¹And it came to pass, when all the people were clean passed over Jordan, that the LORD spake unto Joshua, saying,

¹[] Και αφου πας ο λαος ετελειωσε διαβαινων τον Ιορδανην, ειπε Κυριος προς τον Ιησουν, λεγων,

²Take you twelve men out of the people, out of every tribe a man,

²Λαβετε εις εαυτους δωδεκα ανδρας εκ του λαου, ανα ενα ανδρα κατα φυλην,

³And command ye them, saying, Take you hence out of the midst of Jordan, out of the place where the priests' feet stood firm, twelve stones, and ye shall carry them over with you, and leave them in the lodging place, where ye shall lodge this night.

³και προσταξον αυτους, λεγων, Λαβετε εντευθεν εκ μεσου του Ιορδανου, εκ του τοπου οπου των ιερεων οι ποδες εσταθησαν στερεοι, δωδεκα λιθους· και θελετε μετακομισει αυτους μεθ' εαυτων, και θελετε θεσει αυτους εν τω τοπω οπου στρατοπεδευσητε ταυτην την νυκτα.

⁴Then Joshua called the twelve men, whom he had prepared of the children of Israel, out of every tribe a man:

⁴Τοτε ο Ιησους προσεκαλεσε τους δωδεκα ανδρας, τους οποιους ειχε διορισει εκ των υιων Ισραηλ, ανα ενα ανδρα κατα φυλην·

⁵And Joshua said unto them, Pass over before the ark of the LORD your God into the midst of Jordan, and take you up every man of you a stone upon his shoulder, according unto the number of the tribes of the children of Israel:

⁵και ειπε προς αυτους ο Ιησους, διαβητε εμπροσθεν της κιβωτου Κυριου του Θεου σας εν τω μεσω του Ιορδανου, και σηκωσατε εκαστος απο σας ενα λιθον επι τους ωμους αυτου, κατα τον αριθμον των φυλων των υιων Ισραηλ·

⁶That this may be a sign among you, that when your children ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean ye by these stones?

⁶δια να ηναι τουτο σημειον μεταξυ σας· ωστε οταν ερωτωσιν οι υιοι σας εις το μελλον λεγοντες, Τι δηλουσιν εις εσας οι λιθοι ουτοι;

⁷Then ye shall answer them, That the waters of Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the LORD; when it passed over Jordan, the waters of Jordan were cut off: and these stones shall be for a memorial unto the children of Israel for ever.

⁷τοτε θελετε αποκριθη προς αυτους, Οτι εκοπησαν τα υδατα του Ιορδανου απ' εμπροσθεν της κιβωτου της διαθηκης του Κυριου· οτε διεβαινε τον Ιορδανην, τα υδατα του Ιορδανου εκοπησαν· και οι λιθοι ουτοι θελουσιν εισθαι προς τους υιους Ισραηλ εις μνημοσυνον εως αιωνος.

⁸And the children of Israel did so as Joshua commanded, and took up twelve stones out of the midst of Jordan, as the LORD spake unto Joshua, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Israel, and carried them over with them unto the place where they lodged, and laid them down there.

⁸Και εκαμον ουτως οι υιοι Ισραηλ καθως προσεταξεν ο Ιησους, και ελαβον δωδεκα λιθους εκ μεσου του Ιορδανου, καθως ειπε Κυριος προς τον Ιησουν, κατα τον αριθμον των φυλων των υιων Ισραηλ, και μετεκομισαν αυτους μεθ' εαυτων εις τον τοπον οπου κατελυσαν και εθεσαν αυτους εκει.

⁹And Joshua set up twelve stones in the midst of Jordan, in the place where the feet of the priests which bare the ark of the covenant stood: and they are there unto this day.

⁹Και αλλους δωδεκα λιθους εστησεν ο Ιησους εν τω μεσω του Ιορδανου, εν τω τοπω οπου εσταθησαν οι ποδες των ιερεων, των βασταζοντων την κιβωτον της διαθηκης· και εκει ειναι μεχρι της σημερον.

¹⁰For the priests which bare the ark stood in the midst of Jordan, until everything was finished that the LORD commanded Joshua to speak unto the people, according to all that Moses commanded Joshua: and the people hasted and passed over.

¹⁰[] Οι δε ιερεις οι βασταζοντες την κιβωτον ισταντο εν τω μεσω του Ιορδανου, εωσου ετελεσθησαν παντα οσα ο Κυριος προσεταξεν εις τον Ιησουν να ειπη προς τον λαον, κατα παντα οσα ο Μωυσης προσεταξεν εις τον Ιησουν· και εσπευσεν ο λαος και διεβη.

