1Now Jericho was straitly shut up because of the children of Israel: none went out, and none came in.
1[] Η δε Ιεριχω ητο συγκεκλεισμενη και ωχυρωμενη εξ αιτιας των υιων Ισραηλ· ουδεις εξηρχετο και ουδεις εισηρχετο.
2And the LORD said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valor.
2Και ειπε Κυριος προς τον Ιησουν, Ιδου, παρεδωκα εις την χειρα σου την Ιεριχω και τον βασιλεα αυτης και τους δυνατους εν ισχυι.
3And ye shall compass the city, all ye men of war, and go round about the city once. Thus shalt thou do six days.
3Και θελετε περιελθει την πολιν, παντες οι ανδρες του πολεμου, κυκλω της πολεως απαξ· ουτω θελεις καμνει εξ ημερας.
4And seven priests shall bear before the ark seven trumpets of rams' horns: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets.
4Και επτα ιερεις θελουσι βασταζει εμπροσθεν της κιβωτου επτα σαλπιγγας κερατινας· και την εβδομην ημεραν θελετε περιελθει την πολιν επτακις· και οι ιερεις θελουσι σαλπιζει με τας σαλπιγγας.
5And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram's horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him.
5Και οταν σαλπισωσι με την κερατινην επεκτεινοντες, καθως ακουσητε τον ηχον της σαλπιγγος, πας ο λαος θελει αλαλαξει μεγαν αλαλαγμον, και θελει καταπεσει το τειχος της πολεως υφ' εαυτο, και ο λαος θελει αναβη, εκαστος κατ' ενωπιον αυτου.
6And Joshua the son of Nun called the priests, and said unto them, Take up the ark of the covenant, and let seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark of the LORD.
6[] Και εκαλεσεν Ιησους ο υιος του Ναυη τους ιερεις και ειπε προς αυτους, Λαβετε την κιβωτον της διαθηκης, και επτα ιερεις ας βασταζωσιν επτα σαλπιγγας κερατινας εμπροσθεν της κιβωτου του Κυριου.
7And he said unto the people, Pass on, and compass the city, and let him that is armed pass on before the ark of the LORD.
7Και ειπε προς τον λαον, Περασατε και περιελθετε την πολιν, και οι ωπλισμενοι ας περασωσιν εμπροσθεν της κιβωτου του Κυριου.
8And it came to pass, when Joshua had spoken unto the people, that the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams' horns passed on before the LORD, and blew with the trumpets: and the ark of the covenant of the LORD followed them.
8Και αφου ο Ιησους ελαλησε προς τον λαον, οι επτα ιερεις βασταζοντες τας επτα κερατινας σαλπιγγας εμπροσθεν του Κυριου επερασαν και εσαλπιζον με τας σαλπιγγας, και η κιβωτος της διαθηκης του Κυριου ηκολουθει αυτους.
9And the armed men went before the priests that blew with the trumpets, and the rearward came after the ark, the priests going on, and blowing with the trumpets.
9Και οι ωπλισμενοι προεπορευοντο των ιερεων, των σαλπιζοντων με τας σαλπιγγας, και η οπισθοφυλακη ηκολουθει οπισθεν της κιβωτου, ενω οι ιερεις προχωρουντες εσαλπιζον με τας σαλπιγγας.
10And Joshua had commanded the people, saying, Ye shall not shout, nor make any noise with your voice, neither shall any word proceed out of your mouth, until the day I bid you shout; then shall ye shout.
10Και προσεταξεν ο Ιησους τον λαον, λεγων, Δεν θελετε αλαλαξει, ουδε θελει ακουσθη η φωνη σας, ουδε θελει εξελθει λογος εκ του στοματος σας, μεχρι της ημερας καθ' ην θελω σας ειπει να αλαλαξητε· τοτε θελετε αλαλαξει.
11So the ark of the LORD compassed the city, going about it once: and they came into the camp, and lodged in the camp.
11Και η κιβωτος του Κυριου περιηλθε την πολιν κυκλω απαξ· και ηλθον εις το στρατοπεδον και διενυκτερευσαν εν τω στρατοπεδω.
12And Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up the ark of the LORD.
12Και εξηγερθη ο Ιησους το πρωι, και οι ιερεις εσηκωσαν την κιβωτον του Κυριου·
13And seven priests bearing seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark of the LORD went on continually, and blew with the trumpets: and the armed men went before them; but the rearward came after the ark of the LORD, the priests going on, and blowing with the trumpets.
13και οι επτα ιερεις, βασταζοντες τας επτα κερατινας σαλπιγγας, προεπορευοντο της κιβωτου του Κυριου, πορευομενοι και σαλπιζοντες με τας σαλπιγγας· και εμπροσθεν αυτων επορευοντο οι ωπλισμενοι· η δε οπισθοφυλακη ηκολουθει οπισθεν της κιβωτου του Κυριου, ενω οι ιερεις προχωρουντες εσαλπιζον με τας σαλπιγγας.
14And the second day they compassed the city once, and returned into the camp: so they did six days.
14Και την δευτεραν ημεραν περιηλθον την πολιν απαξ, και επεστρεψαν εις το στρατοπεδον· ουτως εκαμνον εξ ημερας.
15And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they rose early about the dawning of the day, and compassed the city after the same manner seven times: only on that day they compassed the city seven times.
