¹Awake, awake; put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city: for henceforth there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean.

¹Wache auf, wache auf! Zion, ziehe deine Stärke an! Lege deine Ehrenkleider an, Jerusalem, du heilige Stadt! Denn hinfort wird kein Unbeschnittener noch Unreiner mehr in dich hineinkommen.

²Shake thyself from the dust; arise, and sit down, O Jerusalem: loose thyself from the bands of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion.

²Schüttle den Staub von dir ab, stehe auf und setze dich, Jerusalem! Mache dich los von den Fesseln deines Halses, du gefangene Tochter Zion!

³For thus saith the LORD, Ye have sold yourselves for nought; and ye shall be redeemed without money.

³Denn also spricht der HERR: Umsonst seid ihr verkauft worden, so sollt ihr auch ohne Geld erlöst werden.

⁴For thus saith the Lord GOD, My people went down aforetime into Egypt to sojourn there; and the Assyrian oppressed them without cause.

⁴Denn so spricht Gott der HERR: Mein Volk ist vor Zeiten nach Ägypten hinabgezogen, um daselbst in der Fremde zu weilen; aber der Assyrer hat sie ohne Ursache bedrückt.

⁵Now therefore, what have I here, saith the LORD, that my people is taken away for nought? they that rule over them make them to howl, saith the LORD; and my name continually every day is blasphemed.

⁵Nun aber, was habe ich hier zu tun, spricht der HERR, daß mein Volk ohne Entschädigung geraubt wird? Seine Beherrscher jauchzen, spricht der HERR, und mein Name wird beständig, den ganzen Tag, geschmäht.

⁶Therefore my people shall know my name: therefore they shall know in that day that I am he that doth speak: behold, it is I.

⁶Darum soll mein Volk meinen Namen kennen lernen, ja, darum wird es an jenem Tage erkennen, daß ich der bin, welcher spricht: Siehe, hier bin ich!

⁷How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!

⁷Wie lieblich sind auf den Bergen die Füße des Freudenboten, der Frieden verkündigt, der gute Botschaft bringt, der das Heil predigt, der zu Zion sagt:

⁸Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the LORD shall bring again Zion.

⁸Dein Gott ist König! Da ist die Stimme deiner Wächter! Sie werden ihre Stimme erheben und miteinander jauchzen; denn Auge in Auge werden sie es sehen, wenn der HERR wieder nach Zion kommt.

⁹Break forth into joy, sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem: for the LORD hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem.

⁹Ihr Trümmer Jerusalems, freuet euch und frohlocket miteinander! Denn der HERR hat sein Volk getröstet, Jerusalem erlöst!

¹⁰The LORD hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.

¹⁰Der HERR hat seinen heiligen Arm vor den Augen aller Heiden entblößt; und alle Enden der Erde werden das Heil unsres Gottes sehen!

¹¹Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the LORD.

¹¹Weichet! weichet! ziehet aus von dannen! rühret nichts Unreines an! Ziehet weg aus ihrer Mitte! Reiniget euch, die ihr des HERRN Geräte traget!

¹²For ye shall not go out with haste, nor go by flight: for the LORD will go before you; and the God of Israel will be your rereward.

¹²Ihr werdet aber nicht ängstlich davoneilen, noch wie Flüchtlinge gehen; denn der HERR wird vor euch herziehen, und der Gott Israels wird eure Nachhut sein.

¹³Behold, my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high.

¹³Siehe, mein Knecht wird weislich handeln, er wird emporkommen, erhöht werden und sehr erhaben sein.

¹⁴As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men:

¹⁴Gleichwie sich viele über dich entsetzten (so sehr war sein Angesicht entstellt, nicht mehr wie das eines Menschen, und seine Gestalt, nicht mehr wie die der Menschenkinder),

¹⁵So shall he sprinkle many nations; the kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider.

¹⁵also wird er viele Heiden in Erstaunen setzen und Könige werden vor ihm den Mund schließen. Denn was ihnen nie erzählt worden war, das werden sie sehen, und was sie nie gehört hatten, werden sie wahrnehmen.
