¹And thou shalt make an altar to burn incense upon: of shittim wood shalt thou make it.

¹"Tee akasiapuusta alttari suitsutuksen polttamista varten.

²A cubit shall be the length thereof, and a cubit the breadth thereof; foursquare shall it be: and two cubits shall be the height thereof: the horns thereof shall be of the same.

²Se olkoon nelikulmainen, sivuiltaan kyynärän mittainen ja kaksi kyynärää korkea, ja alttarinsarvet olkoot alttarin kanssa samaa kappaletta.

³And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold, the top thereof, and the sides thereof round about, and the horns thereof; and thou shalt make unto it a crown of gold round about.

³Päällystä alttari puhtaalla kullalla, sekä päällyslevy että kaikki sivut, samoin alttarinsarvet, ja ympäröi alttari kultareunuksella.

⁴And two golden rings shalt thou make to it under the crown of it, by the two corners thereof, upon the two sides of it shalt thou make it; and they shall be for places for the staves to bear it withal.

⁴Kiinnitä alttarin kahdelle vastakkaiselle sivulle kultareunuksen alapuolelle kaksi kultarengasta kummallekin puolen; ne olkoot kantotankojen pidikkeinä, niin että alttaria voidaan kantaa.

⁵And thou shalt make the staves of shittim wood, and overlay them with gold.

⁵Tee kantotangot akasiapuusta ja päällystä nekin kullalla.

⁶And thou shalt put it before the vail that is by the ark of the testimony, before the mercy seat that is over the testimony, where I will meet with thee.

⁶Aseta suitsutusalttari liitonarkkua ja sen kansilevyä suojaavan väliverhon etupuolelle, pyhäkköteltan sen osan eteen, jossa sinä saat kohdata minut.

⁷And Aaron shall burn thereon sweet incense every morning: when he dresseth the lamps, he shall burn incense upon it.

⁷Tällä alttarilla Aaron polttakoon hyväntuoksuisia suitsukkeita. Niitä hän polttakoon joka aamu pannessaan lamppuja kuntoon,

⁸And when Aaron lighteth the lamps at even, he shall burn incense upon it, a perpetual incense before the LORD throughout your generations.

⁸ja samoin iltahämärissä nostaessaan lamput paikoilleen palamaan. Näin on Herran edessä aina uhrattava suitsutusuhri sukupolvesta toiseen.

⁹Ye shall offer no strange incense thereon, nor burnt sacrifice, nor meat offering; neither shall ye pour drink offering thereon.

⁹Älkää tuoko tälle alttarille mitään väärää suitsuketta, älkää uhratko sillä polttouhria tai ruokauhria älkääkä vuodattako sen päälle juomauhria.

¹⁰And Aaron shall make an atonement upon the horns of it once in a year with the blood of the sin offering of atonements: once in the year shall he make atonement upon it throughout your generations: it is most holy unto the LORD.

¹⁰Kerran vuodessa Aaron suorittakoon alttarinsarvien puhdistusmenot; sukupolvesta toiseen alttarinsarvet siveltäköön sovitusuhrin verellä. Näin se on oleva Herran oma, erityisen pyhä alttari."

¹¹And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

¹¹Herra sanoi Moosekselle:

¹²When thou takest the sum of the children of Israel after their number, then shall they give every man a ransom for his soul unto the LORD, when thou numberest them; that there be no plague among them, when thou numberest them.

¹²"Kun tarkastat israelilaiset ja lasket heidän soturiensa lukumäärän, heidän tulee samalla antaa Herralle maksu henkensä lunnaiksi, ettei mikään vitsaus kohtaisi heitä tarkastuksen vuoksi.

¹³This they shall give, every one that passeth among them that are numbered, half a shekel after the shekel of the sanctuary: (a shekel is twenty gerahs:) an half shekel shall be the offering of the LORD.

¹³Jokainen, joka joutuu mukaan tarkastukseen, maksakoon puoli sekeliä hopeaa punnittuna pyhäkkösekelin painon mukaan -- yksi sekeli on kaksikymmentä geraa -- ja tämä puoli sekeliä on uhrilahja Herralle.

¹⁴Every one that passeth among them that are numbered, from twenty years old and above, shall give an offering unto the LORD.

¹⁴Jokainen tarkastukseen joutuva, kaksikymmenvuotias tai sitä vanhempi, maksakoon tämän uhrilahjan Herralle.

¹⁵The rich shall not give more, and the poor shall not give less than half a shekel, when they give an offering unto the LORD, to make an atonement for your souls.

¹⁵Kun annatte uhrilahjan Herralle henkenne lunnaiksi, älköön rikas antako puolta sekeliä enempää älköönkä köyhä sen vähempää.

¹⁶And thou shalt take the atonement money of the children of Israel, and shalt appoint it for the service of the tabernacle of the congregation; that it may be a memorial unto the children of Israel before the LORD, to make an atonement for your souls.

¹⁶Kerää lunnashopea israelilaisilta ja käytä se pyhäkköteltan jumalanpalveluskuluihin. Se on Herran edessä vakuutena siitä, että teidän henkenne on lunastettu."

¹⁷And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

¹⁷Herra sanoi Moosekselle:

¹⁸Thou shalt also make a laver of brass, and his foot also of brass, to wash withal: and thou shalt put it between the tabernacle of the congregation and the altar, and thou shalt put water therein.

¹⁸"Tee peseytymistä varten pronssinen allas ja sille pronssinen jalusta, sijoita se pyhäkköteltan ja alttarin väliin ja täytä se vedellä.

