¹But Solomon was building his own house thirteen years, and he finished all his house.

²He built also the house of the forest of Lebanon; the length thereof was an hundred cubits, and the breadth thereof fifty cubits, and the height thereof thirty cubits, upon four rows of cedar pillars, with cedar beams upon the pillars.

²Er baute nämlich das Haus des Libanon-Waldes; hundert Ellen lang, fünfzig Ellen breit und dreißig Ellen hoch; auf vier Reihen von zedernen Säulen, auf denen zederne Balken lagen;

³And it was covered with cedar above upon the beams, that lay on forty five pillars, fifteen in a row.

³und ein Dach von Zedernholz oben über den Gemächern, die über den Säulen lagen, deren fünfundvierzig waren, je fünfzehn auf einer Reihe.

⁴And there were windows in three rows, and light was against light in three ranks.

⁴Und es waren drei Reihen Balken, und die Fenster lagen einander gegenüber, dreimal.

⁵And all the doors and posts were square, with the windows: and light was against light in three ranks.

⁵Und alle Türen und Pfosten waren viereckig, aus Gebälk, und ein Fenster dem andern gegenüber, dreimal.

⁶And he made a porch of pillars; the length thereof was fifty cubits, and the breadth thereof thirty cubits: and the porch was before them: and the other pillars and the thick beam were before them.

⁶Und er machte eine Säulenhalle, fünfzig Ellen lang und dreißig Ellen breit, und noch eine Vorhalle mit Säulen und einer Schwelle davor.

⁷Then he made a porch for the throne where he might judge, even the porch of judgment: and it was covered with cedar from one side of the floor to the other.

⁷Dazu machte er eine Thronhalle, um dort zu richten, nämlich die Gerichtshalle, und er täfelte sie mit Zedernholz vom Fußboden bis zu den Balken der Decke.

⁸And his house where he dwelt had another court within the porch, which was of the like work. Solomon made also an house for Pharaoh's daughter, whom he had taken to wife, like unto this porch.

⁸Und sein Haus, da er wohnte, im andern Hof, einwärts von der Halle, war von der gleichen Bauart. Salomo baute auch für die Tochter des Pharao, die er zur Gemahlin genommen hatte, ein Haus gleich dieser Halle.

⁹All these were of costly stones, according to the measures of hewed stones, sawed with saws, within and without, even from the foundation unto the coping, and so on the outside toward the great court.

⁹Solches alles ward gemacht aus kostbaren Steinen, nach der Schnur behauen, mit der Säge geschnitten auf der Innen und Außenseite, vom Grunde an bis zum Dach, und draußen bis zum großen Hof.

¹⁰And the foundation was of costly stones, even great stones, stones of ten cubits, and stones of eight cubits.

¹⁰Die Grundfesten aber bestanden aus kostbaren, großen Steinen, aus Steinen von zehn Ellen und Steinen von acht Ellen Länge ,

¹¹And above were costly stones, after the measures of hewed stones, and cedars.

¹¹und darüber lagen kostbare Steine, nach dem Maß behauen, und Zedernbalken.

¹²And the great court round about was with three rows of hewed stones, and a row of cedar beams, both for the inner court of the house of the LORD, and for the porch of the house.

¹²Aber der große Hof, ringsumher, hatte eine Mauer von drei Lagen behauener Steine und einer Lage Zedernbalken; ebenso der innere Hof des Hauses des HERRN und die Halle des Hauses.

¹³And king Solomon sent and fetched Hiram out of Tyre.

¹³Und der König Salomo sandte hin und ließ Hiram von Tyrus holen;

¹⁴He was a widow's son of the tribe of Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tyre, a worker in brass: and he was filled with wisdom, and understanding, and cunning to work all works in brass. And he came to king Solomon, and wrought all his work.

¹⁴der war Sohn einer Witwe aus dem Stamme Naphtali, sein Vater war ein Mann von Tyrus, ein Erzschmied. Der war voll Weisheit, Verstand und Kunstsinn, um allerlei Arbeiten in Erz auszuführen. Er kam zum König Salomo und führte alle Arbeiten für ihn aus.

