1Then all Israel gathered themselves to David unto Hebron, saying, Behold, we are thy bone and thy flesh.
1[] Τοτε συνηχθη πας ο Ισραηλ προς τον Δαβιδ εις Χεβρων, λεγοντες, Ιδου, οστουν σου και σαρξ σου ειμεθα.
2And moreover in time past, even when Saul was king, thou wast he that leddest out and broughtest in Israel: and the LORD thy God said unto thee, Thou shalt feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be ruler over my people Israel.
2Και προτερον ετι και οτε εβασιλευεν ο Σαουλ, συ ησο ο εξαγων και εισαγων τον Ισραηλ· και προς σε ειπε Κυριος ο Θεος σου, συ θελεις ποιμανει τον λαον μου τον Ισραηλ, και συ θελεις εισθαι ηγεμων επι τον λαον μου τον Ισραηλ.
3Therefore came all the elders of Israel to the king to Hebron; and David made a covenant with them in Hebron before the LORD; and they anointed David king over Israel, according to the word of the LORD by Samuel.
3Και ηλθον παντες οι πρεσβυτεροι του Ισραηλ προς τον βασιλεα εις Χεβρων· και εκαμεν ο Δαβιδ συνθηκην μετ' αυτων εν Χεβρων ενωπιον του Κυριου· και εχρισαν τον Δαβιδ βασιλεα επι τον Ισραηλ, κατα τον λογον του Κυριου τον λαληθεντα δια του Σαμουηλ.
4And David and all Israel went to Jerusalem, which is Jebus; where the Jebusites were, the inhabitants of the land.
4Και υπηγον ο Δαβιδ και πας ο Ισραηλ εις Ιερουσαλημ, ητις ειναι η Ιεβους, οπου ησαν οι Ιεβουσαιοι, οι κατοικουντες την γην.
5And the inhabitants of Jebus said to David, Thou shalt not come hither. Nevertheless David took the castle of Zion, which is the city of David.
5Και οι κατοικοι της Ιεβους ειπον προς τον Δαβιδ, Δεν θελεις εισελθει ενταυθα. Αλλ' ο Δαβιδ εκυριευσε το φρουριον Σιων, ητις ειναι η πολις Δαβιδ.
6And David said, Whosoever smiteth the Jebusites first shall be chief and captain. So Joab the son of Zeruiah went first up, and was chief.
6Και ειπεν ο Δαβιδ, Οστις πρωτος παταξη τους Ιεβουσαιους, θελει εισθαι αρχηγος και στρατηγος. Πρωτος δε ανεβη ο Ιωαβ, ο υιος της Σερουιας, και εγεινεν αρχηγος.
7And David dwelt in the castle; therefore they called it the city of David.
7Και κατωκησεν ο Δαβιδ εν τω φρουριω· οθεν ωνομασαν αυτην πολιν Δαβιδ.
8And he built the city round about, even from Millo round about: and Joab repaired the rest of the city.
8Και ωκοδομησε την πολιν κυκλοθεν απο Μιλλω και κυκλω· και επεσκευασεν ο Ιωαβ το επιλοιπον της πολεως.
9So David waxed greater and greater: for the LORD of hosts was with him.
9Και προεχωρει ο Δαβιδ μεγαλυνομενος· και ο Κυριος των δυναμεων ητο μετ αυτου.
10These also are the chief of the mighty men whom David had, who strengthened themselves with him in his kingdom, and with all Israel, to make him king, according to the word of the LORD concerning Israel.
10[] Ουτοι δε ησαν οι αρχηγοι των ισχυρων, τους οποιους ειχεν ο Δαβιδ, οιτινες ηγωνισθησαν μετ' αυτου δια την βασιλειαν αυτου, μετα παντος του Ισραηλ, δια να καμωσιν αυτον βασιλεα, κατα τον λογον του Κυριου τον περι του Ισραηλ.
11And this is the number of the mighty men whom David had; Jashobeam, an Hachmonite, the chief of the captains: he lifted up his spear against three hundred slain by him at one time.
11Και ουτος ειναι ο αριθμος των ισχυρων τους οποιους ειχεν ο Δαβιδ· Ιασωβεαμ ο υιος του Αχμονι, πρωτος των οπλαρχηγων· ουτος σειων την λογχην αυτου εναντιον τριακοσιων, εθανατωσεν αυτους εν μια μαχη.
12And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodo, the Ahohite, who was one of the three mighties.
12Και μετ' αυτον Ελεαζαρ ο υιος του Δωδω· ο Αχωχιτης, οστις ητο εις εκ των τριων ισχυρων.
13He was with David at Pasdammim, and there the Philistines were gathered together to battle, where was a parcel of ground full of barley; and the people fled from before the Philistines.
13Ουτος ητο μετα του Δαβιδ εν Φασ-δαμμειμ, και οι Φιλισταιοι συνηθροισθησαν εκει δια πολεμον, οπου ητο μεριδιον αγρου πληρες κριθης· ο δε λαος εφυγεν απο προσωπου των Φιλισταιων.
14And they set themselves in the midst of that parcel, and delivered it, and slew the Philistines; and the LORD saved them by a great deliverance.
14Και ουτοι εστηλωθησαν εν τω μεσω του μεριδιου και ηλευθερωσαν αυτο και επαταξαν τους Φιλισταιους· και ο Κυριος εκαμε σωτηριαν μεγαλην.
15Now three of the thirty captains went down to the rock to David, into the cave of Adullam; and the host of the Philistines encamped in the valley of Rephaim.
