¹And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.

¹Und ich, meine Brüder, konnte nicht mit euch reden als mit geistlichen, sondern als mit fleischlichen Menschen , als mit Unmündigen in Christus.

²I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.

²Milch habe ich euch zu trinken gegeben, und nicht feste Speise; denn ihr vertruget sie nicht, ja ihr vertraget sie jetzt noch nicht;

³For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

³denn ihr seid noch fleischlich. Solange nämlich Eifersucht und Zank und Zwietracht unter euch sind, seid ihr da nicht fleischlich und wandelt nach Menschenweise?

⁴For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?

⁴Denn wenn einer sagt: Ich halte zu Paulus, der andere aber: Ich zu Apollos! seid ihr da nicht fleischlich?

⁵Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?

⁵Was ist nun Apollos, was ist Paulus? Diener sind sie, durch welche ihr gläubig geworden seid, und zwar, wie es der Herr einem jeglichen gegeben hat.

⁶I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.

⁶Ich habe gepflanzt, Apollos hat begossen, Gott aber hat das Gedeihen gegeben.

⁷So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

⁷So ist also weder der etwas, welcher pflanzt, noch der, welcher begießt, sondern Gott, der das Gedeihen gibt.

⁸Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.

⁸Der aber, welcher pflanzt und der, welcher begießt, sind einer wie der andere; jeder aber wird seinen eigenen Lohn empfangen nach seiner eigenen Arbeit.

⁹For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.

⁹Denn wir sind Gottes Mitarbeiter; ihr aber seid Gottes Ackerfeld und Gottes Bau.

¹⁰According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.

¹⁰Nach der Gnade Gottes, die mir gegeben ist, habe ich als ein weiser Baumeister den Grund gelegt; ein anderer aber baut darauf. Ein jeglicher sehe zu, wie er darauf baue.

¹¹For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

¹¹Denn einen andern Grund kann niemand legen, außer dem, der gelegt ist, welcher ist Jesus Christus.

¹²Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;

¹²Wenn aber jemand auf diesen Grund Gold, Silber, kostbare Steine, Holz, Heu, Stroh baut,

¹³Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

¹³so wird eines jeden Werk offenbar werden; der Tag wird es klar machen, weil es durchs Feuer offenbar wird. Und welcher Art eines jeden Werk ist, wird das Feuer erproben.

¹⁴If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.

¹⁴Wird jemandes Werk, das er darauf gebaut hat, bleiben, so wird er Lohn empfangen;

¹⁵If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

¹⁵wird aber jemandes Werk verbrennen, so wird er Schaden leiden, er selbst aber wird gerettet werden, doch so, wie durchs Feuer hindurch.

¹⁶Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

¹⁶Wisset ihr nicht, daß ihr Gottes Tempel seid und der Geist Gottes in euch wohnt?

¹⁷If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

¹⁷Wenn jemand den Tempel Gottes verderbt, den wird Gott verderben; denn der Tempel Gottes ist heilig, und der seid ihr.

¹⁸Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.

¹⁸Niemand betrüge sich selbst! Dünkt sich jemand unter euch weise zu sein in dieser Weltzeit, so werde er ein Tor, damit er weise werde!

¹⁹For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.

¹⁹Denn die Weisheit dieser Welt ist Torheit vor Gott; denn es steht geschrieben: «Er fängt die Weisen in ihrer List.»

²⁰And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.

²⁰Und wiederum: «Der Herr kennt die Gedanken der Weisen, daß sie eitel sind.»

²¹Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are your's;

²¹So brüste sich nun niemand mit Menschen; denn alles ist euer:

²²Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are your's;

²²es sei Paulus oder Apollos, Kephas oder die Welt, das Leben oder der Tod, das Gegenwärtige oder das Zukünftige; alles ist euer;

²³And ye are Christ's; and Christ is God's.

²³ihr aber seid Christi, Christus aber ist Gottes.
