¹Hezekiah began to reign when he was five and twenty years old, and he reigned nine and twenty years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Abijah, the daughter of Zechariah.

¹[] Ο Εζεκιας εβασιλευσεν ηλικιας εικοσιπεντε ετων, και εβασιλευσεν εικοσιεννεα ετη εν Ιερουσαλημ· το δε ονομα της μητρος αυτου ητο Αβια, θυγατηρ του Ζαχαριου.

²And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that David his father had done.

²Και επραξε το ευθες ενωπιον Κυριου, κατα παντα οσα επραξε Δαβιδ ο πατηρ αυτου.

³He in the first year of his reign, in the first month, opened the doors of the house of the LORD, and repaired them.

³Ουτος εν τω πρωτω ετει της βασιλειας αυτου, τον πρωτον μηνα, ηνοιξε τας θυρας του οικου του Κυριου και επεσκευασεν αυτας.

⁴And he brought in the priests and the Levites, and gathered them together into the east street,

⁴Και εισηγαγε τους ιερεις και τους Λευιτας, και συνηγαγεν αυτους εις την ανατολικην πλατειαν,

⁵And said unto them, Hear me, ye Levites, sanctify now yourselves, and sanctify the house of the LORD God of your fathers, and carry forth the filthiness out of the holy place.

⁵και ειπε προς αυτους, Ακουσατε μου, Λευιται· Αγιασθητε τωρα, και αγιασατε τον ναον Κυριου του Θεου των πατερων σας και εκβαλετε την ακαθαρσιαν εκ του αγιου τοπου.

⁶For our fathers have trespassed, and done that which was evil in the eyes of the LORD our God, and have forsaken him, and have turned away their faces from the habitation of the LORD, and turned their backs.

⁶Διοτι οι πατερες ημων παρηνομησαν και επραξαν πονηρα ενωπιον Κυριου του Θεου ημων και εγκατελιπον αυτον, και απεστρεψαν τα προσωπα αυτων απο του κατοικητηριου του Κυριου και εστρεψαν τα νωτα·

⁷Also they have shut up the doors of the porch, and put out the lamps, and have not burned incense nor offered burnt offerings in the holy place unto the God of Israel.

⁷και εκλεισαν τας θυρας του προναου και εσβεσαν τους λυχνους και θυμιαμα δεν εθυμιαζον και ολοκαυτωματα δεν προσεφερον εις τον Θεον του Ισραηλ εν τω αγιω τοπω.

⁸Wherefore the wrath of the LORD was upon Judah and Jerusalem, and he hath delivered them to trouble, to astonishment, and to hissing, as ye see with your eyes.

⁸Δια τουτο η οργη του Κυριου ηλθεν επι τον Ιουδαν και την Ιερουσαλημ, και παρεδωκεν αυτους εις διασποραν, εις εκστασιν και εις συριγμον, καθως βλεπετε με τους οφθαλμους σας.

⁹For, lo, our fathers have fallen by the sword, and our sons and our daughters and our wives are in captivity for this.

⁹Διοτι ιδου, οι πατερες ημων επεσον δια μαχαιρας· και οι υιοι ημων και αι θυγατερες ημων και αι γυναικες ημων ειναι δια τουτο εις αιχμαλωσιαν.

¹⁰Now it is in mine heart to make a covenant with the LORD God of Israel, that his fierce wrath may turn away from us.

¹⁰Τωρα λοιπον εχω εν τη καρδια μου να καμω διαθηκην προς τον Κυριον τον Θεον του Ισραηλ, δια να αποστρεψη την οργην του θυμου αυτου αφ' ημων.

¹¹My sons, be not now negligent: for the LORD hath chosen you to stand before him, to serve him, and that ye should minister unto him, and burn incense.

¹¹Τεκνα μου, μη πλανασθε τωρα· διοτι ο Κυριος σας εξελεξε δια να παριστασθε ενωπιον αυτου, να υπηρετητε αυτον και να ησθε λειτουργοι αυτου και να θυμιαζητε.

