1Now Korah, the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, and Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, and On, the son of Peleth, sons of Reuben, took men:
1[] Ο δε Κορε ο υιος του Ισααρ, υιου του Κααθ, υιου του Λευι, και Δαθαν και Αβειρων οι υιοι του Ελιαβ, και Ων ο υιος του Φαλεθ, υιοι Ρουβην, εστασιασαν,
2And they rose up before Moses, with certain of the children of Israel, two hundred and fifty princes of the assembly, famous in the congregation, men of renown:
2και εσηκωθησαν εναντιον του Μωυσεως μετα διακοσιων πεντηκοντα ανθρωπων εκ των υιων Ισραηλ, αρχηγων της συναγωγης, συγκλητων της βουλης, ανδρων ονομαστων·
3And they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto them, Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the LORD is among them: wherefore then lift ye up yourselves above the congregation of the LORD?
3και συνηχθησαν εναντιον του Μωυσεως και εναντιον του Ααρων και ειπον προς αυτους, Αρκει εις εσας, διοτι πασα η συναγωγη, παντες ειναι αγιοι και ο Κυριος ειναι μεταξυ αυτων· και δια τι υψονεσθε υπερανω της συναγωγης του Κυριου;
4And when Moses heard it, he fell upon his face:
4Ακουσας δε ο Μωυσης επεσε κατα προσωπον αυτου·
5And he spake unto Korah and unto all his company, saying, Even to morrow the LORD will show who are his, and who is holy; and will cause him to come near unto him: even him whom he hath chosen will he cause to come near unto him.
5και ελαλησε προς τον Κορε και προς πασαν την συνοδιαν αυτου, λεγων, Το πρωι θελει φανερωσει ο Κυριος ποιοι ειναι αυτου και ποιος αγιος και θελει καμει αυτον να πλησιαση εις αυτον· και οντινα εξελεξε, τουτον θελει καμει να πλησιαση εις αυτον.
6This do; Take you censers, Korah, and all his company;
6Τουτο καμετε, Λαβετε εις εαυτους θυμιατηρια, ο Κορε και πασα η συνοδια αυτου·
7And put fire therein, and put incense in them before the LORD to morrow: and it shall be that the man whom the LORD doth choose, he shall be holy: ye take too much upon you, ye sons of Levi.
7και βαλετε επ' αυτα πυρ και επιθεσατε θυμιαμα επ' αυτα ενωπιον του Κυριου αυριον· και ο ανθρωπος τον οποιον εκλεξη ο Κυριος, ουτος θελει εισθαι αγιος. Αρκει εις εσας, υιοι Λευι.
8And Moses said unto Korah, Hear, I pray you, ye sons of Levi:
8Και ειπεν ο Μωυσης προς τον Κορε, Ακουσατε τωρα, υιοι Λευι.
9Seemeth it but a small thing unto you, that the God of Israel hath separated you from the congregation of Israel, to bring you near to himself to do the service of the tabernacle of the LORD, and to stand before the congregation to minister unto them?
9Μικρον πραγμα ειναι τουτο εις εσας, οτι εξεχωρισεν εσας ο Θεος του Ισραηλ απο της συναγωγης του Ισραηλ, δια να σας φερη πλησιον αυτου να καμνητε την υπηρεσιαν της σκηνης του Κυριου και να στεκησθε εμπροσθεν της συναγωγης, δια να υπηρετητε εις αυτους;
10And he hath brought thee near to him, and all thy brethren the sons of Levi with thee: and seek ye the priesthood also?
10και αφου σε εφερε πλησιον εαυτου και παντας τους αδελφους σου τους υιους Λευι μετα σου, σεις ζητειτε και την ιερατειαν;
11For which cause both thou and all thy company are gathered together against the LORD: and what is Aaron, that ye murmur against him?
11ουτω καμνεις, συ και πασα η συνοδια σου, οιτινες εισθε συνηθροισμενοι εναντιον του Κυριου· και ο Ααρων τις ειναι, ωστε να γογγυζητε εναντιον αυτου;
12And Moses sent to call Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab: which said, We will not come up:
12[] Και εστειλεν ο Μωυσης να καλεση τον Δαθαν και τον Αβειρων τους υιους Ελιαβ· οι δε ειπον, Δεν αναβαινομεν·
13Is it a small thing that thou hast brought us up out of a land that floweth with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, except thou make thyself altogether a prince over us?
13μικρον ειναι τουτο, οτι ανηγαγες ημας εκ γης ρεουσης γαλα και μελι, δια να θανατωσης ημας εν τη ερημω, και οτι ως αρχων θελεις να κατεξουσιαζης ημας;
14Moreover thou hast not brought us into a land that floweth with milk and honey, or given us inheritance of fields and vineyards: wilt thou put out the eyes of these men? we will not come up.
14αλλα συ δεν εφερες ημας εις γην ρεουσαν γαλα και μελι ουδε εδωκας εις ημας κληρονομιαν αγρων και αμπελωνων· τους οφθαλμους των ανθρωπων τουτων θελεις να εκβαλης; δεν αναβαινομεν.
15And Moses was very wroth, and said unto the LORD, Respect not thou their offering: I have not taken one ass from them, neither have I hurt one of them.
