¹The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting desired him that he would shew them a sign from heaven.

¹[] Και προσελθοντες οι Φαρισαιοι και οι Σαδδουκαιοι, πειραζοντες αυτον εζητησαν να δειξη εις αυτους σημειον εκ του ουρανου.

²He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red.

²Ο δε αποκριθεις ειπε προς αυτους· Οταν γεινη εσπερα, λεγετε· Καλωσυνη· διοτι κοκκινιζει ο ουρανος·

³And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowering. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?

³και το πρωι· Σημερον χειμων· διοτι κοκκινιζει σκυθρωπαζων ο ουρανος. Υποκριται, το μεν προσωπον του ουρανου εξευρετε να διακρινητε, τα δε σημεια των καιρων δεν δυνασθε;

⁴A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed.

⁴Γενεα πονηρα και μοιχαλις σημειον ζητει, και σημειον δεν θελει δοθη εις αυτην ειμη το σημειον Ιωνα του προφητου. Και αφησας αυτους ανεχωρησε.

⁵And when his disciples were come to the other side, they had forgotten to take bread.

⁵[] Και ελθοντες οι μαθηται αυτου εις το περαν, ελησμονησαν να λαβωσιν αρτους.

⁶Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.

⁶Ο δε Ιησους ειπε προς αυτους· Βλεπετε και προσεχετε απο της ζυμης των Φαρισαιων και Σαδδουκαιων.

⁷And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have taken no bread.

⁷Και εκεινοι διελογιζοντο εν εαυτοις, λεγοντες οτι αρτους δεν ελαβομεν.

⁸Which when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread?

⁸Νοησας δε ο Ιησους, ειπε προς αυτους· Τι διαλογιζεσθε εν εαυτοις, ολιγοπιστοι, οτι αρτους δεν ελαβετε;

⁹Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?

⁹ετι δεν καταλαμβανετε, ουδε ενθυμεισθε τους πεντε αρτους των πεντακισχιλιων και ποσους κοφινους ελαβετε;

¹⁰Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?

¹⁰ουδε τους επτα αρτους των τετρακισχιλιων και ποσας σπυριδας ελαβετε;

¹¹How is it that ye do not understand that I spake it not to you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees?

¹¹πως δεν καταλαμβανετε οτι περι αρτου δεν σας ειπον να προσεχητε απο της ζυμης των Φαρισαιων και Σαδδουκαιων;

¹²Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.

¹²Τοτε ενοησαν, οτι δεν ειπε να προσεχωσιν απο της ζυμης του αρτου, αλλ' απο της διδαχης των Φαρισαιων και Σαδδουκαιων.

¹³When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?

¹³[] Οτε δε ηλθεν ο Ιησους εις τα μερη της Καισαρειας της Φιλιππου, ηρωτα τους μαθητας αυτου, λεγων· Τινα με λεγουσιν οι ανθρωποι οτι ειμαι εγω ο Υιος του ανθρωπου;

¹⁴And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.

¹⁴Οι δε ειπον· Αλλοι μεν Ιωαννην τον Βαπτιστην, αλλοι δε Ηλιαν και αλλοι Ιερεμιαν η ενα των προφητων.

¹⁵He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?

¹⁵Λεγει προς αυτους· Αλλα σεις τινα με λεγετε οτι ειμαι;

¹⁶And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

¹⁶Και αποκριθεις ο Σιμων Πετρος ειπε· Συ εισαι ο Χριστος ο Υιος του Θεου του ζωντος.

¹⁷And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

¹⁷Και αποκριθεις ο Ιησους ειπε προς αυτον· Μακαριος εισαι, Σιμων, υιε του Ιωνα, διοτι σαρξ και αιμα δεν σοι απεκαλυψε τουτο, αλλ' ο Πατηρ μου ο εν τοις ουρανοις.

¹⁸And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

¹⁸Και εγω δε σοι λεγω οτι συ εισαι Πετρος, και επι ταυτης της πετρας θελω οικοδομησει την εκκλησιαν μου, και πυλαι αδου δεν θελουσιν ισχυσει κατ' αυτης.

¹⁹And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

¹⁹Και θελω σοι δωσει τα κλειδια της βασιλειας των ουρανων, και ο, τι εαν δεσης επι της γης, θελει εισθαι δεδεμενον εν τοις ουρανοις, και ο, τι εαν λυσης επι της γης, θελει εισθαι λελυμενον εν τοις ουρανοις.

²⁰Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ.

²⁰Τοτε παρηγγειλεν εις τους μαθητας αυτου να μη ειπωσι προς μηδενα οτι αυτος ειναι Ιησους ο Χριστος.

²¹From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.

²¹[] Απο τοτε ηρχισεν ο Ιησους να δεικνυη εις τους μαθητας αυτου οτι πρεπει να υπαγη εις Ιεροσολυμα και να παθη πολλα απο των πρεσβυτερων και αρχιερεων και γραμματεων, και να θανατωθη, και την τριτην ημεραν να αναστηθη.

²²Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee.

²²Και παραλαβων αυτον ο Πετρος κατ' ιδιαν ηρχισε να επιτιμα αυτον, λεγων· Γενου ιλεως εις σεαυτον, Κυριε· δεν θελει γεινει τουτο εις σε.

²³But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.

²³Εκεινος δε στραφεις ειπε προς τον Πετρον· Υπαγε οπισω μου, Σατανα· σκανδαλον μου εισαι· διοτι δεν φρονεις τα του Θεου, αλλα τα των ανθρωπων.

²⁴Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

²⁴[] Τοτε ο Ιησους ειπε προς τους μαθητας αυτου· Εαν τις θελη να ελθη οπισω μου, ας απαρνηθη εαυτον και ας σηκωση τον σταυρον αυτου και ας με ακολουθη.

²⁵For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

²⁵Διοτι οστις θελει να σωση την ζωην αυτου, θελει απολεσει αυτην· και οστις απολεση την ζωην αυτου ενεκεν εμου, θελει ευρει αυτην.

²⁶For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

²⁶Επειδη τι ωφελειται ανθρωπος εαν τον κοσμον ολον κερδηση, την δε ψυχην αυτου ζημιωθη; η τι θελει δωσει ανθρωπος εις ανταλλαγην της ψυχης αυτου;

²⁷For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.

²⁷Διοτι μελλει ο Υιος του ανθρωπου να ελθη εν τη δοξη του Πατρος αυτου μετα των αγγελων αυτου, και τοτε θελει αποδωσει εις εκαστον κατα την πραξιν αυτου.

²⁸Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

²⁸Αληθως σας λεγω, ειναι τινες των εδω ισταμενων, οιτινες δεν θελουσι γευθη θανατον, εωσου ιδωσι τον Υιον του ανθρωπου ερχομενον εν τη βασιλεια αυτου.