¹²Then the Levites arose, Mahath the son of Amasai, and Joel the son of Azariah, of the sons of the Kohathites: and of the sons of Merari, Kish the son of Abdi, and Azariah the son of Jehalelel: and of the Gershonites; Joah the son of Zimmah, and Eden the son of Joah:

¹²[] Τοτε εσηκωθησαν οι Λευιται, Μααθ ο υιος του Αμασαι και Ιωηλ ο υιος του Αζαριου, εκ των υιων των Κααθιτων· εκ δε των υιων του Μεραρι, Κεις ο υιος του Αβδι και Αζαριας ο υιος του Ιαλελεηλ· και εκ των Γηρσωνιτων, Ιωαχ ο υιος του Ζιμμα και Εδεν ο υιος του Ιωαχ·

¹³And of the sons of Elizaphan; Shimri, and Jeiel: and of the sons of Asaph; Zechariah, and Mattaniah:

¹³και εκ των υιων του Ελισαφαν, Σιμρι και Ιειηλ· και εκ των υιων του Ασαφ, Ζαχαριας και Ματθανιας·

¹⁴And of the sons of Heman; Jehiel, and Shimei: and of the sons of Jeduthun; Shemaiah, and Uzziel.

¹⁴και εκ των υιων του Αιμαν, Ιεχιηλ και Σιμει· και εκ των υιων του Ιεδουθουν, Σεμαιας και Οζιηλ.

¹⁵And they gathered their brethren, and sanctified themselves, and came, according to the commandment of the king, by the words of the LORD, to cleanse the house of the LORD.

¹⁵Και συνηγαγον τους αδελφους αυτων και ηγιασθησαν και ηλθον, ως προσεταξεν ο βασιλευς δια του λογου του Κυριου, να καθαρισωσι τον οικον του Κυριου.

¹⁶And the priests went into the inner part of the house of the LORD, to cleanse it, and brought out all the uncleanness that they found in the temple of the LORD into the court of the house of the LORD. And the Levites took it, to carry it out abroad into the brook Kidron.

¹⁶Και εισηλθον οι ιερεις εις το ενδοτερον του οικου του Κυριου, δια να καθαρισωσιν αυτον· και εξεβαλον πασαν την ακαθαρσιαν την ευρεθεισαν εν τω ναω του Κυριου, εν τη αυλη του οικου του Κυριου· οι δε Λευιται λαβοντες, εφεραν εξω εις τον χειμαρρον Κεδρων.

¹⁷Now they began on the first day of the first month to sanctify, and on the eighth day of the month came they to the porch of the LORD: so they sanctified the house of the LORD in eight days; and in the sixteenth day of the first month they made an end.

¹⁷Και ηρχισαν να αγιαζωσι τη πρωτη του μηνος του πρωτου, και τη ογδοη ημερα του μηνος εισηλθον εις τον προναον του Κυριου. Και ηγιασαν τον οικον του Κυριου εν οκτω ημεραις, και τη δεκατη εκτη του μηνος του πρωτου ετελειωσαν.

¹⁸Then they went in to Hezekiah the king, and said, We have cleansed all the house of the LORD, and the altar of burnt offering, with all the vessels thereof, and the shewbread table, with all the vessels thereof.

¹⁸Τοτε εισηλθον προς Εζεκιαν τον βασιλεα και ειπον, Εκαθαρισαμεν ολον τον οικον του Κυριου και το θυσιαστηριον της ολοκαυτωσεως και παντα τα σκευη αυτου και την τραπεζαν της προθεσεως και παντα τα σκευη αυτης·

¹⁹Moreover all the vessels, which king Ahaz in his reign did cast away in his transgression, have we prepared and sanctified, and, behold, they are before the altar of the LORD.

¹⁹και παντα τα σκευη, τα οποια εμιανεν ο βασιλευς Αχαζ επι της βασιλειας αυτου, οτε απεστατησεν, ητοιμασαμεν και ηγιασαμεν· και ιδου, ειναι εμπροσθεν του θυσιαστηριου του Κυριου.

