyw yn y lle hwn.

⁹And when they forgat the LORD their God, he sold them into the hand of Sisera, captain of the host of Hazor, and into the hand of the Philistines, and into the hand of the king of Moab, and they fought against them.

⁹ Ond oherwydd iddynt anghofio'r ARGLWYDD eu Duw, gwerthodd hwy i law Sisera, pennaeth byddin Hasor, ac i'r Philistiaid, ac i frenin Moab; a bu'r rhain yn rhyfela yn eu herbyn.

¹⁰And they cried unto the LORD, and said, We have sinned, because we have forsaken the LORD, and have served Baalim and Ashtaroth: but now deliver us out of the hand of our enemies, and we will serve thee.

¹⁰ Yna bu iddynt weiddi ar yr ARGLWYDD a dweud, 'Yr ydym ar fai am inni gefnu ar yr ARGLWYDD ac addoli'r Baalim a'r Astaroth; ond yn awr, achub ni o law ein gelynion, ac fe'th addolwn di.'

¹¹And the LORD sent Jerubbaal, and Bedan, and Jephthah, and Samuel, and delivered you out of the hand of your enemies on every side, and ye dwelled safe.

¹¹ Anfonodd yr ARGLWYDD Jerwbbaal, Bedan, Jefftha a Samuel, a gwaredodd chwi o law y gelynion o'ch cwmpas, a chawsoch fyw'n ddiogel.

¹²And when ye saw that Nahash the king of the children of Ammon came against you, ye said unto me, Nay; but a king shall reign over us: when the LORD your God was your king.

¹² Ond pan welsoch Nahas brenin yr Ammoniaid yn dod yn eich erbyn, dywedasoch wrthyf, 'Na, rhaid cael brenin i deyrnasu arnom', er bod yr ARGLWYDD eich Duw yn frenin arnoch.

¹³Now therefore behold the king whom ye have chosen, and whom ye have desired! and, behold, the LORD hath set a king over you.

¹³ Yn awr, dyma'r brenin yr ydych wedi ei ddewis a gofyn amdano; ydyw, y mae'r ARGLWYDD wedi rhoi brenin i chwi.

¹⁴If ye will fear the LORD, and serve him, and obey his voice, and not rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then shall both ye and also the king that reigneth over you continue following the LORD your God:

¹⁴ Os byddwch yn ofni'r ARGLWYDD, ac yn ei addoli ef ac yn ufuddhau iddo heb wrthryfela yn erbyn ei orchymyn, ac os byddwch chwi a'r brenin a osodir arnoch yn dilyn yr ARGLWYDD eich Duw, popeth yn dda.

¹⁵But if ye will not obey the voice of the LORD, but rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then shall the hand of the LORD be against you, as it was against your fathers.

¹⁵ Ond os na wrandewch ar yr ARGLWYDD, ond gwrthryfela yn erbyn ei orchymyn, yna bydd llaw yr ARGLWYDD yn eich erbyn chwi a'ch brenin i'ch difa.

¹⁶Now therefore stand and see this great thing, which the LORD will do before your eyes.

¹⁶ Yn awr, safwch yma a gwelwch y peth mawr hwn y mae'r ARGLWYDD yn ei wneud o flaen eich llygaid.

¹⁷Is it not wheat harvest to day? I will call unto the LORD, and he shall send thunder and rain; that ye may perceive and see that your wickedness is great, which ye have done in the sight of the LORD, in asking you a king.

¹⁷ Onid yw'n adeg y cynhaeaf gwenith? Galwaf ar yr ARGLWYDD i anfon taranau a glaw, a chewch weld a gwybod eich bod wedi cyflawni trosedd mawr yng ngolwg yr ARGLWYDD drwy ofyn am frenin."

¹⁸So Samuel called unto the LORD; and the LORD sent thunder and rain that day: and all the people greatly feared the LORD and Samuel.

¹⁸ Yna galwodd Samuel ar yr ARGLWYDD, ac anfonodd yr ARGLWYDD daranau a glaw y diwrnod hwnnw, ac ofnodd yr holl bobl yr ARGLWYDD a Samuel.

¹⁹And all the people said unto Samuel, Pray for thy servants unto the LORD thy God, that we die not: for we have added unto all our sins this evil, to ask us a king.

¹⁹ Dywedodd yr holl bobl wrth Samuel, "Gwedd�a ar yr ARGLWYDD dy Dduw ar ein rhan, rhag inni farw, oherwydd yr ydym wedi ychwanegu at ein holl bechodau y drwg hwn o geisio inni frenin."

²⁰And Samuel said unto the people, Fear not: ye have done all this wickedness: yet turn not aside from following the LORD, but serve the LORD with all your heart;

²⁰ Dywedodd Samuel wrth y bobl, "Peidiwch ag ofni, er i chwi wneud yr holl ddrwg hwn; peidiwch � throi i ffwrdd oddi wrth yr ARGLWYDD; addolwch yr ARGLWYDD �'ch holl galon.

²¹And turn ye not aside: for then should ye go after vain things, which cannot profit nor deliver; for they are vain.

²¹ Peidiwch � throi at wagedd eilunod na fedrant gynorthwyo na gwaredu am mai gwagedd ydynt.

²²For the LORD will not forsake his people for his great name's sake: because it hath pleased the LORD to make you his people.

²² Er mwyn ei enw mawr ni fydd yr ARGLWYDD yn gwrthod ei bobl; oherwydd y mae'r ARGLWYDD yn dymuno'ch gwneud yn bobl iddo.

²³Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way:

²³ A phell y bo oddi wrthyf finnau bechu yn erbyn yr ARGLWYDD trwy roi'r gorau i wedd�o drosoch a'ch hyfforddi yn y ffordd dda ac uniawn.

²⁴Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you.

²⁴ Yn unig ofnwch yr ARGLWYDD, a gwasanaethwch ef mewn gwirionedd ac �'ch holl galon. Ystyriwch y pethau mawr a wnaeth drosoch.

²⁵But if ye shall still do wickedly, ye shall be consumed, both ye and your king.

²⁵ Ond os parhewch i wneud drwg, ysgubir chwi a'ch brenin i ffwrdd."
