1I AM the man that hath seen affliction by the rod of his wrath.
1[] Εγω ειμαι ο ανθρωπος, οστις ειδον θλιψιν απο της ραβδου του θυμου αυτου.
2He hath led me, and brought me into darkness, but not into light.
2Με ωδηγησε και εφερεν εις σκοτος και ουχι εις φως.
3Surely against me is he turned; he turneth his hand against me all the day.
3Ναι, κατ' εμου εστραφη· κατ' εμου εστρεψε την χειρα αυτου ολην την ημεραν.
4My flesh and my skin hath he made old; he hath broken my bones.
4Επαλαιωσε την σαρκα μου και το δερμα μου· συνετριψε τα οστα μου.
5He hath builded against me, and compassed me with gall and travail.
5Ωικοδομησε κατ' εμου και με περιεκυκλωσε χολην και μοχθον.
6He hath set me in dark places, as they that be dead of old.
6Με εκαθισεν εν σκοτεινοις ως νεκρους αιωνιους.
7He hath hedged me about, that I cannot get out: he hath made my chain heavy.
7Με περιεφραξε, δια να μη εξελθω· εβαρυνε τας αλυσεις μου.
8Also when I cry and shout, he shutteth out my prayer.
8Ετι και οταν κραζω και αναβοω, αποκλειει την προσευχην μου.
9He hath inclosed my ways with hewn stone, he hath made my paths crooked.
9Περιεφραξε με πελεκητους λιθους τας οδους μου, εστρεβλωσε τας τριβους μου.
10He was unto me as a bear lying in wait, and as a lion in secret places.
10Εγεινεν εις εμε αρκτος ενεδρευουσα, λεων εν αποκρυφοις.
11He hath turned aside my ways, and pulled me in pieces: he hath made me desolate.
11Παρετρεψε τας οδους μου και με κατεσπαραξε, με κατεστηαεν ηφανισμενην.
12He hath bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.
12Ενετεινε το τοξον αυτου και με εστησεν ως σκοπον εις βελος.
13He hath caused the arrows of his quiver to enter into my reins.
13Ενεπηξεν εις τα νεφρα μου τα βελη της φαρετρας αυτου.
14I was a derision to all my people; and their song all the day.
14Εγεινα γελως εις παντα τον λαον μου, ασμα αυτων ολην την ημεραν.
15He hath filled me with bitterness, he hath made me drunken with wormwood.
15Με εχορτασε πικριαν· με εμεθυσεν αψινθιον.
16He hath also broken my teeth with gravel stones, he hath covered me with ashes.
16Και συνετριψε τους οδοντας μου με χαλικας· με εκαλυψε με σποδον.
17And thou hast removed my soul far off from peace: I forgat prosperity.
17Και απεσπρωξα, απο ειρηνης την ψυχην μου· ελησμονησα το αγαθον.
18And I said, My strength and my hope is perished from the LORD:
18Και ειπα, Απωλεσθη η δυναμις μου και η ελπις μου υπο του Κυριου.
19Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.
19Ενθυμηθητι την θλιψιν μου και την εξωσιν μου, το αψινθιον και την χολην.
20My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me.
20Η ψυχη μου ενθυμειται ταυτα ακαταπαυστως και ειναι τεταπεινωμενη εν εμοι.
21This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.
21[] Τουτο ανακαλω εις την καρδιαν μου, οθεν εχω ελπιδα·
22It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
22Ελεος του Κυριου ειναι, οτι δεν συνετελεσθημεν, επειδη δεν εξελιπον οι οικτιρμοι αυτου.
23They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
23Ανανεονονται εν ταις πρωιαις· μεγαλη ειναι η πιστοτης σου.
24The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
24Ο Κυριος ειναι η μερις μου, ειπεν η ψυχη μου· δια τουτο θελω ελπιζει επ' αυτον.
25The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
25Αγαθος ο Κυριος εις τους προσμενοντας αυτον, εις την ψυχην την εκζητουσαν αυτον.
26It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.
26Καλον ειναι και να ελπιζη τις και να εφησυχαζη εις την σωτηριαν του Κυριου.
27It is good for a man that he bear the yoke of his youth.
27Καλον εις τον ανθρωπον να βασταζη ζυγον εν τη νεοτητι αυτου.
28He sitteth alone and keepeth silence, because he hath borne it upon him.
28Θελει καθησθαι κατα μονας και σιωπα, επειδη ο Θεος επεβαλε φορτιον επ' αυτον.
29He putteth his mouth in the dust; if so be there may be hope.
29Θελει βαλει το στομα αυτου εις το χωμα, ισως ηναι ελπις.
30He giveth his cheek to him that smiteth him: he is filled full with reproach.
30Θελει δωσει την σιαγονα εις τον ραπιζοντα αυτον· θελει χορτασθη απο ονειδισμου.
31For the LORD will not cast off for ever:
31Διοτι ο Κυριος δεν απορριπτει εις τον αιωνα·
32But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.
32Αλλ' εαν και θλιψη, θελει ομως και οικτειρησει κατα το πληθος του ελεους αυτου.
33For he doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.
33Διοτι δεν θλιβει εκ καρδιας αυτου ουδε καταθλιβει τους υιους των ανθρωπων.
34To crush under his feet all the prisoners of the earth.
34Το να καταπατη τις υπο τους ποδας αυτου παντας τους δεσμιους της γης.
