¹Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

¹[] Και εγεινε λογος Κυριου προς εμε; λεγων,

²Now, thou son of man, wilt thou judge, wilt thou judge the bloody city? yea, thou shalt shew her all her abominations.

²Και συ, υιε ανθρωπου, θελεις κρινει, θελεις κρινει την πολιν των αιματων; και θελεις παραστησει εις αυτην παντα τα βδελυγματα αυτης;

³Then say thou, Thus saith the Lord GOD, The city sheddeth blood in the midst of it, that her time may come, and maketh idols against herself to defile herself.

³Ειπε λοιπον, Ουτω λεγει Κυριος ο Θεος· Ω πολις εκχεουσα αιματα μεσω εαυτης, δια να ελθη ο καιρος αυτης, και κατασκευαζουσα ειδωλα εναντιον εαυτης, δια να μιαινηται,

⁴Thou art become guilty in thy blood that thou hast shed; and hast defiled thyself in thine idols which thou hast made; and thou hast caused thy days to draw near, and art come even unto thy years: therefore have I made thee a reproach unto the heathen, and a mocking to all countries.

⁴εγεινας ενοχος εν τω αιματι σου, το οποιον εξεχεας, και εμιανθης εν τοις ειδωλοις σου, τα οποια κατεσκευασας, και εκαμες να πλησιασωσιν αι ημεραι σου, και ηλθες μεχρι των ετων σου· δια τουτο σε κατεστησα ονειδος εις τα εθνη και παιγνιον εις παντας τους τοπους.

⁵Those that be near, and those that be far from thee, shall mock thee, which art infamous and much vexed.

⁵Οι πλησιον και οι μακραν απο σου θελουσιν εμπαιξει σε, μεμολυσμενη κατα το ονομα, μεγαλη κατα τας συμφορας.

⁶Behold, the princes of Israel, every one were in thee to their power to shed blood.

⁶Ιδου, οι αρχοντες του Ισραηλ ησαν εν σοι, δια να χυνωσιν αιμα, εκαστος κατα την δυναμιν αυτου.

⁷In thee have they set light by father and mother: in the midst of thee have they dealt by oppression with the stranger: in thee have they vexed the fatherless and the widow.

⁷Εν σοι κατεφρονουν πατερα και μητερα· εν μεσω σου εφεροντο απατηλως προς τον ξενον· εν σοι κατεδυναστευον τον ορφανον και την χηραν.

⁸Thou hast despised mine holy things, and hast profaned my sabbaths.

⁸Τα αγια μου κατεφρονησας και τα σαββατα μου εβεβηλωσας.

⁹In thee are men that carry tales to shed blood: and in thee they eat upon the mountains: in the midst of thee they commit lewdness.

⁹Εν σοι ησαν ανδρες συκοφανται δια να χυνωσιν αιμα, και εν σοι ετρωγον επι των ορεων, εν μεσω σου πραττουσιν ανοσιουργιας.

¹⁰In thee have they discovered their fathers' nakedness: in thee have they humbled her that was set apart for pollution.

¹⁰Εν σοι εξεσκεπασαν αισχυνην πατρος, εν σοι εταπεινωσαν την αποκεχωρισμενην εν τη ακαθαρσια αυτης.

¹¹And one hath committed abomination with his neighbour's wife; and another hath lewdly defiled his daughter in law; and another in thee hath humbled his sister, his father's daughter.

¹¹Και ο μεν επραξε βδελυριαν μετα της γυναικος του πλησιον αυτου, ο δε εμιανεν ανοσιως την νυμφην αυτου, και αλλος εν σοι εταπεινωσε την αδελφην αυτου, την θυγατερα του πατρος αυτου.

¹²In thee have they taken gifts to shed blood; thou hast taken usury and increase, and thou hast greedily gained of thy neighbours by extortion, and hast forgotten me, saith the Lord GOD.

¹²Εν σοι ελαμβανον δωρα δια να εκχεωσιν αιμα· ελαβες τοκον και προσθηκην και δι' απατης ησχροκερδησας απο των πλησιον σου, και ελησμονησας εμε, λεγει Κυριος ο Θεος.

¹³Behold, therefore I have smitten mine hand at thy dishonest gain which thou hast made, and at thy blood which hath been in the midst of thee.

¹³Ιδου, δια τουτο εκροτησα τας χειρας μου επι τη αισχροκερδεια σου, την οποιαν επραξας, και επι τω αιματι σου, το οποιον ητο εν μεσω σου.

¹⁴Can thine heart endure, or can thine hands be strong, in the days that I shall deal with thee? I the LORD have spoken it, and will do it.

¹⁴Θελει ανθεξει η καρδια σου; η θελουσιν εχει δυναμιν αι χειρες σου, εν ημεραις καθ' ας εγω θελω ενεργησει εναντιον σου; εγω ο Κυριος ελαλησα και θελω εκτελεσει.

¹⁵And I will scatter thee among the heathen, and disperse thee in the countries, and will consume thy filthiness out of thee.

¹⁵Και θελω σε διασκορπισει εν τοις εθνεσι και σε διασπειρει εις τους τοπους και θελω εξαλειψει απο σου την ακαθαρσιαν σου.

¹⁶And thou shalt take thine inheritance in thyself in the sight of the heathen, and thou shalt know that I am the LORD.

¹⁶Και θελεις βεβηλωθη εν σοι ενωπιον των εθνων, και θελεις γνωρισει οτι εγω ειμαι ο Κυριος.

