2 Chronicles

26

1Then all the people of Judah took Uzziah, who was sixteen years old, and made him king in the room of his father Amaziah.
1 Pan oedd Usseia yn un ar bymtheg oed, cymerodd holl bobl Jwda ef a'i wneud yn frenin yn lle ei dad Amaseia.
2He built Eloth, and restored it to Judah, after that the king slept with his fathers.
2 Ef a ailadeiladodd Elath a'i hadfer i Jwda wedi i'r brenin farw.
3Sixteen years old was Uzziah when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty and two years in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Jecoliah of Jerusalem.
3 Un ar bymtheg oed oedd Usseia pan ddaeth i'r orsedd, a theyrnasodd am hanner cant a dwy o flynyddoedd yn Jerwsalem. Jecholeia o Jerwsalem oedd enw ei fam.
4And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father Amaziah did.
4 Gwnaeth yr hyn oedd uniawn yng ngolwg yr ARGLWYDD, yn hollol fel y gwnaeth ei dad Amaseia.
5And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him to prosper.
5 Ceisiodd Dduw yn nyddiau Sechareia; ef a'i dysgodd i ofni Duw, a thra oedd yn ceisio'r ARGLWYDD, rhoddodd Duw lwyddiant iddo.
6And he went forth and warred against the Philistines, and brake down the wall of Gath, and the wall of Jabneh, and the wall of Ashdod, and built cities about Ashdod, and among the Philistines.
6 Aeth allan i ryfela yn erbyn y Philistiaid, a chwalu muriau Gath, Jabne ac Asdod; yna fe adeiladodd ddinasoedd yng nghyffiniau Asdod ac ymysg y Philistiaid.
7And God helped him against the Philistines, and against the Arabians that dwelt in Gurbaal, and the Mehunims.
7 Cynorthwyodd Duw ef yn erbyn y Philistiaid, yr Arabiaid oedd yn byw yn Gur-baal, a'r Meuniaid.
8And the Ammonites gave gifts to Uzziah: and his name spread abroad even to the entering in of Egypt; for he strengthened himself exceedingly.
8 Rhoddodd yr Ammoniaid deyrnged i Usseia, ac yr oedd yn enwog hyd at derfyn yr Aifft am ei fod mor rymus.
9Moreover Uzziah built towers in Jerusalem at the corner gate, and at the valley gate, and at the turning of the wall, and fortified them.
9 Adeiladodd Usseia dyrau yn Jerwsalem wrth Borth y Gongl, Porth y Glyn a Thro'r Mur, a'u hatgyfnerthu.
10Also he built towers in the desert, and digged many wells: for he had much cattle, both in the low country, and in the plains: husbandmen also, and vine dressers in the mountains, and in Carmel: for he loved husbandry.
10 Adeiladodd dyrau hefyd yn yr anialwch, a chloddio llawer o bydewau, am fod ganddo lawer o anifeiliaid yn y Seffela ac ar y gwastadedd; yr oedd ganddo hefyd lafurwyr a gwinllanwyr yn y mynydd-dir ac yng Ngharmel, oherwydd yr oedd yn hoff o'r tir.
11Moreover Uzziah had an host of fighting men, that went out to war by bands, according to the number of their account by the hand of Jeiel the scribe and Maaseiah the ruler, under the hand of Hananiah, one of the king's captains.
11 Yr oedd gan Usseia fyddin o filwyr yn barod i'r gad, wedi eu trefnu'n rhengoedd gan Jeiel yr ysgrifennydd a Maaseia y swyddog, yn l cyfarwyddyd Hananeia, un o swyddogion y brenin.
12The whole number of the chief of the fathers of the mighty men of valor were two thousand and six hundred.
12 Cyfanswm pennau-teuluoedd y gwroniaid oedd dwy fil chwe chant.
13And under their hand was an army, three hundred thousand and seven thousand and five hundred, that made war with mighty power, to help the king against the enemy.
13 Dan eu gofal hwy yr oedd byddin o dri chant a saith o filoedd a phum cant o ryfelwyr nerthol i gynorthwyo'r brenin yn erbyn y gelyn.
14And Uzziah prepared for them throughout all the host shields, and spears, and helmets, and habergeons, and bows, and slings to cast stones.