¹⁹For Aaron and his sons shall wash their hands and their feet thereat:

¹⁹Aaron ja hänen poikansa peskööt siinä kätensä ja jalkansa.

²⁰When they go into the tabernacle of the congregation, they shall wash with water, that they die not; or when they come near to the altar to minister, to burn offering made by fire unto the LORD:

²⁰Kun he ovat menossa pyhäkkötelttaan, heidän on ensin peseydyttävä vedellä, etteivät he kuolisi. Myös silloin kun he astuvat alttarin ääreen palvelustoimiinsa polttamaan tuliuhreja Herralle,

²¹So they shall wash their hands and their feet, that they die not: and it shall be a statute for ever to them, even to him and to his seed throughout their generations.

²¹heidän on ensin pestävä kätensä ja jalkansa, etteivät he kuolisi. Tätä määräystä Aaronin ja hänen jälkeläistensä on aina noudatettava sukupolvesta toiseen."

²²Moreover the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

²²Herra sanoi Moosekselle:

²³Take thou also unto thee principal spices, of pure myrrh five hundred shekels, and of sweet cinnamon half so much, even two hundred and fifty shekels, and of sweet calamus two hundred and fifty shekels,

²³"Kokoa hajusteita parasta lajia: viisisataa sekeliä kiteistä mirhaa, tuoksukanelia puolet tästä määrästä eli kaksisataaviisikymmentä sekeliä ja tuoksuruokoa kaksisataaviisikymmentä sekeliä,

²⁴And of cassia five hundred shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary, and of oil olive an hin:

²⁴lisäksi kassian kuorta viisisataa sekeliä, kaikki pyhäkkösekelin mukaan punnittuna, sekä hin-mitallinen oliiviöljyä.

²⁵And thou shalt make it an oil of holy ointment, an ointment compound after the art of the apothecary: it shall be an holy anointing oil.

²⁵Sekoita niistä pyhää öljyä samalla tavoin kuin voiteentekijät valmistavat tuoksuöljynsä; sellaista tulee pyhän öljyn olla.

²⁶And thou shalt anoint the tabernacle of the congregation therewith, and the ark of the testimony,

²⁶Voitele tällä öljyllä pyhäkköteltta ja liitonarkku,

²⁷And the table and all his vessels, and the candlestick and his vessels, and the altar of incense,

²⁷pöytä kaikkine varusteineen, lampunjalka kaikkine varusteineen, suitsutusalttari ja

²⁸And the altar of burnt offering with all his vessels, and the laver and his foot.

²⁸polttouhrialttari kaikkine välineineen sekä allas jalustoineen.

²⁹And thou shalt sanctify them, that they may be most holy: whatsoever toucheth them shall be holy.

²⁹Pyhitä ne, niin että ne tulevat erityisen pyhiksi. Kaikkea, mikä niitä koskettaa, Herran pyhyys uhkaa kuolemalla.

³⁰And thou shalt anoint Aaron and his sons, and consecrate them, that they may minister unto me in the priest's office.

³⁰Voitele myös Aaron ja hänen poikansa ja pyhitä heidät palvelemaan minua pappeina.

³¹And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, This shall be an holy anointing oil unto me throughout your generations.

³¹Sano israelilaisille: Tämä on Herralle pyhitettyä öljyä sukupolvesta toiseen.

³²Upon man's flesh shall it not be poured, neither shall ye make any other like it, after the composition of it: it is holy, and it shall be holy unto you.

³²Älköön sitä vuodatettako kenenkään muun ihmisen päälle älköönkä koskaan tehtäkö muuhun käyttöön öljyä, jolla on sama koostumus. Se on pyhää; pitäkää se siis pyhänä.

³³Whosoever compoundeth any like it, or whosoever putteth any of it upon a stranger, shall even be cut off from his people.

³³Jos joku sellaisen öljyn sekoittaa tai voitelee sillä asiaankuulumattoman, hänet hävitettäköön kansansa parista."

³⁴And the LORD said unto Moses, Take unto thee sweet spices, stacte, and onycha, and galbanum; these sweet spices with pure frankincense: of each shall there be a like weight:

³⁴Herra sanoi Moosekselle: "Kokoa hyväntuoksuisia aineita, mastiksipihkaa, kotilonkuorta ja galbaanihartsia, ota näitä tuoksuaineita sekä puhdasta suitsuketta samansuuruiset määrät.

³⁵And thou shalt make it a perfume, a confection after the art of the apothecary, tempered together, pure and holy:

³⁵Tee niistä hyväntuoksuinen suitsukeseos, niin kuin ammattinsa taitaja sen tekee, suolalla jalostettu, puhdas, pyhä.

³⁶And thou shalt beat some of it very small, and put of it before the testimony in the tabernacle of the congregation, where I will meet with thee: it shall be unto you most holy.

³⁶Jauha osa siitä hienoksi ja pane sitä arkun eteen pyhäkkötelttaan, jossa saat kohdata minut. Pitäkää tätä suitsuketta erityisen pyhänä.

³⁷And as for the perfume which thou shalt make, ye shall not make to yourselves according to the composition thereof: it shall be unto thee holy for the LORD.

³⁷Älkää koskaan valmistako muuhun käyttöön suitsuketta, jolla on sama koostumus. Pidä se yksin Herralle pyhitettynä.

³⁸Whosoever shall make like unto that, to smell thereto, shall even be cut off from his people.

³⁸Jos joku tekee sellaista saadakseen itse nauttia sen tuoksusta, hänet hävitettäköön kansansa parista."
