¹Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O LORD.

³If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?

³Jos sinä, Herra, pidät mielessäsi synnit, Herra, kuka silloin kestää?

⁴But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.

⁴Mutta sinun on armo, sinä annat anteeksi, että me eläisimme sinun pelossasi.

⁵I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.

⁵Minä odotan sinua, Herra, odotan sinua koko sielustani ja panen toivoni sinun sanaasi.

⁶My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning.

⁶Minä odotan Herraa kuin vartijat aamua, hartaammin kuin vartijat aamua.

⁷Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption.

⁷Israel, pane toivosi Herraan! Hänen armonsa on runsas, hän voi sinut lunastaa.

⁸And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.

⁸Hän lunastaa Israelin kaikista sen synneistä.
