¹Hear ye now what the LORD saith; Arise, contend thou before the mountains, and let the hills hear thy voice.

¹[] Ακουσατε τωρα ο, τι λεγει ο Κυριος Σηκωθητι, διαδικασθητι εμπροσθεν των ορεων, και ας ακουσωσιν οι βουνοι την φωνην σου.

²Hear ye, O mountains, the LORD's controversy, and ye strong foundations of the earth: for the LORD hath a controversy with his people, and he will plead with Israel.

²Ακουσατε, ορη, την κρισιν του Κυριου, και σεις, τα ισχυρα θεμελια της γης διοτι ο Κυριος εχει κρισιν μετα του λαου αυτου και θελει διαδικασθη μετα του Ισραηλ.

³O my people, what have I done unto thee? and wherein have I wearied thee? testify against me.

³Λαε μου, τι σοι εκαμα; και εις τι σε παρηνωχλησα; μαρτυρησον κατ' εμου.

⁴For I brought thee up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee out of the house of servants; and I sent before thee Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.

⁴Διοτι σε ανεβιβασα εκ γης Αιγυπτου και σε ελυτρωσα εξ οικου δουλειας και εξαπεστειλα εμπροσθεν σου τον Μωυσην, τον Ααρων και την Μαριαμ.

⁵O my people, remember now what Balak king of Moab consulted, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him from Shittim unto Gilgal; that ye may know the righteousness of the LORD.

⁵Λαε μου, ενθυμηθητι τωρα τι εβουλευθη Βαλακ ο βασιλευς του Μωαβ και τι απεκριθη προς αυτον Βαλααμ ο του Βεωρ απο Σιττειμ εως Γαλγαλων, δια να γνωρισητε την δικαιοσυνην του Κυριου.

⁶Wherewith shall I come before the LORD, and bow myself before the high God? shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old?

⁶[] Με τι θελω ελθει ενωπιον του Κυριου, να προσκυνησω ενωπιον του υψιστου Θεου; θελω ελθει ενωπιον αυτου με ολοκαυτωματα, με μοσχους ενιαυσιους;

⁷Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?

⁷Θελει ευαρεστηθη ο Κυριος εις χιλιαδας κριων η εις μυριαδας ποταμων ελαιου; θελω δωσει τον πρωτοτοκον μου δια την παραβασιν μου, τον καρπον της κοιλιας μου δια την αμαρτιαν της ψυχης μου;

⁸He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

⁸Αυτος σοι εδειξεν, ανθρωπε, τι το καλον και τι ζητει ο Κυριος παρα σου, ειμη να πραττης το δικαιον και να αγαπας ελεος και να περιπατης ταπεινως μετα του Θεου σου;

⁹The LORD's voice crieth unto the city, and the man of wisdom shall see thy name: hear ye the rod, and who hath appointed it.

⁹[] Η φωνη του Κυριου κραζει προς την πολιν, και η σοφια θελει φοβεισθαι το ονομα σου· ακουσατε την ραβδον και τις διωρισεν αυτην.

¹⁰Are there yet the treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and the scant measure that is abominable?

¹⁰Υπαρχουσιν ετι οι θησαυροι της ασεβειας εν τω οικω του ασεβους και το ελλιπες μετρον το βδελυκτον;

¹¹Shall I count them pure with the wicked balances, and with the bag of deceitful weights?

¹¹να δικαιωσω αυτους με τας ασεβεις πλαστιγγας και με το σακκιον των δολιων ζυγιων;

¹²For the rich men thereof are full of violence, and the inhabitants thereof have spoken lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their mouth.

¹²Διοτι οι πλουσιοι αυτης ειναι πληρεις αδικιας, και οι κατοικοι αυτης ελαλησαν ψευδη, και η γλωσσα αυτων ειναι απατηλη εν τω στοματι αυτων.

¹³Therefore also will I make thee sick in smiting thee, in making thee desolate because of thy sins.

¹³Και εγω λοιπον παταξας θελω σε αδυνατισει, θελω σε ερημωσει εξ αιτιας των αμαρτιων σου.

¹⁴Thou shalt eat, but not be satisfied; and thy casting down shall be in the midst of thee; and thou shalt take hold, but shalt not deliver; and that which thou deliverest will I give up to the sword.

¹⁴Συ θελεις τρωγει και δεν θελεις χορταζεσθαι, και η πεινα σου θελει εισθαι εν μεσω σου και θελεις φυγει αλλα δεν θελεις διασωσει, και ο, τι διεσωσας, θελω παραδωσει εις την ρομφαιαν.

¹⁵Thou shalt sow, but thou shalt not reap; thou shalt tread the olives, but thou shalt not anoint thee with oil; and sweet wine, but shalt not drink wine.

¹⁵Συ θελεις σπειρει και δεν θελεις θερισει συ θελεις πιεσει ελαιας και δεν θελεις αλειφθη με ελαιον, και γλευκος και δεν θελεις πιει οινον.

¹⁶For the statutes of Omri are kept, and all the works of the house of Ahab, and ye walk in their counsels; that I should make thee a desolation, and the inhabitants thereof an hissing: therefore ye shall bear the reproach of my people.

¹⁶Διοτι εφυλαχθησαν τα διαταγματα του Αμρι και παντα τα εργα του οικου του Αχααβ και επορευθητε εν ταις βουλαις αυτων δια να σε παραδωσω εις αφανισμον και τους κατοικους αυτης εις συριγμον και θελετε βαστασει το ονειδος του λαου μου.
