¹When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favor in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house.

¹Wenn jemand ein Weib nimmt und sie ehelicht, und sie findet nicht Gnade vor seinen Augen, weil er etwas Schändliches an ihr gefunden hat, so soll er ihr einen Scheidebrief schreiben und ihr denselben in die Hand geben und sie aus seinem Hause entlassen.

²And when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man's wife.

²Wenn sie dann sein Haus verlassen hat und hingegangen und eines andern Weib geworden ist,

³And if the latter husband hate her, and write her a bill of divorcement, and giveth it in her hand, and sendeth her out of his house; or if the latter husband die, which took her to be his wife;

³und derselbe andere Mann ihr auch gram wird, daß er einen Scheidebrief schreibt und ihr denselben in die Hand gibt und sie aus seinem Hause entläßt; oder wenn der andere Mann stirbt, der sie sich zum Weibe genommen hat

⁴Her former husband, which sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after that she is defiled; for that is abomination before the LORD: and thou shalt not cause the land to sin, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.

⁴so kann ihr erster Mann, der sie entlassen hat, sie nicht wieder nehmen, daß sie alsdann sein Weib sei, nachdem sie verunreinigt worden ist; denn das wäre ein Greuel vor dem HERRN; und du sollst das Land nicht mit Sünde beflecken, das dir der HERR, dein Gott, zum Erbe gegeben hat.

⁵When a man hath taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any business: but he shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer up his wife which he hath taken.

⁵Wenn jemand kürzlich ein Weib genommen hat, so soll er nicht in den Krieg ziehen, und man soll ihm nichts auflegen; er soll in seinem Hause ein Jahr lang frei sein, daß er sich seines Weibes erfreue, das er genommen hat.

⁶No man shall take the nether or the upper millstone to pledge: for he taketh a man's life to pledge.

⁶Man soll niemals den untern oder den obern Mühlstein zum Pfand nehmen, denn damit nähme man das Leben zum Pfande.

⁷If a man be found stealing any of his brethren of the children of Israel, and maketh merchandise of him, or selleth him; then that thief shall die; and thou shalt put evil away from among you.

⁷Wird jemand ertappt, daß er einen von seinen Brüdern unter den Kindern Israel stiehlt und ihn zum Sklaven macht und verkauft, so soll ein solcher Dieb sterben, daß du das Böse von dir ausrottest.

⁸Take heed in the plague of leprosy, that thou observe diligently, and do according to all that the priests the Levites shall teach you: as I commanded them, so ye shall observe to do.

⁸Hüte dich vor der Plage des Aussatzes, daß du mit Fleiß beobachtest und tuest alles, was dich die Priester, die Leviten, lehren. Wie ich ihnen geboten habe, so sollt ihr's pünktlich befolgen!

⁹Remember what the LORD thy God did unto Miriam by the way, after that ye were come forth out of Egypt.

⁹Denke daran, was der HERR, dein Gott, mit Mirjam tat auf dem Wege, als ihr aus Ägypten zoget!

¹⁰When thou dost lend thy brother any thing, thou shalt not go into his house to fetch his pledge.

¹⁰Wenn du deinem Nächsten irgend ein Darlehen gewährst, so sollst du nicht in sein Haus gehen, ihm ein Pfand zu nehmen.

¹¹Thou shalt stand abroad, and the man to whom thou dost lend shall bring out the pledge abroad unto thee.

¹¹Du sollst draußen stehen bleiben, und der, dem du borgst, soll das Pfand zu dir herausbringen.

¹²And if the man be poor, thou shalt not sleep with his pledge:

¹²Ist er aber arm, so sollst du dich mit seinem Pfand nicht schlafen legen;

¹³In any case thou shalt deliver him the pledge again when the sun goeth down, that he may sleep in his own raiment, and bless thee: and it shall be righteousness unto thee before the LORD thy God.

¹³sondern du sollst ihm sein Pfand wiedergeben, wenn die Sonne untergeht, damit er in seinem Kleide schlafe und dich segne; so wird dir das als Gerechtigkeit gelten vor dem HERRN, deinem Gott.

¹⁴Thou shalt not oppress an hired servant that is poor and needy, whether he be of thy brethren, or of thy strangers that are in thy land within thy gates:

¹⁴Du sollst einen armen und elenden Tagelöhner nicht drücken, er sei einer deiner Brüder oder deiner Fremdlinge, die in deinem Lande und in deinen Toren sind.

¹⁵At his day thou shalt give him his hire, neither shall the sun go down upon it; for he is poor, and setteth his heart upon it: lest he cry against thee unto the LORD, and it be sin unto thee.

¹⁵Am gleichen Tag sollst du ihm seinen Lohn geben, ehe die Sonne darüber untergeht; denn er ist arm und sehnt sich darnach; riefe er aber deinetwegen den HERRN an, so würde es dir für Sünde gelten.

¹⁶The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin.

¹⁶Die Väter sollen nicht für die Kinder und die Kinder nicht für die Väter sterben, sondern ein jeder soll für seine Sünde sterben.

¹⁷Thou shalt not pervert the judgment of the stranger, nor of the fatherless; nor take a widow's raiment to pledge:

¹⁷Du sollst das Recht des Fremdlings und des Waisleins nicht beugen und sollst das Kleid der Witwe nicht zum Pfande nehmen.

¹⁸But thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in Egypt, and the LORD thy God redeemed thee thence: therefore I command thee to do this thing.

¹⁸Denn du sollst bedenken, daß du in Ägypten auch ein Knecht gewesen bist und daß der HERR, dein Gott, dich von dannen erlöst hat; darum gebiete ich dir, daß du solches tuest.

¹⁹When thou cuttest down thine harvest in thy field, and hast forgot a sheaf in the field, thou shalt not go again to fetch it: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow: that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hands.

¹⁹Wenn du auf deinem Acker geerntet und eine Garbe auf dem Acker vergessen hast, so sollst du nicht umkehren, sie zu holen; sondern sie soll dem Fremdling, dem Waislein und der Witwe gehören, daß dich der HERR, dein Gott, segne in allem Werk deiner Hände.

²⁰When thou beatest thine olive tree, thou shalt not go over the boughs again: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow.

²⁰Wenn du die Früchte deines Ölbaumes abgeschlagen hast, so sollst du hernach nicht Nachlese halten; es soll dem Fremdling, dem Waislein und der Witwe gehören.

²¹When thou gatherest the grapes of thy vineyard, thou shalt not glean it afterward: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow.

²¹Wenn du deinen Weinberg gelesen hast, so sollst du nicht Nachlese halten; es soll dem Fremdling, dem Waislein und der Witwe gehören.

²²And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in the land of Egypt: therefore I command thee to do this thing.

²²Und du sollst bedenken, daß du in Ägypten auch ein Knecht gewesen bist; darum gebiete ich dir, solches zu tun.