¹⁵For he cast two pillars of brass, of eighteen cubits high apiece: and a line of twelve cubits did compass either of them about.

¹⁵Er goß die beiden ehernen Säulen; achtzehn Ellen hoch war jede Säule, ein Faden von zwölf Ellen vermochte sie zu umspannen.

¹⁶And he made two chapiters of molten brass, to set upon the tops of the pillars: the height of the one chapiter was five cubits, and the height of the other chapiter was five cubits:

¹⁶Und er machte zwei Knäufe, aus Erz gegossen, um sie oben auf die Säulen zu setzen, und jeder Knauf war fünf Ellen hoch.

¹⁷And nets of checker work, and wreaths of chain work, for the chapiters which were upon the top of the pillars; seven for the one chapiter, and seven for the other chapiter.

¹⁷Kränze, als wären sie geflochten, und Schnüre wie Ketten, waren an den Knäufen oben auf den Säulen, sieben an dem einen Knauf und sieben an dem andern Knauf.

¹⁸And he made the pillars, and two rows round about upon the one network, to cover the chapiters that were upon the top, with pomegranates: and so did he for the other chapiter.

¹⁸Und so machte er die Säulen; und zwei Reihen von Granatäpfeln gingen rings um das eine Flechtwerk, um die Knäufe zu bedecken, die oben auf den Säulen waren, und ebenso machte er es an dem andern Knauf.

¹⁹And the chapiters that were upon the top of the pillars were of lily work in the porch, four cubits.

¹⁹Und die Knäufe oben auf den Säulen waren gemacht wie Lilien, vier Ellen hoch .

²⁰And the chapiters upon the two pillars had pomegranates also above, over against the belly which was by the network: and the pomegranates were two hundred in rows round about upon the other chapiter.

²⁰Und die Knäufe auf den beiden Säulen hatten auch oberhalb, nahe bei der Ausbauchung, welche über dem Flechtwerk war, zweihundert Granatäpfel, ringsum in Reihen geordnet.

²¹And he set up the pillars in the porch of the temple: and he set up the right pillar, and called the name thereof Jachin: and he set up the left pillar, and called the name thereof Boaz.

²¹Und er richtete die Säulen auf bei der Halle des Tempels und nannte die, welche er zur Rechten setzte, Jachin, und die zur Linken hieß er Boas.

²²And upon the top of the pillars was lily work: so was the work of the pillars finished.

²²Und oben auf die Säulen kam das Lilienwerk. Damit war die Arbeit an den Säulen vollendet.

²³And he made a molten sea, ten cubits from the one brim to the other: it was round all about, and his height was five cubits: and a line of thirty cubits did compass it round about.

²³Er machte auch das gegossene Meer, zehn Ellen weit von einem Rande bis zum andern, es war ringsherum rund und fünf Ellen hoch. Und eine dreißig Ellen lange Schnur vermochte es zu umspannen.

²⁴And under the brim of it round about there were knops compassing it, ten in a cubit, compassing the sea round about: the knops were cast in two rows, when it was cast.

²⁴Unterhalb seines Randes umgaben es Koloquinten, je zehn auf die Elle. Der Koloquinten aber waren zwei Reihen, gegossen aus einem Guß mit dem Meer.

²⁵It stood upon twelve oxen, three looking toward the north, and three looking toward the west, and three looking toward the south, and three looking toward the east: and the sea was set above upon them, and all their hinder parts were inward.

²⁵Es stand auf zwölf Rindern, deren drei gegen Mitternacht, drei gegen Abend, drei gegen Mittag und drei gegen Morgen sahen; und das Meer ruhte oben auf ihnen, und das Hinterteil von allen war einwärts gekehrt.

²⁶And it was an hand breadth thick, and the brim thereof was wrought like the brim of a cup, with flowers of lilies: it contained two thousand baths.

