1And it came to pass, that when Isaac was old, and his eyes were dim, so that he could not see, he called Esau his eldest son, and said unto him, My son: and he said unto him, Behold, here am I.
1 Pan oedd Isaac yn hen a'i lygaid wedi pylu fel nad oedd yn gweld, galwodd ar Esau ei fab hynaf, a dweud wrtho, "Fy mab." Atebodd yntau, "Dyma fi."
2And he said, Behold now, I am old, I know not the day of my death:
2 A dywedodd Isaac, "Yr wyf wedi mynd yn hen, ac ni wn pa ddiwrnod y byddaf farw.
3Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison;
3 Cymer yn awr dy arfau, dy gawell saethau a'th fwa, a dos i'r maes i hela bwyd i mi,
4And make me savory meat, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat; that my soul may bless thee before I die.
4 a gwna i mi y lluniaeth blasus sy'n hoff gennyf, a thyrd ag ef imi i'w fwyta; yna bendithiaf di cyn imi farw."
5And Rebekah heard when Isaac spake to Esau his son. And Esau went to the field to hunt for venison, and to bring it.
5 Yr oedd Rebeca yn gwrando ar Isaac yn siarad 'i fab Esau. A phan aeth Esau i'r maes i hela bwyd i ddod ag ef i'w dad,
6And Rebekah spake unto Jacob her son, saying, Behold, I heard thy father speak unto Esau thy brother, saying,
6 dywedodd Rebeca wrth ei mab Jacob, "Clywais dy dad yn siarad 'th frawd Esau ac yn dweud,
7Bring me venison, and make me savory meat, that I may eat, and bless thee before the LORD before my death.
7 'Tyrd helfa imi, a gwna luniaeth blasus imi i'w fwyta; yna bendithiaf di gerbron yr ARGLWYDD cyn imi farw.'
8Now therefore, my son, obey my voice according to that which I command thee.
8 Gwrando'n awr, fy mab, ar yr hyn a orchmynnaf i ti.
9Go now to the flock, and fetch me from thence two good kids of the goats; and I will make them savory meat for thy father, such as he loveth:
9 Dos i blith y praidd, a thyrd dau fyn gafr da i mi, a gwnaf finnau hwy yn lluniaeth blasus i'th dad, o'r math y mae'n ei hoffi,
10And thou shalt bring it to thy father, that he may eat, and that he may bless thee before his death.
10 a chei dithau fynd ag ef i'th dad i'w fwyta, er mwyn iddo dy fendithio di cyn iddo farw."
11And Jacob said to Rebekah his mother, Behold, Esau my brother is a hairy man, and I am a smooth man:
11 Ond dywedodd Jacob wrth ei fam Rebeca, "Ond y mae Esau yn u373?r blewog, a minnau'n u373?r llyfn.
12My father peradventure will feel me, and I shall seem to him as a deceiver; and I shall bring a curse upon me, and not a blessing.
12 Efallai y bydd fy nhad yn fy nheimlo, a byddaf fel twyllwr yn ei olwg, a dof melltith arnaf fy hun yn lle bendith."
13And his mother said unto him, Upon me be thy curse, my son: only obey my voice, and go fetch me them.
13 Meddai ei fam wrtho, "Arnaf fi y bo dy felltith, fy mab; gwrando arnaf, dos a thyrd 'r geifr ataf."
14And he went, and fetched, and brought them to his mother: and his mother made savory meat, such as his father loved.
14 Felly aeth, a dod hwy at ei fam; a gwnaeth ei fam luniaeth blasus, o'r math yr oedd ei dad yn ei hoffi.
15And Rebekah took goodly raiment of her eldest son Esau, which were with her in the house, and put them upon Jacob her younger son:
15 Yna cymerodd Rebeca ddillad gorau ei mab hynaf Esau, dillad oedd gyda hi yn y tu375?, a'u gwisgo am Jacob ei mab ieuengaf;
16And she put the skins of the kids of the goats upon his hands, and upon the smooth of his neck:
16 a gwisgodd hefyd grwyn y geifr am ei ddwylo ac am ei wegil llyfn;
17And she gave the savory meat and the bread, which she had prepared, into the hand of her son Jacob.
17 yna rhoddodd i'w mab Jacob y lluniaeth blasus a'r bara yr oedd wedi eu paratoi.
18And he came unto his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I; who art thou, my son?
18 Aeth yntau i mewn at ei dad a dweud, "Fy nhad." Atebodd yntau, "Dyma fi, fy mab, pwy wyt ti?"
19And Jacob said unto his father, I am Esau thy first born; I have done according as thou badest me: arise, I pray thee, sit and eat of my venison, that thy soul may bless me.
