¹And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret,

¹Es begab sich aber, als das Volk sich zu ihm drängte, um das Wort Gottes zu hören, stand er am See Genezareth;

²And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets.

²und er sah zwei Schiffe am Ufer liegen; die Fischer aber waren ausgestiegen und wuschen die Netze.

³And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon's, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship.

³Da trat er in eines der Schiffe, das Simon gehörte, und bat ihn, ein wenig vom Lande wegzufahren; und er setzte sich und lehrte die Menge vom Schiffe aus.

⁴Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.

⁴Als er aber zu reden aufgehört hatte, sprach er zu Simon: Fahre hinaus auf die Höhe und lasset eure Netze zu einem Fang hinunter!

⁵And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.

⁵Und Simon antwortete und sprach: Meister, wir haben die ganze Nacht hindurch gearbeitet und nichts gefangen; aber auf dein Wort will ich das Netz auswerfen!

⁶And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.

⁶Und als sie das getan, fingen sie eine große Menge Fische; aber ihr Netz zerriß.

⁷And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.

⁷Da winkten sie den Gefährten, die im andern Schiffe waren, daß sie kämen und ihnen hülfen; und sie kamen und füllten beide Schiffe, so daß sie zu sinken begannen.

⁸When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.

⁸Als aber Simon Petrus das sah, fiel er zu den Knien Jesu und sprach: Herr, gehe von mir hinaus; denn ich bin ein sündiger Mensch!

⁹For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken:

⁹Denn ein Schrecken kam ihn an und alle, die bei ihm waren, wegen des Fischzuges, den sie getan hatten;

¹⁰And so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men.

¹⁰gleicherweise auch Jakobus und Johannes, die Söhne des Zebedäus, die Simons Gehilfen waren. Und Jesus sprach zu Simon: Fürchte dich nicht; von nun an sollst du Menschen fangen!

¹¹And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him.

¹¹Und sie brachten die Schiffe ans Land, verließen alles und folgten ihm nach.

¹²And it came to pass, when he was in a certain city, behold a man full of leprosy: who seeing Jesus fell on his face, and besought him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.

¹²Und es begab sich, als er in einer der Städte war, siehe, da war ein Mann voll Aussatz. Da er aber Jesus sah, warf er sich auf sein Angesicht, bat ihn und sprach: Herr, wenn du willst, so kannst du mich reinigen!

¹³And he put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will: be thou clean. And immediately the leprosy departed from him.

¹³Da streckte er die Hand aus, rührte ihn an und sprach: Ich will es, sei gereinigt! Und alsbald wich der Aussatz von ihm.

¹⁴And he charged him to tell no man: but go, and shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing, according as Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.

¹⁴Und er befahl ihm, es niemand zu sagen, sondern gehe hin, sprach er, zeige dich dem Priester und opfere für deine Reinigung, wie Mose befohlen hat, ihnen zum Zeugnis!

¹⁵But so much the more went there a fame abroad of him: and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by him of their infirmities.

¹⁵Aber die Kunde von ihm breitete sich desto mehr aus; und große Mengen kamen zusammen, um ihn zu hören und von ihren Krankheiten geheilt zu werden.

¹⁶And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed.

¹⁶Er aber hielt sich zurückgezogen an einsamen Orten und betete.

¹⁷And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them.

¹⁷Und es begab sich an einem Tage, daß er lehrte; und es saßen Pharisäer da und Gesetzeslehrer, die aus allen Flecken von Galiläa und Judäa und von Jerusalem gekommen waren; und die Kraft des Herrn war bereit , sie zu heilen.

¹⁸And, behold, men brought in a bed a man which was taken with a palsy: and they sought means to bring him in, and to lay him before him.

¹⁸Und siehe, Männer trugen auf einem Bett einen Menschen, der gelähmt war; und sie suchten ihn hineinzubringen und vor ihn zu legen.

¹⁹And when they could not find by what way they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went upon the housetop, and let him down through the tiling with his couch into the midst before Jesus.

¹⁹Und da sie wegen der Volksmenge keine Möglichkeit fanden, ihn hineinzubringen, stiegen sie auf das Dach und ließen ihn mit dem Bett durch die Ziegel hinunter in die Mitte vor Jesus.

²⁰And when he saw their faith, he said unto him, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee.

²⁰Und als er ihren Glauben sah, sprach er zu ihm: Mensch, deine Sünden sind dir vergeben!