²⁶Seine Dicke aber betrug eine Handbreite, und sein Rand war wie der Rand eines Bechers, wie die Blüte einer Lilie, und es faßte zweitausend Bat.

²⁷And he made ten bases of brass; four cubits was the length of one base, and four cubits the breadth thereof, and three cubits the height of it.

²⁷Er machte auch zehn eherne Ständer. Jeder Ständer war vier Ellen lang und vier Ellen breit und drei Ellen hoch.

²⁸And the work of the bases was on this manner: they had borders, and the borders were between the ledges:

²⁸Diese Ständer aber waren so eingerichtet, daß sie Felder zwischen den Eckleisten hatten.

²⁹And on the borders that were between the ledges were lions, oxen, and cherubim: and upon the ledges there was a base above: and beneath the lions and oxen were certain additions made of thin work.

²⁹Und auf den Feldern zwischen den Eckleisten waren Löwen, Rinder und Cherubim; und auf den Eckleisten war es oben ebenso, und unterhalb der Löwen und Rinder waren herabhängende Kränze.

³⁰And every base had four brazen wheels, and plates of brass: and the four corners thereof had undersetters: under the laver were undersetters molten, at the side of every addition.

³⁰Und jeder Ständer hatte vier eherne Räder mit ehernen Achsen; an seinen vier Ecken waren Schulterstücke; unter dem Becken waren die Schulterstücke angegossen, gegenüber den Kränzen.

³¹And the mouth of it within the chapiter and above was a cubit: but the mouth thereof was round after the work of the base, a cubit and an half: and also upon the mouth of it were gravings with their borders, foursquare, not round.

³¹Und seine Öffnung, innerhalb des Kopfstückes und darüber, maß eine Elle, und seine Öffnung war rund, nach Art eines Säulenfußes, anderthalb Ellen; auch an seiner Öffnung war Bildwerk; ihre Felder waren viereckig, nicht rund.

³²And under the borders were four wheels; and the axletrees of the wheels were joined to the base: and the height of a wheel was a cubit and half a cubit.

³²Die vier Räder aber standen unterhalb der Leisten, und die Achsen der Räder waren an dem Ständer. Jedes Rad war anderthalb Ellen hoch.

³³And the work of the wheels was like the work of a chariot wheel: their axletrees, and their naves, and their felloes, and their spokes, were all molten.

³³Und es waren Räder wie Wagenräder. Und ihre Achsen, Naben, Speichen und Felgen waren alle gegossen.

³⁴And there were four undersetters to the four corners of one base: and the undersetters were of the very base itself.

³⁴Es waren auch vier Schulterstücke an den vier Ecken eines jeden Ständers, die waren aus einem Guß mit dem Ständer.

³⁵And in the top of the base was there a round compass of half a cubit high: and on the top of the base the ledges thereof and the borders thereof were of the same.

³⁵Oben an dem Ständer lief eine Art von Gestell von der Höhe einer halben Elle ringsherum, und oben am Ständer waren seine Halter; diese und die Felder aus einem Guß mit ihm.

³⁶For on the plates of the ledges thereof, and on the borders thereof, he graved cherubim, lions, and palm trees, according to the proportion of every one, and additions round about.

³⁶Und er grub auf die Tafeln seiner Seiten und auf seine Leisten Cherubim, Löwen und Palmbäume ein, je nachdem Raum vorhanden war, und Kränze ringsum.

³⁷After this manner he made the ten bases: all of them had one casting, one measure, and one size.

³⁷So machte er die zehn Ständer alle aus einem Guß, nach einerlei Maß und Form.

³⁸Then made he ten lavers of brass: one laver contained forty baths: and every laver was four cubits: and upon every one of the ten bases one laver.

³⁸Und er machte zehn eherne Kessel, vierzig Bat gingen in einen Kessel; ein jeder war vier Ellen weit, und auf jedem der zehn Ständer war ein Kessel.

³⁹And he put five bases on the right side of the house, and five on the left side of the house: and he set the sea on the right side of the house eastward over against the south.