14 Ar gyfer yr holl fyddin paratdd Usseia darianau, gwaywffyn, helmau, llurigau, bwu a cherrig ffyn tafl.
15And he made in Jerusalem engines, invented by cunning men, to be on the towers and upon the bulwarks, to shoot arrows and great stones withal. And his name spread far abroad; for he was marvelously helped, till he was strong.
15 Yn Jerwsalem, gyda chymorth gweithwyr medrus, gwnaeth beiriannau ar gyfer y tyrau a'r conglau, i daflu saethau a cherrig mawr. Yr oedd yn enwog ymhell ac agos, am ei fod yn cael ei gynorthwyo'n rhyfeddol nes iddo ddod yn rymus.
16But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed against the LORD his God, and went into the temple of the LORD to burn incense upon the altar of incense.
16 Ond wedi iddo fynd yn rymus aeth ei falchder yn drech nag ef; troseddodd yn erbyn yr ARGLWYDD ei Dduw trwy fynd i mewn i deml yr ARGLWYDD i arogldarthu ar allor yr arogldarth.
17And Azariah the priest went in after him, and with him fourscore priests of the LORD, that were valiant men:
17 Aeth Asareia yr offeiriad i mewn ar ei l gyda phedwar ugain o wu375?r dewr a oedd yn offeiriaid yr ARGLWYDD.
18And they withstood Uzziah the king, and said unto him, It appertaineth not unto thee, Uzziah, to burn incense unto the LORD, but to the priests the sons of Aaron, that are consecrated to burn incense: go out of the sanctuary; for thou hast trespassed; neither shall it be for thine honor from the LORD God.
18 Safasant o flaen y Brenin Usseia a dweud wrtho, "Nid gennyt ti, Usseia, y mae'r hawl i arogldarthu i'r ARGLWYDD, ond gan yr offeiriaid, meibion Aaron, y rhai a gysegrwyd i arogldarthu. Dos allan o'r cysegr, oherwydd troseddaist; ni chei anrhydedd gan yr ARGLWYDD Dduw."
19Then Uzziah was wroth, and had a censer in his hand to burn incense: and while he was wroth with the priests, the leprosy even rose up in his forehead before the priests in the house of the LORD, from beside the incense altar.
19 Ffromodd Usseia. Yn ei law yr oedd thuser i arogldarthu, ac fel yr oedd yn ffromi wrth yr offeiriaid fe dorrodd gwahanglwyf allan ar ei dalcen, yn ngu373?ydd yr offeiriaid yn nhu375?'r ARGLWYDD yn ymyl allor yr arogldarth.
20And Azariah the chief priest, and all the priests, looked upon him, and, behold, he was leprous in his forehead, and they thrust him out from thence; yea, himself hasted also to go out, because the LORD had smitten him.
20 Edrychodd Asareia yr archoffeiriad a'r holl offeiriaid arno a gweld y gwahanglwyf ar ei dalcen, a gwnaethant iddo frysio oddi yno.
21And Uzziah the king was a leper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a several house, being a leper; for he was cut off from the house of the LORD: and Jotham his son was over the king's house, judging the people of the land.
21 Aeth yntau allan ar frys, oherwydd i'r ARGLWYDD ei daro. A bu'r Brenin Usseia yn wahanglwyfus hyd ddydd ei farw, yn byw o'r neilltu yn ei du375? o achos y gwahanglwyf, ac wedi ei dorri allan o du375?'r ARGLWYDD. Daeth Jotham ei fab i oruchwylio'r palas ac i reoli pobl y wlad.
22Now the rest of the acts of Uzziah, first and last, did Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, write.
22 Am weddill hanes Usseia, o'r dechrau i'r diwedd, fe'i hysgrifennwyd gan y proffwyd Eseia fab Amos.
23So Uzziah slept with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in the field of the burial which belonged to the kings; for they said, He is a leper: and Jotham his son reigned in his stead.
23 Bu farw Usseia, a chladdwyd ef gyda'i ragflaenwyr mewn man claddu yn perthyn i'r brenhinoedd, oherwydd dywedasant, "Yr oedd yn wahan-glwyfus." A daeth ei fab Jotham yn frenin yn ei le.