²¹And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this which speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?

²¹Und die Schriftgelehrten und Pharisäer fingen an, sich darüber Gedanken zu machen, und sprachen: Wer ist dieser, der solche Lästerungen ausspricht? Wer kann Sünden vergeben, als nur Gott allein?

²²But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answering said unto them, What reason ye in your hearts?

²²Da aber Jesus ihre Gedanken merkte, antwortete er und sprach zu ihnen: Was denkt ihr in euren Herzen?

²³Whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Rise up and walk?

²³Was ist leichter, zu sagen: Deine Sünden sind dir vergeben, oder zu sagen: Steh auf und wandle?

²⁴But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power upon earth to forgive sins, (he said unto the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go into thine house.

²⁴Damit ihr aber wisset, daß des Menschen Sohn Vollmacht hat, auf Erden Sünden zu vergeben, sprach er zu dem Gelähmten: Ich sage dir, steh auf, nimm dein Bett und gehe heim!

²⁵And immediately he rose up before them, and took up that whereon he lay, and departed to his own house, glorifying God.

²⁵Und alsbald stand er auf vor ihren Augen, nahm das Bett, darauf er gelegen hatte, ging heim und pries Gott.

²⁶And they were all amazed, and they glorified God, and were filled with fear, saying, We have seen strange things to day.

²⁶Da gerieten alle außer sich vor Staunen, und sie priesen Gott und wurden voll Furcht und sprachen: Wir haben heute Unglaubliches gesehen!

²⁷And after these things he went forth, and saw a publican, named Levi, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he said unto him, Follow me.

²⁷Darnach ging er aus und sah einen Zöllner namens Levi beim Zollhaus sitzen und sprach zu ihm: Folge mir nach!

²⁸And he left all, rose up, and followed him.

²⁸Und er verließ alles, stand auf und folgte ihm nach.

²⁹And Levi made him a great feast in his own house: and there was a great company of publicans and of others that sat down with them.

²⁹Und Levi bereitete ihm ein großes Mahl in seinem Hause; und es saß eine große Schar von Zöllnern und andern, die es mit ihnen hielten, zu Tische.

³⁰But their scribes and Pharisees murmured against his disciples, saying, Why do ye eat and drink with publicans and sinners?

³⁰Und die Schriftgelehrten und Pharisäer murrten wider seine Jünger und sprachen: Warum esset und trinket ihr mit den Zöllnern und Sündern?

³¹And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick.

³¹Und Jesus antwortete und sprach zu ihnen: Nicht die Gesunden bedürfen des Arztes, sondern die Kranken;

³²I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

³²ich bin nicht gekommen, Gerechte zu rufen, sondern Sünder zur Buße!

³³And they said unto him, Why do the disciples of John fast often, and make prayers, and likewise the disciples of the Pharisees; but thine eat and drink?

³³Sie aber sprachen zu ihm: Warum fasten die Jünger des Johannes so oft und verrichten Gebete, desgleichen auch die der Pharisäer; die deinigen aber essen und trinken?

³⁴And he said unto them, Can ye make the children of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them?

³⁴Und er sprach zu ihnen: Ihr könnt doch die Hochzeitsleute nicht fasten lassen, solange der Bräutigam bei ihnen ist!

³⁵But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days.

³⁵Es werden aber Tage kommen, da der Bräutigam von ihnen genommen sein wird; dann werden sie fasten in jenen Tagen.

³⁶And he spake also a parable unto them; No man putteth a piece of a new garment upon an old; if otherwise, then both the new maketh a rent, and the piece that was taken out of the new agreeth not with the old.

³⁶Er sagte aber auch ein Gleichnis zu ihnen: Niemand reißt ein Stück von einem neuen Kleide und setzt es auf ein altes Kleid; denn sonst zerreißt er auch das neue, und das Stück vom neuen reimt sich nicht zu dem alten.

³⁷And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish.

³⁷Und niemand faßt neuen Wein in alte Schläuche; denn sonst wird der neue Wein die Schläuche zerreißen, und er selbst wird verschüttet, und die Schläuche kommen um;

³⁸But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved.

³⁸sondern neuen Wein soll man in neue Schläuche fassen, so werden beide erhalten.

³⁹No man also having drunk old wine straightway desireth new: for he saith, The old is better.

³⁹Und niemand, der alten trinkt, will neuen; denn er spricht: Der alte ist gesund!