¹¹And it came to pass, when all the people were clean passed over, that the ark of the LORD passed over, and the priests, in the presence of the people.

¹¹Και αφου πας ο λαος ετελειωσε διαβαινων, διεβη και η κιβωτος του Κυριου και οι ιερεις εμπροσθεν του λαου.

¹²And the children of Reuben, and the children of Gad, and half the tribe of Manasseh, passed over armed before the children of Israel, as Moses spake unto them:

¹²Και οι υιοι Ρουβην και οι υιοι Γαδ και το ημισυ της φυλης Μανασση διεβησαν ωπλισμενοι εμπροσθεν των υιων Ισραηλ, καθως ειπε προς αυτους ο Μωυσης.

¹³About forty thousand prepared for war passed over before the LORD unto battle, to the plains of Jericho.

¹³Εως τεσσαρακοντα χιλιαδες ενοπλοι διεβησαν εμπροσθεν του Κυριου εις πολεμον, προς τας πεδιαδας της Ιεριχω.

¹⁴On that day the LORD magnified Joshua in the sight of all Israel; and they feared him, as they feared Moses, all the days of his life.

¹⁴Εν εκεινη τη ημερα εμεγαλυνεν ο Κυριος τον Ιησουν ενωπιον παντος του Ισραηλ, και εφοβουντο αυτον, καθως εφοβουντο τον Μωυσην, πασας τας ημερας της ζωης αυτου.

¹⁵And the LORD spake unto Joshua, saying,

¹⁵Και ειπε Κυριος προς τον Ιησουν λεγων,

¹⁶Command the priests that bear the ark of the testimony, that they come up out of Jordan.

¹⁶Προσταξον τους ιερεις τους βασταζοντας την κιβωτον του μαρτυριου, να αναβωσιν εκ του Ιορδανου.

¹⁷Joshua therefore commanded the priests, saying, Come ye up out of Jordan.

¹⁷Και προσεταξεν ο Ιησους τους ιερεις λεγων, Αναβητε εκ του Ιορδανου.

¹⁸And it came to pass, when the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD were come up out of the midst of Jordan, and the soles of the priests' feet were lifted up unto the dry land, that the waters of Jordan returned unto their place, and flowed over all his banks, as they did before.

¹⁸Και αφου οι ιερεις οι βασταζοντες την κιβωτον της διαθηκης του Κυριου ανεβησαν εκ μεσου του Ιορδανου, και τα ιχνη των ποδων των ιερεων επατησαν επι της ξηρας, τα υδατα του Ιορδανου επιστρεψαντα εις τον τοπον αυτων επλημμυρησαν πασας τας οχθας αυτου, καθως προτερον.

¹⁹And the people came up out of Jordan on the tenth day of the first month, and encamped in Gilgal, in the east border of Jericho.

¹⁹Και ανεβη ο λαος εκ του Ιορδανου την δεκατην του πρωτου μηνος και εστρατοπεδευσαν εν Γαλγαλοις προς το ανατολικον μερος της Ιεριχω.

²⁰And those twelve stones, which they took out of Jordan, did Joshua pitch in Gilgal.

²⁰[] Και τους δωδεκα εκεινους λιθους, τους οποιους ελαβον εκ του Ιορδανου, εστησεν ο Ιησους εν Γαλγαλοις.

²¹And he spake unto the children of Israel, saying, When your children shall ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean these stones?

²¹Και ειπε προς τους υιους Ισραηλ, λεγων, Οταν εις το μελλον ερωτωσιν οι υιοι σας τους πατερας αυτων, λεγοντες, Τι δηλουσιν οι λιθοι ουτοι;

²²Then ye shall let your children know, saying, Israel came over this Jordan on dry land.

²²τοτε θελετε αναγγειλει προς τους υιους σας, λεγοντες, Δια ξηρας διεβη ο Ισραηλ τον Ιορδανην τουτον·

²³For the LORD your God dried up the waters of Jordan from before you, until ye were passed over, as the LORD your God did to the Red sea, which he dried up from before us, until we were gone over:

²³διοτι απεξηρανε Κυριος ο Θεος σας τα υδατα του Ιορδανου εμπροσθεν σας, εωσου διεβητε, καθως εκαμε Κυριος ο Θεος σας εις την Ερυθραν θαλασσαν, την οποιαν απεξηρανεν εμπροσθεν ημων, εωσου διεβημεν·

²⁴That all the people of the earth might know the hand of the LORD, that it is mighty: that ye might fear the LORD your God for ever.

²⁴δια να γνωρισωσι παντες οι λαοι της γης την χειρα του Κυριου, οτι ειναι κραταια· δια να φοβησθε Κυριον τον Θεον σας παντοτε.