15Και την εβδομην ημεραν εξηγερθησαν περι τα χαραγματα και περιηλθον την πολιν επτακις κατα τον αυτον τροπον· μονον εν ταυτη τη ημερα περιηλθον την πολιν επτακις.
16And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew with the trumpets, Joshua said unto the people, Shout; for the LORD hath given you the city.
16Και εις την εβδομην φοραν, ενω εσαλπιζον οι ιερεις με τας σαλπιγγας, ειπεν ο Ιησους προς τον λαον, Αλαλαξατε· διοτι ο Κυριος παρεδωκεν εις εσας την πολιν·
17And the city shall be accursed, even it, and all that are therein, to the LORD: only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all that are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent.
17[] και η πολις θελει εισθαι αναθεμα εις τον Κυριον, αυτη και παντα τα εν αυτη· εις μονην την Ρααβ την πορνην θελει φυλαχθη η ζωη, εις αυτην και εις παντας τους οντας εν τη οικια μετ' αυτης· διοτι εκρυψε τους κατασκοπους, τους οποιους απεστειλαμεν·
18And ye, in any wise keep yourselves from the accursed thing, lest ye make yourselves accursed, when ye take of the accursed thing, and make the camp of Israel a curse, and trouble it.
18σεις ομως φυλαχθητε απο του αναθεματος, δια να μη γεινητε αναθεμα, λαμβανοντες απο του αναθεματος, και καταστησητε το στρατοπεδον του Ισραηλ αναθεμα και ταραξητε αυτο·
19But all the silver, and gold, and vessels of brass and iron, are consecrated unto the LORD: they shall come into the treasury of the LORD.
19απαν δε το αργυριον και το χρυσιον και τα σκευη τα χαλκινα και τα σιδηρα ειναι αφιερωμενα εις τον Κυριον· εις το θησαυροφυλακιον του Κυριου θελουσιν εισαχθη.
20So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.
20Και ηλαλαξεν ο λαος, οτε εσαλπισαν με τας σαλπιγγας· και ως ηκουσεν ο λαος την φωνην των σαλπιγγων, τοτε ηλαλαξεν ο λαος αλαλαγμον μεγαν, και κατεπεσε το τειχος υφ' εαυτο, και ανεβη ο λαος εις την πολιν, εκαστος κατ' ενωπιον αυτου, και εκυριευσαν την πολιν.
21And they utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, young and old, and ox, and sheep, and ass, with the edge of the sword.
21Και εξωλοθρευσαν εν στοματι μαχαιρας παντας τους εν τη πολει, ανδρας και γυναικας, νεους και γεροντας, και βοας και προβατα και ονους.
22But Joshua had said unto the two men that had spied out the country, Go into the harlot's house, and bring out thence the woman, and all that she hath, as ye sware unto her.
22Ειπε δε ο Ιησους προς τους δυο ανδρας, τους κατασκοπευσαντας την γην, Εισελθετε εις την οικιαν της πορνης και εξαγαγετε εκειθεν την γυναικα, και παντα οσα εχει, καθως ωμοσατε προς αυτην.
23And the young men that were spies went in, and brought out Rahab, and her father, and her mother, and her brethren, and all that she had; and they brought out all her kindred, and left them without the camp of Israel.
23Και εισηλθον οι νεοι οι κατασκοποι και εξηγαγον την Ρααβ και τον πατερα αυτης και την μητερα αυτης και τους αδελφους αυτης, και παντα οσα ειχε· και εξηγαγον πασαν την συγγενειαν αυτης και εφυλαξαν αυτους εξω του στρατοπεδου του Ισραηλ.
24And they burnt the city with fire, and all that was therein: only the silver, and the gold, and the vessels of brass and of iron, they put into the treasury of the house of the LORD.
24Και κατεκαυσαν την πολιν εν πυρι και παντα τα εν αυτη· μονον το αργυριον και το χρυσιον και τα σκευη τα χαλκινα και τα σιδηρα εδωκαν εις το θησαυροφυλακιον του οικου του Κυριου.
25And Joshua saved Rahab the harlot alive, and her father's household, and all that she had; and she dwelleth in Israel even unto this day; because she hid the messengers, which Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.
25Και εις την Ρααβ την πορνην και εις την οικογενειαν του πατρος αυτης και εις παντα οσα ειχε, ο Ιησους εφυλαξε την ζωην· και κατοικει εν τω μεσω του Ισραηλ εως της σημερον· διοτι εκρυψε τους κατασκοπους, τους οποιους απεστειλεν ο Ιησους δια να κατασκοπευσωσι την Ιεριχω.
26And Joshua adjured them at that time, saying, Cursed be the man before the LORD, that riseth up and buildeth this city Jericho: he shall lay the foundation thereof in his firstborn, and in his youngest son shall he set up the gates of it.
26Και ωμοσεν ο Ιησους κατ' εκεινον τον καιρον, λεγων, Κατηραμενος ενωπιον του Κυριου ο ανθρωπος, οστις αναστηση και κτιση την πολιν ταυτην την Ιεριχω· με τον θανατον του πρωτοτοκου υιου αυτου θελει βαλει τα θεμελια αυτης, και με τον θανατον του νεωτατου υιου αυτου θελει στησει τας πυλας αυτης.
27So the LORD was with Joshua; and his fame was noised throughout all the country.
27Και ο Κυριος ητο μετα του Ιησου, και το ονομα αυτου διεφημισθη καθ' ολην την γην.
