1We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.
1[] Οντες δε συνεργοι αυτου, παρακαλουμεν ενταυτω να μη δεχθητε την χαριν του Θεου ματαιως·
2(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)
2διοτι λεγει· Εν καιρω δεκτω επηκουσα σου και εν ημερα σωτηριας σε εβοηθησα· ιδου, τωρα καιρος ευπροσδεκτος, ιδου, τωρα ημερα σωτηριας·
3Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed:
3μη διδοντες μηδεν προσκομμα κατ' ουδεν, δια να μη προσαφθη μωμος εις την διακονιαν,
4But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses,
4αλλα εν παντι συνιστωντες εαυτους ως υπηρεται Θεου, εν υπομονη πολλη, εν θλιψεσιν, εν αναγκαις, εν στενοχωριαις,
5In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings;
5εν ραβδισμοις, εν φυλακαις, εν ακαταστασιαις, εν κοποις, εν αγρυπνιαις, εν νηστειαις,
6By pureness, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by love unfeigned,
6εν καθαροτητι, εν γνωσει, εν μακροθυμια, εν χρηστοτητι, εν Πνευματι Αγιω, εν αγαπη ανυποκριτω,
7By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,
7εν λογω αληθειας, εν δυναμει Θεου, δια των οπλων της δικαιοσυνης των δεξιων και αριστερων,
8By honour and dishonour, by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and yet true;
8δια δοξης και ατιμιας, δια δυσφημιας και ευφημιας, ως πλανοι ομως αληθεις,
9As unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and, behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed;
9ως αγνοουμενοι αλλα καλως γνωριζομενοι, ως αποθνησκοντες αλλ ιδου, ζωμεν, ως παιδευομενοι αλλα μη θανατουμενοι,
10As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.
10ως λυπουμενοι παντοτε ομως χαιροντες, ως πτωχοι πολλους ομως πλουτιζοντες, ως μηδεν εχοντες και τα παντα κατεχοντες.
11O ye Corinthians, our mouth is open unto you, our heart is enlarged.
11[] Το στομα ημων ηνοιχθη προς εσας, Κορινθιοι, η καρδια ημων επλατυνθη·
12Ye are not straitened in us, but ye are straitened in your own bowels.
12δεν εχετε στενοχωριαν εν ημιν, αλλ' εχετε στενοχωριαν εν τοις σπλαγχνοις υμων·
13Now for a recompence in the same, (I speak as unto my children,) be ye also enlarged.
13την αυτην λοιπον αντιμισθιαν αποδιδοντες, ως προς τεκνα λαλω, πλατυνθητε και σεις.
14Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
14Μη ομοζυγειτε με τους απιστους· διοτι τινα μετοχην εχει η δικαιοσυνη με την ανομιαν; τινα δε κοινωνιαν το φως προς το σκοτος;
15And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
15Τινα δε συμφωνιαν ο Χριστος με τον Βελιαλ; η τινα μεριδα ο πιστος με τον απιστον;
16And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
16Τινα δε συμβιβασιν ο ναος του Θεου με τα ειδωλα; διοτι σεις εισθε ναος Θεου ζωντος, καθως ειπεν ο Θεος οτι θελω κατοικει εν αυτοις και περιπατει, και θελω εισθαι Θεος αυτων, και αυτοι θελουσιν εισθαι λαος μου.
17Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
17Δια τουτο. Εξελθετε εκ μεσου αυτων και αποχωρισθητε, λεγει Κυριος, και μη εγγισητε ακαθαρτον, και εγω θελω σας δεχθη,
18And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
18και θελω εισθαι Πατηρ σας, και σεις θελετε εισθαι υιοι μου και θυγατερες, λεγει Κυριος παντοκρατωρ.
