¹And he entered into a ship, and passed over, and came into his own city.

¹Ja Jeesus astus paati ja tuli teisele poole järve oma kodulinna.

²And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.

²Ja vaata, tema juurde kanti üks halvatu, kes oli kanderaamil. Ja nende usku nähes ütles Jeesus halvatule: 'Ole julge, poeg, sinu patud on sulle andeks antud!'

³And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth.

³Ja vaata, mõned kirjatundjad mõtlesid endamisi: 'See teotab Jumalat!'

⁴And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?

⁴Jeesus, teades nende mõtteid, ütles neile: 'Mispärast te mõtlete kurja oma südames?

⁵For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk?

⁵Sest kumb on kergem, kas öelda: 'Sinu patud on andeks antud!' või öelda: 'Tõuse püsti ja kõnni!'?

⁶But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house.

⁶Aga et te teaksite, et Inimese Pojal on meelevald patte andeks anda maa peal,' - siis ta ütles halvatule - 'tõuse püsti, võta oma kanderaam ja mine koju!'

⁷And he arose, and departed to his house.

⁷Ja too tõusis ning läks koju.

⁸But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men.

⁸Seda nähes hakkasid rahvahulgad kartma ja ülistasid Jumalat, kes annab inimestele sellise meelevalla.

⁹And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.

⁹Ja sealt edasi minnes nägi Jeesus meest, Matteus nimi, tollihoone juures istuvat, ja ütles talle: 'Järgne mulle!' Ja Matteus tõusis ning järgnes talle.

¹⁰And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples.

¹⁰Ja kui Jeesus istus lauas tema kodus, vaata, palju tölnereid ja muid patuseid tuli ning istus koos Jeesuse ja ta jüngritega.

¹¹And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?

¹¹Ja seda nähes ütlesid variserid tema jüngritele: 'Miks teie õpetaja sööb koos tölnerite ja patustega?'

¹²But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.

¹²Aga seda kuuldes vastas Jeesus: 'Ei vaja arsti terved, vaid haiged.

¹³But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

¹³Aga minge ning õppige, mis see on: Ma ei taha ohvrit, vaid halastust! Jah, ma ei ole tulnud kutsuma õigeid, vaid patuseid!'

¹⁴Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not?

¹⁴Siis tulid ta juurde Johannese jüngrid ja küsisid: 'Miks meie ja variserid paastume, sinu jüngrid aga ei paastu?'

¹⁵And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast.

¹⁵Ja Jeesus ütles neile: 'Ega peiupoisid või leinata sel ajal, kui peigmees on nende juures!? Ent päevad tulevad, mil peigmees neilt ära võetakse, küll nad siis paastuvad!

¹⁶No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse.

¹⁶Aga keegi ei paika vanutamata riidetükiga vana kuube, sest paik rebeneks küljest ja käristaks augu veel suuremaks.

¹⁷Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.

¹⁷Ei kallata ka värsket veini vanadesse nahklähkritesse, muidu lähkrid rebeneksid ja vein voolaks maha ning lähkrid muutuksid kõlbmatuks, vaid värske vein kallatakse uutesse lähkritesse, ja siis säilivad mõlemad.'

¹⁸While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.

¹⁸Kui Jeesus seda neile rääkis, vaata, siis tuli üks ülem, kummardas teda ja ütles: 'Mu tütar suri äsja, kuid tule, pane oma käsi ta peale, siis ta ärkab ellu!'

¹⁹And Jesus arose, and followed him, and so did his disciples.

¹⁹Ja Jeesus tõusis, läks temaga kaasa ja samuti ta jüngrid.

²⁰And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment:

²⁰Ja vaata, üks naine, kes oli olnud veritõves kaksteist aastat, tuli ta selja taha ja puudutas ta kuue palistust,

²¹For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.

²¹sest naine mõtles endamisi: 'Kui ma ainult saaksin puudutada tema kuube, siis ma pääseksin!'

²²But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.

²²Aga Jeesus pöördus ja sõnas teda nähes: 'Tütar, ole julge, sinu usk on su päästnud!' Ja naine sai terveks selsamal hetkel.

²³And when Jesus came into the ruler's house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise,

²³Kui Jeesus ülema majja jõudis ning nägi vilepuhujaid ja käratsevat rahvahulka,

²⁴He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn.

²⁴siis ta ütles: 'Hoiduge eemale, tüdruk ei ole surnud, vaid magab!' Aga nad naersid tema üle.

²⁵But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.

²⁵Ent kui rahvahulk oli välja aetud, läks Jeesus sisse, võttis tal käest kinni ja tüdruk ärkas üles.

²⁶And the fame hereof went abroad into all that land.

²⁶Ja kuuldus sellest levis üle kogu selle maa.

²⁷And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou son of David, have mercy on us.

²⁷Kui Jeesus sealt edasi läks, järgnesid talle kaks pimedat, kisendades: 'Taaveti Poeg, halasta meie peale!'

²⁸And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord.

²⁸Kui ta siis koju tuli, astusid pimedad ta juurde. Ja Jeesus küsis neilt: 'Kas te usute, et mina võin seda teha?' Nemad ütlesid talle: 'Jah, Issand!'

²⁹Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.

²⁹Siis ta puudutas nende silmi ja ütles: 'Teile sündigu teie usku mööda!'

³⁰And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See that no man know it.

³⁰Ja nende silmad avanesid. Ja Jeesus hoiatas neid: 'Vaadake, et keegi sellest teada ei saaks!'

³¹But they, when they were departed, spread abroad his fame in all that country.

³¹Aga nemad läksid välja ja levitasid juttu tema kohta kogu sellel maal.

³²As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil.

³²Kui need olid lahkunud, vaata, siis toodi tema juurde tumm mees, kes oli kurjast vaimust vaevatud.

³³And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.

³³Ja kui kuri vaim oli välja aetud, hakkas tumm rääkima. Rahvahulgad panid seda imeks ja ütlesid: 'Sellist asja ei ole Iisraelis iialgi nähtud!'

³⁴But the Pharisees said, He casteth out devils through the prince of the devils.

³⁴Variserid aga ütlesid: 'Ta ajab kurje vaime välja kurjade vaimude ülema abil.'

³⁵And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

³⁵Ja Jeesus rändas läbi kõik linnad ja külad, õpetades nende sünagoogides ja jutlustades evangeeliumi Kuningriigist ja parandades kõik haigused ja kõik nõtrused.

³⁶But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.

³⁶Aga rahvahulka nähes hakkas tal neist hale, sest nad olid väsitatud ja vaevatud otsekui lambad, kellel ei ole karjast.

³⁷Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;

³⁷Siis ta ütles oma jüngritele: 'Lõikust on palju, töötegijaid aga vähe.

³⁸Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

³⁸Paluge siis lõikuse Issandat, et ta saadaks töötegijaid välja oma lõikusele!'