¹⁷And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

¹⁷[] Και εγεινε λογος Κυριου προς εμε, λεγων,

¹⁸Son of man, the house of Israel is to me become dross: all they are brass, and tin, and iron, and lead, in the midst of the furnace; they are even the dross of silver.

¹⁸Υιε ανθρωπου, ο οικος Ισραηλ εγεινεν εις εμε σκωρια· παντες ειναι χαλκος και κασσιτερος και σιδηρος και μολυβδος εν τω μεσω του χωνευτηριου· ειναι σκωριαι αργυρου.

¹⁹Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye are all become dross, behold, therefore I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem.

¹⁹Δια τουτο ουτω λεγει Κυριος ο Θεος· Επειδη παντες σεις εγεινετε σκωριαι, ιδου, δια τουτο θελω σας συναξει εις το μεσον της Ιερουσαλημ·

²⁰As they gather silver, and brass, and iron, and lead, and tin, into the midst of the furnace, to blow the fire upon it, to melt it; so will I gather you in mine anger and in my fury, and I will leave you there, and melt you.

²⁰καθως συναγουσιν εις το μεσον του χωνευτηριου τον αργυρον και τον χαλκον και τον σιδηρον και τον μολυβδον και τον κασσιτερον, δια να φυσησωσι το πυρ επ' αυτα ωστε να διαλυσωσιν αυτα, ουτως εν τω θυμω μου και εν τη οργη μου θελω σας συναξει και θελω σας βαλει εκει και διαλυσει.

²¹Yea, I will gather you, and blow upon you in the fire of my wrath, and ye shall be melted in the midst therof.

²¹Θελω εξαπαντος σας συναξει, και εν τω πυρι της οργης μου θελω εμφυσησει εφ' υμας και θελετε διαλυθη εν τω μεσω αυτης.

²²As silver is melted in the midst of the furnace, so shall ye be melted in the midst thereof; and ye shall know that I the LORD have poured out my fury upon you.

²²Καθως ο αργυρος διαλυεται εν μεσω του χωνευτηριου, ουτω θελετε διαλυθη εν μεσω αυτης· και θελετε γνωρισει οτι εγω ο Κυριος εξεχεα την οργην μου εφ' υμας.

²³And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

²³[] Και εγεινε λογος Κυριου προς εμε, λεγων,

²⁴Son of man, say unto her, Thou art the land that is not cleansed, nor rained upon in the day of indignation.

²⁴Υιε ανθρωπου, ειπε προς αυτην· Συ εισαι η γη, ητις δεν εκαθαρισθη, και δεν εγεινε βροχη επ' αυτης εν τη ημερα της οργης.

²⁵There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof, like a roaring lion ravening the prey; they have devoured souls; they have taken the treasure and precious things; they have made her many widows in the midst thereof.

²⁵Εν μεσω αυτης ειναι συνωμοσια των προφητων αυτης· ως λεοντες ωρυομενοι, αρπαζοντες το θηραμα, κατατρωγουσι ψυχας· ελαβον θησαυρους και πολυτιμα πραγματα· επληθυναν τας χηρας αυτης εν τω μεσω αυτης.

²⁶Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they shewed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.

²⁶Οι ιερεις αυτης ηθετησαν τον νομον μου και εβεβηλωσαν τα αγια μου· μεταξυ αγιου και βεβηλου δεν εκαμον διαφοραν και μεταξυ ακαθαρτου και καθαρου δεν εκαμον διακρισιν, και εκρυπτον τους οφθαλμους αυτων απο των σαββατων μου, και εβεβηλουμην εν μεσω αυτων.

²⁷Her princes in the midst thereof are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, and to destroy souls, to get dishonest gain.

²⁷Οι αρχοντες αυτης ειναι εν μεσω αυτης ως λυκοι αρπαζοντες το θηραμα, δια να εκχεωσιν αιμα, δια να αφανιζωσι ψυχας, δια να αισχροκερδησωσιν αισχροκερδειαν.

²⁸And her prophets have daubed them with untempered morter, seeing vanity, and divining lies unto them, saying, Thus saith the Lord GOD, when the LORD hath not spoken.

²⁸Και οι προφηται αυτης περηλειφον αυτους με πηλον αμαλακτον, βλεποντες ορασεις ματαιας και μαντευοντες προς αυτους ψευδη, λεγοντες, Ουτω λεγει Κυριος ο Θεος· ενω ο Κυριος δεν ελαλησεν.

²⁹The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery, and have vexed the poor and needy: yea, they have oppressed the stranger wrongfully.

²⁹Ο λαος της γης μετεχειριζετο απατην και εκαμνεν αρπαγας και κατεδυναστευε τον πτωχον και τον ενδεη και τον ξενον ηπατα ανευ κρισεως.

³⁰And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.

³⁰Και εζητησα μεταξυ αυτων ανδρα, οστις να ανεγειρη το περιφραγμα και να σταθη εν τη χαλαστρα ενωπιον μου υπερ της γης, δια να μη εξολοθρευσω αυτην· και δεν ευρηκα.

³¹Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord GOD.

³¹Δια τουτο εξεχεα την οργην μου επ' αυτους· κατηναλωσα αυτους εν τω πυρι της οργης μου· τας οδους αυτων ανταπεδωκα επι τας κεφαλας αυτων, λεγει Κυριος ο Θεος.