15Κατεβησαν ετι τρεις εκ των τριακοντα αρχηγων εις την πετραν προς τον Δαβιδ, εις το σπηλαιον Οδολλαμ· το δε στρατοπεδον των Φιλισταιων εστρατοπεδευεν εν τη κοιλαδι Ραφαειμ.
16And David was then in the hold, and the Philistines' garrison was then at Bethlehem.
16Και ο Δαβιδ ητο τοτε εν τω οχυρωματι και η φρουρα των Φιλισταιων τοτε ο εν Βηθλεεμ.
17And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem, that is at the gate!
17Και επεποθησεν ο Δαβιδ υδωρ και ειπε, Τις ηθελε μοι δωσει να πιω υδωρ εκ του φρεατος της Βηθλεεμ, του εν τη πυλη;
18And the three brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: but David would not drink of it, but poured it out to the LORD.
18Και οι τρεις διασχισαντες το στρατοπεδον των Φιλισταιων, ηντλησαν υδωρ εκ του φρεατος της Βηθλεεμ του εν τη πυλη, και λαβοντες εφεραν προς τον Δαβιδ· πλην ο Δαβιδ δεν ηθελησε να πιη αυτο, αλλ' εκαμεν αυτο σπονδην εις τον Κυριον,
19And said, My God forbid it me, that I should do this thing: shall I drink the blood of these men that have put their lives in jeopardy? for with the jeopardy of their lives they brought it. Therefore he would not drink it. These things did these three mightiest.
19λεγων, Μη γενοιτο εις εμε παρα του Θεου μου να καμω τουτο· θελω πιει το αιμα των ανδρων τουτων, οιτινες εξεθεσαν την ζωην αυτων εις κινδυνον; διοτι μετα κινδυνου της ζωης αυτων εφεραν αυτο. Δια τουτο δεν ηθελησε να πιη αυτο· ταυτα εκαμον οι τρεις ισχυροι.
20And Abishai the brother of Joab, he was chief of the three: for lifting up his spear against three hundred, he slew them, and had a name among the three.
20Και Αβισαι ο αδελφος του Ιωαβ, ουτος ητο πρωτος των τριων· και ουτος σειων την λογχην αυτου εναντιον τριακοσιων, εθανατωσεν αυτους και απεκτησεν ονομα μεταξυ των τριων.
21Of the three, he was more honorable than the two; for he was their captain: howbeit he attained not to the first three.
21Εκ των τριων, ητο ενδοξοτερος υπερ τους δυο και εγεινεν αρχηγος αυτων· δεν εφθασεν ομως μεχρι των τριων πρωτων.
22Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man of Kabzeel, who had done many acts; he slew two lionlike men of Moab: also he went down and slew a lion in a pit in a snowy day.
22Βεναιας ο υιος του Ιωδαε, ο υιος ανδρος δυνατου απο Καβσεηλ, οστις εκαμε πολλα ανδραγαθηματα, ουτος επαταξε τους δυο λεοντωδεις ανδρας του Μωαβ· ουτος ετι κατεβη και επαταξε λεοντα εν μεσω του λακκου εν ημερα χιονος·
23And he slew an Egyptian, a man of great stature, five cubits high; and in the Egyptian's hand was a spear like a weaver's beam; and he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian's hand, and slew him with his own spear.
23ουτος ετι επαταξε τον ανδρα τον Αιγυπτιον, ανδρα μεγαλου αναστηματος, πενταπηχον· και εν τη χειρι του Αιγυπτιου ητο λογχη ως αντιον υφαντου· κατεβη δε προς αυτον με ραβδον, και αρπασας την λογχην εκ της χειρος του Αιγυπτιου εθανατωσεν αυτον δια της ιδιας αυτου λογχης·
24These things did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and had the name among the three mighties.
24ταυτα εκαμε Βεναιας ο υιος του Ιωδαε, και απεκτησεν ονομα μεταξυ των τριων ισχυρων·
25Behold, he was honorable among the thirty, but attained not to the first three: and David set him over his guard.
25ιδου, αυτος εσταθη ενδοξοτερος των τριακοντα, δεν εφθασεν ομως μεχρι των τριων πρωτων· και κατεστησεν αυτον ο Δαβιδ επι των δορυφορων αυτου.
26Also the valiant men of the armies were, Asahel the brother of Joab, Elhanan the son of Dodo of Bethlehem,
26Και οι ισχυροι των στρατευματων ησαν Ασαηλ ο αδελφος του Ιωαβ, Ελχαναν ο υιος του Δωδω εκ της Βηθλεεμ,
27Shammoth the Harorite, Helez the Pelonite,
27Σαμμωθ ο Αρουριτης, Χελης ο Φελωνιτης,
28Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite, Abiezer the Antothite,
28Ιρας ο υιος του Ικκης ο Θεκωιτης, Αβιεζερ ο Αναθωθιτης,
29Sibbecai the Hushathite, Ilai the Ahohite,
29Σιββεχαι ο Χουσαθιτης, Ιλαι ο Αχωχιτης,
30Maharai the Netophathite, Heled the son of Baanah the Netophathite,
30Μααραι ο Νετωφαθιτης, Χελεδ ο υιος του Βαανα Νετωφαθιτης,
31Ithai the son of Ribai of Gibeah, that pertained to the children of Benjamin, Benaiah the Pirathonite,

32Hurai of the brooks of Gaash, Abiel the Arbathite,