19 Dywedodd Jacob wrth ei dad, "Esau dy gyntafanedig wyf fi. Gwneuthum fel y dywedaist wrthyf; cod ar dy eistedd a bwyta o'm helfa, a bendithia fi."
20And Isaac said unto his son, How is it that thou hast found it so quickly, my son? And he said, Because the LORD thy God brought it to me.
20 A dywedodd Isaac wrth ei fab, "Sut y cefaist hyd iddo mor fuan, fy mab?" Atebodd yntau, "Yr ARGLWYDD dy Dduw a'i trefnodd ar fy nghyfer."
21And Isaac said unto Jacob, Come near, I pray thee, that I may feel thee, my son, whether thou be my very son Esau or not.
21 Yna dywedodd Isaac wrth Jacob, "Tyrd yn nes, er mwyn imi dy deimlo, fy mab, a gwybod ai ti yw fy mab Esau ai peidio."
22And Jacob went near unto Isaac his father; and he felt him, and said, The voice is Jacob's voice, but the hands are the hands of Esau.
22 Nesaodd Jacob at Isaac ei dad, a theimlodd yntau ef a dweud, "Llais Jacob yw'r llais, ond dwylo Esau yw'r dwylo."
23And he discerned him not, because his hands were hairy, as his brother Esau's hands: so he blessed him.
23 Ond nid adnabu mohono, am fod ei ddwylo'n flewog fel dwylo Esau ei frawd; felly bendithiodd ef.
24And he said, Art thou my very son Esau? And he said, I am.
24 A dywedodd, "Ai ti yn wir yw fy mab Esau?" Atebodd yntau, "Myfi yw."
25And he said, Bring it near to me, and I will eat of my son's venison, that my soul may bless thee. And he brought it near to him, and he did eat: and he brought him wine and he drank.
25 Dywedodd yntau, "Tyrd 'r helfa ataf, fy mab, imi gael bwyta a'th fendithio." Daeth ag ef ato, a bwytaodd yntau; a daeth gwin iddo, ac yfodd.
26And his father Isaac said unto him, Come near now, and kiss me, my son.
26 A dywedodd ei dad Isaac wrtho, "Tyrd yn nes a chusana fi, fy mab."
27And he came near, and kissed him: and he smelled the smell of his raiment, and blessed him, and said, See, the smell of my son is as the smell of a field which the LORD hath blessed:
27 Felly nesaodd a chusanodd ef; clywodd yntau arogl ei wisgoedd, a bendithiodd ef, a dweud: "Dyma arogl fy mab, fel arogl maes a fendithiodd yr ARGLWYDD.
28Therefore God give thee of the dew of heaven, and the fatness of the earth, and plenty of corn and wine:
28 Rhodded Duw iti o wlith y nefoedd, o fraster y ddaear, a digon o u375?d a gwin.
29Let people serve thee, and nations bow down to thee: be lord over thy brethren, and let thy mother's sons bow down to thee: cursed be every one that curseth thee, and blessed be he that blesseth thee.
29 Bydded i bobloedd dy wasanaethu di, ac i genhedloedd ymgrymu o'th flaen; bydd yn Arglwydd ar dy frodyr, ac ymgrymed meibion dy fam iti. Bydded melltith ar y rhai sy'n dy felltithio, a bendith ar y rhai sy'n dy fendithio."
30And it came to pass, as soon as Isaac had made an end of blessing Jacob, and Jacob was yet scarce gone out from the presence of Isaac his father, that Esau his brother came in from his hunting.
30 Wedi i Isaac orffen bendithio Jacob, a Jacob ond prin wedi mynd allan o u373?ydd ei dad Isaac, daeth ei frawd Esau i mewn o'i hela.
31And he also had made savory meat, and brought it unto his father, and said unto his father, Let my father arise, and eat of his son's venison, that thy soul may bless me.
31 Gwnaeth yntau luniaeth blasus, a mynd ag ef i'w dad, a dweud wrtho, "Cod, fy nhad, a bwyta o helfa dy fab, a bendithia fi."
32And Isaac his father said unto him, Who art thou? And he said, I am thy son, thy firstborn Esau.
32 Gofynnodd ei dad Isaac iddo, "Pwy wyt ti?" Atebodd yntau, "Dy fab Esau, dy gyntafanedig, wyf fi."
33And Isaac trembled very exceedingly, and said, Who? where is he that hath taken venison, and brought it me, and I have eaten of all before thou camest, and have blessed him? yea, and he shall be blessed.
33 Yna cyffrdd Isaac yn ddirfawr, a dywedodd, "Pwy ynteu a heliodd fwyd a'i ddwyn ataf, a minnau'n bwyta'r cwbl cyn iti ddod, ac yn rhoi'r fendith iddo ef? Ac yn wir, bendigedig fydd ef."
