¹Laulujuhatajale: Taaveti laul. Meeletu ütleb oma südames: 'Jumalat ei ole!' Nad talitavad riivatult ja jõledasti, ei ole kedagi, kes head teeb.

²The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.

²Issand vaatab taevast inimlaste peale, et näha, kas on mõistlikku, kedagi, kes otsib Jumalat.

³Kõik nad on taganenud, üheskoos on nad läinud raisku; ei ole kedagi, kes head teeb, mitte ühtainustki.

⁴Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the LORD.

⁴Kas seda siis ei mõista need, kes teevad nurjatust, kes söövad mu rahvast, nagu süüakse leiba? Issanda poole nad ei hüüa.

⁵Seal valdab neid hirm, sest Jumal on õigete sugupõlve seas.

⁶Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the LORD is his refuge.

⁶Viletsa nõu te saadate häbisse, aga Issand on ta varjupaik.

⁷Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when the LORD bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

⁷Oh, et Iisraelile tuleks pääste Siionist! Kui Issand oma rahva vangipõlve pöörab, siis hakkab Jaakob ilutsema, Iisrael saab rõõmsaks.