²⁰Then Hezekiah the king rose early, and gathered the rulers of the city, and went up to the house of the LORD.

²⁰[] Τοτε εξηγερθη Εζεκιας ο βασιλευς, και συναγαγων τους αρχοντας της πολεως, ανεβη προς τον οικον του Κυριου.

²¹And they brought seven bullocks, and seven rams, and seven lambs, and seven he goats, for a sin offering for the kingdom, and for the sanctuary, and for Judah. And he commanded the priests the sons of Aaron to offer them on the altar of the LORD.

²¹Και εφεραν επτα μοσχους και επτα κριους και επτα αρνια και επτα τραγους δια προσφοραν περι αμαρτιας υπερ της βασιλειας και υπερ του αγιαστηριου και υπερ του Ιουδα. Και ειπε προς τους ιερεις, τους υιους Ααρων, να προσφερωσιν αυτα επι του θυσιαστηριου του Κυριου.

²²So they killed the bullocks, and the priests received the blood, and sprinkled it on the altar: likewise, when they had killed the rams, they sprinkled the blood upon the altar: they killed also the lambs, and they sprinkled the blood upon the altar.

²²Και εσφαξαν τους μοσχους· και παραλαβοντες οι ιερεις το αιμα, ερραντισαν επι το θυσιαστηριον· ομοιως εσφαξαν τους κριους και ερραντισαν το αιμα επι το θυσιαστηριον· και εσφαξαν τα αρνια και ερραντισαν το αιμα επι το θυσιαστηριον.

²³And they brought forth the he goats for the sin offering before the king and the congregation; and they laid their hands upon them:

²³Επειτα προσηγαγον τους τραγους, δια την περι αμαρτιας προσφοραν, εμπροσθεν του βασιλεως και της συναξεως, οι δε επεθεσαν τας χειρας αυτων επ' αυτους·

²⁴And the priests killed them, and they made reconciliation with their blood upon the altar, to make an atonement for all Israel: for the king commanded that the burnt offering and the sin offering should be made for all Israel.

²⁴και εσφαξαν αυτους οι ιερεις και ερραντισαν το αιμα αυτων περι αμαρτιας επι το θυσιαστηριον, δια να καμωσιν εξιλεωσιν υπερ παντος του Ισραηλ· διοτι ο βασιλευς προσεταξε το ολοκαυτωμα και την περι αμαρτιας προσφοραν υπερ παντος του Ισραηλ.

²⁵And he set the Levites in the house of the LORD with cymbals, with psalteries, and with harps, according to the commandment of David, and of Gad the king's seer, and Nathan the prophet: for so was the commandment of the LORD by his prophets.

²⁵Και εστησε τους Λευιτας εν τω οικω του Κυριου εν κυμβαλοις, εν ψαλτηριοις και εν κιθαραις, κατα το προσταγμα του Δαβιδ και Γαδ του βλεποντος του βασιλεως και Ναθαν του προφητου· διοτι το προσταγμα ητο παρα Κυριου δια των προφητων αυτου.

²⁶And the Levites stood with the instruments of David, and the priests with the trumpets.

²⁶Και εσταθησαν οι Λευιται με τα οργανα του Δαβιδ και οι ιερεις με τας σαλπιγγας.

²⁷And Hezekiah commanded to offer the burnt offering upon the altar. And when the burnt offering began, the song of the LORD began also with the trumpets, and with the instruments ordained by David king of Israel.

²⁷Και ειπεν ο Εζεκιας να προσφερωσι την ολοκαυτωσιν επι του θυσιαστηριου. Και οτε ηρχισεν η ολοκαυτωσις, ηρχισεν ο υμνος του Κυριου, με τας σαλπιγγας και με τα οργανα τα διωρισμενα παρα του Δαβιδ βασιλεως του Ισραηλ.

