¹Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart.

²But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped.

² Yr oedd fy nhraed bron � baglu, a bu ond y dim i'm gwadnau lithro,

³For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

³ am fy mod yn cenfigennu wrth y trahaus ac yn eiddigeddus o lwyddiant y drygionus.

⁴For there are no bands in their death: but their strength is firm.

⁴ Oherwydd nid oes ganddynt hwy ofidiau; y mae eu cyrff yn iach a graenus.

⁵They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men.

⁵ Nid ydynt hwy mewn helynt fel pobl eraill, ac nid ydynt hwy'n cael eu poenydio fel eraill.

⁶Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them as a garment.

⁶ Am hynny, y mae balchder yn gadwyn am eu gyddfau, a thrais yn wisg amdanynt.

⁷Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish.

⁷ Y mae eu llygaid yn disgleirio o fraster, a'u calonnau'n gorlifo o ffolineb.

⁸They are corrupt, and speak wickedly concerning oppression: they speak loftily.

⁸ Y maent yn gwawdio ac yn siarad yn ddichellgar, yn s�n yn ffroenuchel am ormes.

⁹They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth.

⁹ Gosodant eu genau yn erbyn y nefoedd, ac y mae eu tafod yn tramwyo'r ddaear.

¹⁰Therefore his people return hither: and waters of a full cup are wrung out to them.

¹⁰ Am hynny, y mae'r bobl yn troi atynt, ac ni ch�nt unrhyw fai ynddynt.

¹¹And they say, How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most High?

¹¹ Dywedant, "Sut y mae Duw'n gwybod? A oes gwybodaeth gan y Goruchaf?"

¹²Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches.

¹² Edrych, dyma hwy y rhai drygionus � bob amser mewn esmwythyd ac yn casglu cyfoeth.

¹³Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocency.

¹³ Yn gwbl ofer y cedwais fy nghalon yn l�n, a golchi fy nwylo am fy mod yn ddieuog;

¹⁴For all the day long have I been plagued, and chastened every morning.

¹⁴ ar hyd y dydd yr wyf wedi fy mhoenydio, ac fe'm cosbir bob bore.

¹⁵If I say, I will speak thus; behold, I should offend against the generation of thy children.

¹⁵ Pe buaswn wedi dweud, "Fel hyn y siaradaf", buaswn wedi bradychu cenhedlaeth dy blant.

¹⁶When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me;

¹⁶ Ond pan geisiais ddeall hyn, yr oedd yn rhy anodd i mi,

¹⁷Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end.

¹⁷ nes imi fynd i gysegr Duw; yno y gwelais eu diwedd.

¹⁸Surely thou didst set them in slippery places: thou castedst them down into destruction.

¹⁸ Yn sicr, yr wyt yn eu gosod ar fannau llithrig, ac yn gwneud iddynt syrthio i ddistryw.

¹⁹How are they brought into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors.

¹⁹ Fe �nt i ddinistr ar amrantiad, fe'u cipir yn llwyr gan ddychrynfeydd.

²⁰As a dream when one awaketh; so, O Lord, when thou awakest, thou shalt despise their image.

²⁰ Fel breuddwyd ar �l ymysgwyd, y maent wedi mynd; wrth ddeffro fe'u diystyrir fel hunllef.

²¹Thus my heart was grieved, and I was pricked in my reins.

²¹ Pan oedd fy nghalon yn chwerw a'm coluddion wedi eu trywanu,

²²So foolish was I, and ignorant: I was as a beast before thee.

²² yr oeddwn yn ddwl a diddeall, ac yn ymddwyn fel anifail tuag atat.

²³Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand.

²³ Er hynny, yr wyf gyda thi bob amser; yr wyt yn cydio yn fy neheulaw.

²⁴Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.

²⁴ Yr wyt yn fy arwain �'th gyngor, ac yna'n fy nerbyn mewn gogoniant.

²⁵Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.

²⁵ Pwy sydd gennyf yn y nefoedd ond ti? Ac nid wyf yn dymuno ond tydi ar y ddaear.

²⁶My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.

²⁶ Er i'm calon a'm cnawd ballu, eto y mae Duw yn gryfder i'm calon ac yn rhan imi am byth.

²⁷For, lo, they that are far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all them that go a whoring from thee.

²⁷ Yn wir, fe ddifethir y rhai sy'n bell oddi wrthyt, a byddi'n dinistrio'r rhai sy'n anffyddlon i ti.

²⁸But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works.

²⁸ Ond da i mi yw bod yn agos at Dduw; yr wyf wedi gwneud yr Arglwydd DDUW yn gysgod i mi, er mwyn imi fynegi dy ryfeddodau.
