2 Samuel

12

1And the LORD sent Nathan unto David. And he came unto him, and said unto him, There were two men in one city; the one rich, and the other poor.
1 Anfonodd yr ARGLWYDD y proffwyd Nathan at Ddafydd; a phan ddaeth, dywedodd wrtho: "Yr oedd dau ddyn mewn rhyw dref, un yn gyfoethog a'r llall yn dlawd.
2The rich man had exceeding many flocks and herds:
2 Yr oedd gan yr un cyfoethog lawer iawn o ddefaid ac ychen;
3But the poor man had nothing, save one little ewe lamb, which he had bought and nourished up: and it grew up together with him, and with his children; it did eat of his own meat, and drank of his own cup, and lay in his bosom, and was unto him as a daughter.
3 ond nid oedd dim gan yr un tlawd, ar wahn i un oenig fechan yr oedd wedi ei phrynu a'i magu, a thyfodd i fyny ar ei aelwyd gyda'i blant, yn bwyta o'r un tamaid ag ef, yn yfed o'r un cwpan, ac yn cysgu yn ei gl; yr oedd fel merch iddo.
4And there came a traveler unto the rich man, and he spared to take of his own flock and of his own herd, to dress for the wayfaring man that was come unto him; but took the poor man's lamb, and dressed it for the man that was come to him.
4 Pan ddaeth ymwelydd at y dyn cyfoethog, gofalodd hwnnw beidio chymryd yr un o'i ddefaid na'i ychen ei hun i wneud pryd i'r teithiwr oedd wedi cyrraedd, yn hytrach fe gymerodd oenig y dyn tlawd a'i pharatoi ar gyfer y sawl a ddaeth ato."
5And David's anger was greatly kindled against the man; and he said to Nathan, As the LORD liveth, the man that hath done this thing shall surely die:
5 Enynnodd dig Dafydd yn fawr yn erbyn y dyn, a dywedodd wrth Nathan, "Cyn wired bod yr ARGLWYDD yn fyw, y mae'r dyn a wnaeth hyn yn haeddu marw!
6And he shall restore the lamb fourfold, because he did this thing, and because he had no pity.
6 Rhaid iddo dalu'r oen yn l bedair gwaith am wneud y fath beth ac am beidio dangos trugaredd."
7And Nathan said to David, Thou art the man. Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I anointed thee king over Israel, and I delivered thee out of the hand of Saul;
7 Dywedodd Nathan wrth Ddafydd, "Ti yw'r dyn. Fel hyn y dywed ARGLWYDD Dduw Israel, 'Fe'th eneiniais di yn frenin ar Israel, ac fe'th waredais o law Saul;
8And I gave thee thy master's house, and thy master's wives into thy bosom, and gave thee the house of Israel and of Judah; and if that had been too little, I would moreover have given unto thee such and such things.
8 rhois iti du375? dy feistr a gwragedd dy feistr yn dy fynwes, a rhois iti hefyd du375? Israel a Jwda. A phe buasai hynny'n rhy ychydig, buaswn wedi ychwanegu cymaint eto.
9Wherefore hast thou despised the commandment of the LORD, to do evil in his sight? thou hast killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and hast taken his wife to be thy wife, and hast slain him with the sword of the children of Ammon.
9 Pam yr wyt wedi dirmygu gair yr ARGLWYDD drwy wneud yr hyn sydd ddrwg yn ei olwg? Yr wyt wedi lladd Ureia yr Hethiad 'r cleddyf, a chymryd ei wraig yn wraig i ti, wedi iti ei lofruddio ef chleddyf yr Ammoniaid.
10Now therefore the sword shall never depart from thine house; because thou hast despised me, and hast taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be thy wife.
10 Bellach ni thry'r cleddyf oddi wrth dy du375? hyd byth, gan i ti fy nirmygu i a chymryd gwraig Ureia yr Hethiad yn wraig i ti.'
11Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will raise up evil against thee out of thine own house, and I will take thy wives before thine eyes, and give them unto thy neighbor, and he shall lie with thy wives in the sight of this sun.
11 Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD: 'Wele fi'n codi yn dy erbyn ddrwg o blith dy deulu dy hun; o flaen dy lygad cymeraf dy wragedd a'u rhoi i'th gymydog, a bydd ef yn gorwedd gyda'th wragedd di yn llygad yr haul hwn.
12For thou didst it secretly: but I will do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun.
12 Yn llechwraidd y gweithredaist ti, ond fe wnaf fi'r peth hwn yng ngu373?ydd Israel gyfan ac yn wyneb haul.'"
13And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the LORD. And Nathan said unto David, The LORD also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die.
13 Yna dywedodd Dafydd wrth Nathan, "Yr wyf wedi pechu yn erbyn yr ARGLWYDD." Ac meddai Nathan wrth Ddafydd, "Y mae'r ARGLWYDD yntau wedi troi dy bechod heibio; ni fyddi farw.
14Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die.
14 Ond oherwydd iti lwyr ddiystyru'r ARGLWYDD yn y mater hwn, yn ddi-os bydd farw y bachgen a enir iti."
15And Nathan departed unto his house. And the LORD struck the child that Uriah's wife bare unto David, and it was very sick.
15 Wedi i Nathan fynd adref, trawodd yr ARGLWYDD y plentyn a ymddg gwraig Ureia i Ddafydd, a chlafychodd.
16David therefore besought God for the child; and David fasted, and went in, and lay all night upon the earth.