²⁸And all the congregation worshipped, and the singers sang, and the trumpeters sounded: and all this continued until the burnt offering was finished.

²⁸Και προσεκυνει πασα η συναξις και εψαλλον οι ψαλτωδοι και οι σαλπιγκται εσαλπιζον· ολον τουτο εξηκολουθει εωσου ετελειωσεν η ολοκαυτωσις.

²⁹And when they had made an end of offering, the king and all that were present with him bowed themselves, and worshipped.

²⁹Και ως ετελειωσαν προσφεροντες, εκλιναν ο βασιλευς και παντες οι ευρεθεντες μετ' αυτου και προσεκυνησαν.

³⁰Moreover Hezekiah the king and the princes commanded the Levites to sing praise unto the LORD with the words of David, and of Asaph the seer. And they sang praises with gladness, and they bowed their heads and worshipped.

³⁰Και ειπε προς τους Λευιτας Εζεκιας ο βασιλευς και οι αρχοντες να υμνωσι τον Κυριον με τους λογους του Δαβιδ και Ασαφ του βλεποντος. Και υμνησαν εν ευφροσυνη και κυψαντες προσεκυνησαν.

³¹Then Hezekiah answered and said, Now ye have consecrated yourselves unto the LORD, come near and bring sacrifices and thank offerings into the house of the LORD. And the congregation brought in sacrifices and thank offerings; and as many as were of a free heart burnt offerings.

³¹Τοτε αποκριθεις ο Εζεκιας ειπε, Τωρα εισθε καθιερωμενοι εις τον Κυριον· προσελθετε και προσφερετε θυσιας και ευχαριστηριους προσφορας εν τω οικω του Κυριου. Και προσεφερεν η συναξις θυσιας και ευχαριστηριους προσφορας, και πας προθυμος την καρδιαν, ολοκαυτωματα.

³²And the number of the burnt offerings, which the congregation brought, was threescore and ten bullocks, an hundred rams, and two hundred lambs: all these were for a burnt offering to the LORD.

³²Και εγεινεν ο αριθμος των ολοκαυτωματων, τα οποια προσεφερεν η συναξις, εβδομηκοντα μοσχοι, εκατον κριοι, διακοσια αρνια· παντα ταυτα ησαν δια ολοκαυτωσιν προς τον Κυριον.

³³And the consecrated things were six hundred oxen and three thousand sheep.

³³Τα δε αφιερωματα ησαν εξακοσιοι βοες και τρισχιλια προβατα.

³⁴But the priests were too few, so that they could not flay all the burnt offerings: wherefore their brethren the Levites did help them, till the work was ended, and until the other priests had sanctified themselves: for the Levites were more upright in heart to sanctify themselves than the priests.

³⁴Οι ιερεις ομως ησαν ολιγοι και δεν ηδυναντο να εκδερωσι παντα τα ολοκαυτωματα· οθεν οι αδελφοι αυτων οι Λευιται εβοηθησαν αυτους, εωσου η εργασια συνετελεσθη και εωσου ηγιασθησαν οι ιερεις· διοτι οι Λευιται εσταθησαν ευθυτεροι την καρδιαν εις το να αγιασθωσι, παρα οι ιερεις.

³⁵And also the burnt offerings were in abundance, with the fat of the peace offerings, and the drink offerings for every burnt offering. So the service of the house of the LORD was set in order.

³⁵Ετι δε τα ολοκαυτωματα ησαν πολλα, μετα των στεατων των ειρηνικων προσφορων, και μετα των σπονδων δι' εκαστον ολοκαυτωμα. Ουτως αποκατεσταθη η υπηρεσια του οικου του Κυριου.

³⁶And Hezekiah rejoiced, and all the people, that God had prepared the people: for the thing was done suddenly.

³⁶Και ευφρανθη ο Εζεκιας και πας ο λαος, οτι ο Θεος προδιεθεσε τον λαον· επειδη το πραγμα εγεινεν αιφνιδιως.