35To turn aside the right of a man before the face of the most High,
35Το να διαστρεφη κρισιν ανθρωπου κατεναντι του προσωπου του Υψιστου·
36To subvert a man in his cause, the LORD approveth not.
36Το να αδικη ανθρωπον εν τη δικη αυτου· ο Κυριος δεν βλεπει ταυτα.
37Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not?
37[] Τις λεγει τι και γινεται, χωρις να προσταξη αυτο ο Κυριος;
38Out of the mouth of the most High proceedeth not evil and good?
38Εκ του στοματος του Υψιστου δεν εξερχονται τα κακα και τα αγαθα;
39Wherefore doth a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?
39Δια τι ηθελε γογγυσει ανθρωπος ζων, ανθρωπος, δια την ποινην της αμαρτιας αυτου;
40Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD.
40Ας ερευνησωμεν τας οδους ημων και ας εξετασωμεν και ας επιστρεψωμεν εις τον Κυριον.
41Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens.
41Ας υψωσωμεν τας καρδιας ημων και τας χειρας προς τον Θεον τον εν τοις ουρανοις, λεγοντες,
42We have transgressed and have rebelled: thou hast not pardoned.
42[] Ημαρτησαμεν και απεστατησαμεν· συ δεν μας συνεχωρησας.
43Thou hast covered with anger, and persecuted us: thou hast slain, thou hast not pitied.
43Περιεκαλυψας με θυμον και κατεδιωξας ημας· εφονευσας, δεν εφεισθης.
44Thou hast covered thyself with a cloud, that our prayer should not pass through.
44Εκαλυψας σεαυτον με νεφος, δια να μη διαβαινη η προσευχη ημων.
45Thou hast made us as the offscouring and refuse in the midst of the people.
45Μας εκαμες σκυβαλον και βδελυγμα εν μεσω των λαων.
46All our enemies have opened their mouths against us.
46Παντες οι εχθροι ημων ηνοιξαν το στομα αυτων εφ' ημας.
47Fear and a snare is come upon us, desolation and destruction.
47Φοβος και λακκος ηλθον εφ' ημας, ερημωσις και συντριμμος.
48Mine eye runneth down with rivers of water for the destruction of the daughter of my people.
48Ρυακας υδατων καταβιβαζει ο οφθαλμος μου δια τον συντριμμον της θυγατρος του λαου μου.
49Mine eye trickleth down, and ceaseth not, without any intermission.
49Ο οφθαλμος μου σταλαζει και δεν σιωπα, διοτι δεν εχει ανεσιν,
50Till the LORD look down, and behold from heaven.
50Εωσου ο Κυριος διακυψη και ιδη εξ ουρανου.
51Mine eye affecteth mine heart because of all the daughters of my city.
51Ο οφθαλμος μου καταθλιβει την ψυχην μου, εκ πασων των θυγατερων της πολεως μου.
52Mine enemies chased me sore, like a bird, without cause.
52Οι εχθρευομενοι με αναιτιως με εκυνηγησαν ακαταπαυστως ως στρουθιον.
53They have cut off my life in the dungeon, and cast a stone upon me.
53Εκοψαν την ζωην μου εν τω λακκω και ερριψαν λιθον επ' εμε.
54Waters flowed over mine head; then I said, I am cut off.
54Τα υδατα επλημμυρησαν υπερανω της κεφαλης μου· ειπα, Απερριφθην.
55I called upon thy name, O LORD, out of the low dungeon.
55[] Επεκαλεσθην το ονομα σου, Κυριε, εκ λακκου κατωτατου.
56Thou hast heard my voice: hide not thine ear at my breathing, at my cry.
56Ηκουσας την φωνην μου· μη κλεισης το ωτιον σου εις τον στεναγμον μου, εις την κραυγην μου.
57Thou drewest near in the day that I called upon thee: thou saidst, Fear not.
57Επλησιασας καθ' ην ημεραν σε επεκαλεσθην· ειπας, Μη φοβου.
58O LORD, thou hast pleaded the causes of my soul; thou hast redeemed my life.
58Εδικασας, Κυριε, την δικην της ψυχης μου· ελυτρωσας την ζωην μου.
59O LORD, thou hast seen my wrong: judge thou my cause.
59Ειδες, Κυριε, το προς εμε αδικον· κρινον την κρισιν μου.
60Thou hast seen all their vengeance and all their imaginations against me.
60Ειδες πασας τας εκδικησεις αυτων, παντας τους διαλογισμους αυτων κατ' εμου.
61Thou hast heard their reproach, O LORD, and all their imaginations against me;
61Ηκουσας, Κυριε, τον ονειδισμον αυτων, παντας τους διαλογισμους αυτων κατ' εμου·
62The lips of those that rose up against me, and their device against me all the day.
62Τους λογους των επανισταμενων επ' εμε και τας μελετας αυτων κατ' εμου ολην την ημεραν.
63Behold their sitting down, and their rising up; I am their musick.
63Ιδε, οταν καθηνται και οταν σηκονωνται· εγω ειμαι το ασμα αυτων.
64Render unto them a recompence, O LORD, according to the work of their hands.
64Καμε, Κυριε, εις αυτους ανταποδοσιν κατα τα εργα των χειρων αυτων.
65Give them sorrow of heart, thy curse unto them.
65Δος εις αυτους πωρωσιν καρδιας, την καταραν· σου επ' αυτους.
66Persecute and destroy them in anger from under the heavens of the LORD.
66Καταδιωξον εν οργη και αφανισον αυτους υποκατωθεν των ουρανων του Κυριου.