16 Ymbiliodd Dafydd Duw dros y bachgen; ymprydiodd, a mynd a threulio'r nos yn gorwedd ar lawr.
17And the elders of his house arose, and went to him, to raise him up from the earth: but he would not, neither did he eat bread with them.
17 Pan geisiodd henuriaid ei du375? ei godi oddi ar lawr, ni fynnai godi ac ni fwyti fara gyda hwy.
18And it came to pass on the seventh day, that the child died. And the servants of David feared to tell him that the child was dead: for they said, Behold, while the child was yet alive, we spake unto him, and he would not hearken unto our voice: how will he then vex himself, if we tell him that the child is dead?
18 Ar y seithfed dydd bu farw'r plentyn, ond yr oedd gweision Dafydd yn ofni dweud wrtho ei fod wedi marw. "Gwelwch," meddent, "tra oedd y plentyn yn fyw, nid oedd yn gwrando arnom, er inni siarad ag ef; sut y dywedwn wrtho fod y plentyn wedi marw? Gallai wneud rhyw niwed iddo'i hun."
19But when David saw that his servants whispered, David perceived that the child was dead: therefore David said unto his servants, Is the child dead? And they said, He is dead.
19 Pan welodd Dafydd fod ei weision yn sibrwd ymhlith ei gilydd, deallodd fod y plentyn wedi marw; felly dywedodd Dafydd wrth ei weision, "A yw'r plentyn wedi marw?" "Ydyw," meddent hwythau.
20Then David arose from the earth, and washed, and anointed himself, and changed his apparel, and came into the house of the LORD, and worshipped: then he came to his own house; and when he required, they set bread before him, and he did eat.
20 Yna cododd Dafydd oddi ar lawr, ac ymolchi a'i eneinio'i hun a newid ei ddillad; ac aeth i du375? Dduw i addoli. Wedyn aeth i'w du375? a gofyn am fwyd; ac wedi iddynt ei osod iddo, fe fwytaodd.
21Then said his servants unto him, What thing is this that thou hast done? thou didst fast and weep for the child, while it was alive; but when the child was dead, thou didst rise and eat bread.
21 Gofynnodd ei weision iddo, "Beth yw hyn yr wyt yn ei wneud? Tra oedd y plentyn yn fyw, yr oeddit yn ymprydio ac yn wylo; ond wedi i'r plentyn farw, yr wyt wedi codi a bwyta."
22And he said, While the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept: for I said, Who can tell whether GOD will be gracious to me, that the child may live?
22 Eglurodd yntau, "Tra oedd y plentyn yn dal yn fyw, yr oeddwn yn ymprydio ac yn wylo am fy mod yn meddwl, 'Pwy a u373?yr a fydd yr ARGLWYDD yn trugarhau wrthyf, ac y bydd y plentyn fyw?'
23But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.
23 Ond erbyn hyn y mae wedi marw; pam felly y dylwn ymprydio? A fedraf fi ddod ag ef yn l? Byddaf fi'n mynd ato ef, ond ni ddaw ef yn l ataf fi."
24And David comforted Bathsheba his wife, and went in unto her, and lay with her: and she bare a son, and he called his name Solomon: and the LORD loved him.
24 Cysurodd Dafydd ei wraig Bathseba, ac aeth i mewn ati a gorwedd gyda hi; esgorodd hithau ar fab, a'i alw'n Solomon. Hoffodd yr ARGLWYDD ef,
25And he sent by the hand of Nathan the prophet; and he called his name Jedidiah, because of the LORD.
25 ac anfonodd neges drwy law'r proffwyd Nathan i'w enwi yn Jedidia oblegid yr ARGLWYDD.
26And Joab fought against Rabbah of the children of Ammon, and took the royal city.
26 Ymosododd Joab ar Rabba'r Ammoniaid, a chipiodd ddinas y brenin.
27And Joab sent messengers to David, and said, I have fought against Rabbah, and have taken the city of waters.
27 Anfonodd Joab negeswyr at Ddafydd a dweud, "Yr wyf wedi ymosod ar Rabba, ac wedi cipio'r gronfa ddu373?r.
28Now therefore gather the rest of the people together, and encamp against the city, and take it: lest I take the city, and it be called after my name.
28 Yn awr, casgla weddill y fyddin a gwersylla yn erbyn y ddinas a'i hennill, rhag i mi gipio'r ddinas ac iddi gael ei galw ar f'enw i."
29And David gathered all the people together, and went to Rabbah, and fought against it, and took it.
29 Casglodd Dafydd y fyddin gyfan, ac aeth i Rabba ac ymladd yn ei herbyn a'i hennill.
30And he took their king's crown from off his head, the weight whereof was a talent of gold with the precious stones: and it was set on David's head. And he brought forth the spoil of the city in great abundance.
30 Cymerodd goron eu brenin oddi ar ei ben yr oedd yn pwyso talent o aur, a gem gwerthfawr ynddi a rhoed hi ar ben Dafydd. Dygodd o'r ddinas lawer o ysbail,
31And he brought forth the people that were therein, and put them under saws, and under harrows of iron, and under axes of iron, and made them pass through the brick-kiln: and thus did he unto all the cities of the children of Ammon. So David and all the people returned unto Jerusalem.
31 ac aeth 'r bobl oedd ynddi a'u gosod i lafurio llifiau a cheibiau heyrn a bwyeill heyrn, a hefyd i weithio priddfeini. Gwnaeth Dafydd yr un modd holl drefi'r Ammoniaid, ac yna dychwelodd ef a'r holl fyddin i Jerwsalem.