34And when Esau heard the words of his father, he cried with a great and exceeding bitter cry, and said unto his father, Bless me, even me also, O my father.
34 Pan glywodd Esau eiriau ei dad, gwaeddodd yn uchel a chwerw, a dweud wrth ei dad, "Bendithia fi, finnau hefyd, fy nhad."
35And he said, Thy brother came with subtilty, and hath taken away thy blessing.
35 Ond dywedodd ef, "Y mae dy frawd wedi dod trwy dwyll, a chymryd dy fendith."
36And he said, Is not he rightly named Jacob? for he hath supplanted me these two times: he took away my birthright; and, behold, now he hath taken away my blessing. And he said, Hast thou not reserved a blessing for me?
36 Ac meddai Esau, "Onid Jacob yw'r enw priodol arno? Y mae wedi fy nisodli ddwywaith: dygodd fy ngenedigaeth-fraint, a dyma ef yn awr wedi dwyn fy mendith." Yna dywedodd, "Onid oes gennyt fendith ar l i minnau?"
37And Isaac answered and said unto Esau, Behold, I have made him thy lord, and all his brethren have I given to him for servants; and with corn and wine have I sustained him: and what shall I do now unto thee, my son?
37 Atebodd Isaac a dweud wrth Esau, "Yr wyf wedi ei wneud ef yn arglwydd arnat, a rhoi ei holl berthnasau yn weision iddo, ac u375?d a gwin i'w gynnal. Beth, felly, a allaf ei wneud i ti, fy mab?"
38And Esau said unto his father, Hast thou but one blessing, my father? bless me, even me also, O my father. And Esau lifted up his voice, and wept.
38 A dywedodd Esau wrth ei dad, "Ai yr un fendith hon yn unig sydd gennyt, fy nhad? Bendithia fi, finnau hefyd, fy nhad." A chododd Esau ei lais ac wylo.
39And Isaac his father answered and said unto him, Behold, thy dwelling shall be the fatness of the earth, and of the dew of heaven from above;
39 Yna atebodd ei dad Isaac a dweud wrtho: "Wele, bydd dy gartref heb fraster daear, a heb wlith y nef oddi uchod.
40And by thy sword shalt thou live, and shalt serve thy brother; and it shall come to pass when thou shalt have the dominion, that thou shalt break his yoke from off thy neck.
40 Wrth dy gleddyf y byddi fyw, ac fe wasanaethi dy frawd; ond pan ddoi'n rhydd, fe dorri ei iau oddi ar dy wddf."
41And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing wherewith his father blessed him: and Esau said in his heart, The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then will I slay my brother Jacob.
41 A chasaodd Esau Jacob o achos y fendith yr oedd ei dad wedi ei rhoi iddo, a dywedodd Esau wrtho'i hun, "Daw yn amser i alaru am fy nhad cyn hir; yna lladdaf fy mrawd Jacob."
42And these words of Esau her elder son were told to Rebekah: and she sent and called Jacob her younger son, and said unto him, Behold, thy brother Esau, as touching thee, doth comfort himself, purposing to kill thee.
42 Ond cafodd Rebeca wybod am eiriau Esau ei mab hynaf; anfonodd hithau a galw am Jacob ei mab ieuengaf, a dweud wrtho, "Edrych, y mae dy frawd Esau yn ei gysuro ei hun wrth feddwl am dy ladd.
43Now therefore, my son, obey my voice; arise, flee thou to Laban my brother to Haran;
43 Yn awr, fy mab, gwrando arnaf; cod, a ffo i Haran at fy mrawd Laban,
44And tarry with him a few days, until thy brother's fury turn away;
44 ac aros dros dro gydag ef, nes bod llid dy frawd wedi cilio.
45Until thy brother's anger turn away from thee, and he forget that which thou hast done to him: then I will send, and fetch thee from thence: why should I be deprived also of you both in one day?
45 Yna pan fydd dicter dy frawd wedi cilio, ac yntau wedi anghofio'r hyn a wnaethost, mi anfonaf i'th gyrchu oddi yno. Pam y caf fy amddifadu ohonoch eich dau mewn un diwrnod?"
46And Rebekah said to Isaac, I am weary of my life because of the daughters of Heth: if Jacob take a wife of the daughters of Heth, such as these which are of the daughters of the land, what good shall my life do me?
46 Dywedodd Rebeca wrth Isaac, "Yr wyf wedi blino byw o achos merched yr Hethiaid. Os prioda Jacob wraig o blith merched yr Hethiaid fel un o'r rhain, sef un o ferched y wlad, i beth y byddaf fyw?"