³⁹Er setzte aber fünf Ständer an die rechte Seite und die andern fünf an die linke Seite des Hauses. Aber das Meer stellte er auf die rechte Seite des Hauses, nach Südosten hin.

⁴⁰And Hiram made the lavers, and the shovels, and the basins. So Hiram made an end of doing all the work that he made king Solomon for the house of the LORD:

⁴⁰Und Hiram machte die Töpfe, Schaufeln und Becken; so vollendete er das ganze Werk, welches er dem König Salomo für das Haus des HERRN zu machen hatte:

⁴¹The two pillars, and the two bowls of the chapiters that were on the top of the two pillars; and the two networks, to cover the two bowls of the chapiters which were upon the top of the pillars;

⁴¹die beiden Säulen und die Kugeln der Knäufe oben auf den beiden Säulen, und die beiden Kränze, um die Kugeln der Knäufe auf den Säulen zu decken.

⁴²And four hundred pomegranates for the two networks, even two rows of pomegranates for one network, to cover the two bowls of the chapiters that were upon the pillars;

⁴²Auch die vierhundert Granatäpfel an den beiden Kränzen, je zwei Reihen Granatäpfel an einem Kranz, um die zwei Kugeln der Knäufe auf den Säulen zu bedecken.

⁴³And the ten bases, and ten lavers on the bases;

⁴³Dazu die zehn Ständer und die zehn Kessel oben auf den Ständern.

⁴⁴And one sea, and twelve oxen under the sea;

⁴⁴Und das eine Meer und die zwölf Rinder unter dem Meer.

⁴⁵And the pots, and the shovels, and the basins: and all these vessels, which Hiram made to king Solomon for the house of the LORD, were of bright brass.

⁴⁵Und die Töpfe, Schaufeln und Becken. Und alle diese Geräte, die Hiram dem König Salomo machte für das Haus des HERRN, waren von glänzendem Erz.

⁴⁶In the plain of Jordan did the king cast them, in the clay ground between Succoth and Zarthan.

⁴⁶In der Gegend am Jordan ließ sie der König gießen in lehmiger Erde, zwischen Sukkot und Zartan.

⁴⁷And Solomon left all the vessels unweighed, because they were exceeding many: neither was the weight of the brass found out.

⁴⁷Und Salomo ließ alle diese Geräte ungewogen wegen der sehr großen Menge des Erzes; denn das Gewicht des Erzes konnte man nicht ermitteln.

⁴⁸And Solomon made all the vessels that pertained unto the house of the LORD: the altar of gold, and the table of gold, whereupon the shewbread was,

⁴⁸Salomo machte auch alle Geräte, die zum Hause des HERRN gehörten: den goldenen Altar, den goldenen Tisch, worauf die Schaubrote lagen;

⁴⁹And the candlesticks of pure gold, five on the right side, and five on the left, before the oracle, with the flowers, and the lamps, and the tongs of gold,

⁴⁹fünf Leuchter zur Rechten und fünf Leuchter zur Linken, vor dem Chor, von feinem Gold, mit goldenen Blumen, Lampen und Lichtscheren.

⁵⁰And the bowls, and the snuffers, and the basins, and the spoons, and the censers of pure gold; and the hinges of gold, both for the doors of the inner house, the most holy place, and for the doors of the house, to wit, of the temple.

⁵⁰Dazu Schalen, Messer, Becken, Pfannen und Rauchnäpfe von feinem Gold. Auch die Angeln an den Türen des innern Hauses, des Allerheiligsten, und an den Türen des Tempelhauses waren von Gold.

⁵¹So was ended all the work that king Solomon made for the house of the LORD. And Solomon brought in the things which David his father had dedicated; even the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, did he put among the treasures of the house of the LORD.

⁵¹Als nun das ganze Werk vollendet war, welches der König Salomo am Hause des HERRN machte, brachte Salomo hinein, was sein Vater David geheiligt hatte: das Silber und das Gold und die Geräte legte er in den Schatz des Hauses des HERRN.