15Και εβαρυθυμησεν ο Μωυσης σφοδρα και ειπε προς τον Κυριον, Μη επιβλεψης εις την προσφοραν αυτων· ουδε ενα ονον απ' αυτων ελαβον ουδε εβλαψα τινα εξ αυτων.
16And Moses said unto Korah, Be thou and all thy company before the LORD, thou, and they, and Aaron, to morrow:
16Και ειπεν ο Μωυσης προς τον Κορε, Συ και πασα η συνοδια σου να ησθε ενωπιον του Κυριου, συ, και αυτοι, και ο Ααρων, αυριον·
17And take every man his censer, and put incense in them, and bring ye before the LORD every man his censer, two hundred and fifty censers; thou also, and Aaron, each of you his censer.
17και λαβετε εκαστος το θυμιατηριον αυτου και επιθεσατε θυμιαμα επ' αυτα και φερετε ενωπιον του Κυριου, εκαστος το θυμιατηριον αυτου, διακοσια πεντηκοντα θυμιατηρια· και συ, και ο Ααρων, εκαστος το θυμιατηριον αυτου.
18And they took every man his censer, and put fire in them, and laid incense thereon, and stood in the door of the tabernacle of the congregation with Moses and Aaron.
18Και ελαβον εκαστος το θυμιατηριον αυτου και εβαλον επ' αυτα πυρ, και επεθεσαν επ' αυτα θυμιαμα και εσταθησαν εις την θυραν της σκηνης του μαρτυριου μετα του Μωυσεως και του Ααρων.
19And Korah gathered all the congregation against them unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto all the congregation.
19Και συνηγαγεν εναντιον αυτων ο Κορε πασαν την συναγωγην εις την θυραν της σκηνης του μαρτυριου. Και η δοξα του Κυριου εφανη εις πασαν την συναγωγην.
20And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,
20Και ελαλησε Κυριος προς τον Μωυσην και προς τον Ααρων λεγων,
21Separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment.
21Αποχωρισθητε εκ μεσου της συναγωγης ταυτης, δια να εξαναλωσω αυτους δια μιας.
22And they fell upon their faces, and said, O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin, and wilt thou be wroth with all the congregation?
22Και επεσαν κατα προσωπον αυτων, και ειπον, Ω Θεε, Θεε των πνευματων πασης σαρκος, εις ανθρωπος ημαρτησε και θελεις οργισθη εναντιον πασης της συναγωγης;
23And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
23[] Και ελαλησε Κυριος προς τον Μωυσην, λεγων,
24Speak unto the congregation, saying, Get you up from about the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram.
24Λαλησον προς την συναγωγην, λεγων, Αναχωρησατε απο της σκηνης του Κορε, του Δαθαν και του Αβειρων κυκλοθεν.
25And Moses rose up and went unto Dathan and Abiram; and the elders of Israel followed him.
25Και εσηκωθη ο Μωυσης, και υπηγε προς τον Δαθαν και Αβειρων· και ηκολουθησαν αυτον οι πρεσβυτεροι του Ισραηλ.
26And he spake unto the congregation, saying, Depart, I pray you, from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of theirs, lest ye be consumed in all their sins.
26Και ελαλησε προς την συναγωγην λεγων, Αποχωρισθητε ευθυς απο των σκηνων των ασεβων τουτων ανθρωπων και μη εγγισητε μηδεν εκ των οσα ειναι αυτων, δια να μη αφανισθητε εν μεσω πασων των αμαρτιων αυτων.
27So they gat up from the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram, on every side: and Dathan and Abiram came out, and stood in the door of their tents, and their wives, and their sons, and their little children.
27Ανεχωρησαν λοιπον απο της σκηνης του Κορε, του Δαθαν και του Αβειρων κυκλοθεν· και ο Δαθαν και ο Αβειρων εξηλθον, και εσταθησαν εις την θυραν των σκηνων αυτων και αι γυναικες αυτων και οι υιοι αυτων και αι οικογενειαι αυτων.
28And Moses said, Hereby ye shall know that the LORD hath sent me to do all these works; for I have not done them of mine own mind.
28Και ειπεν ο Μωυσης, Εκ τουτου θελετε γνωρισει οτι ο Κυριος με απεστειλε δια να πραξω παντα τα εργα ταυτα, και οτι δεν επραξα απ' εμαυτου.
29If these men die the common death of all men, or if they be visited after the visitation of all men; then the LORD hath not sent me.
29Εαν οι ανθρωποι ουτοι αποθανωσι τον κοινον θανατον παντων των ανθρωπων, η εαν γεινη ανταποδοσις εις αυτους κατα την ανταποδοσιν παντων των ανθρωπων, δεν με απεστειλεν ο Κυριος·
30But if the LORD make a new thing, and the earth open her mouth, and swallow them up, with all that appertain unto them, and they go down quick into the pit; then ye shall understand that these men have provoked the LORD.
30εαν ομως ο Κυριος καμη θαυμα, και ανοιξη η γη το στομα αυτης και καταπιη αυτους και παντα τα αυτων και καταβωσι ζωντες εις τον αδην, τοτε θελετε γνωρισει οτι παρωξυναν οι ανθρωποι ουτοι τον Κυριον.
31And it came to pass, as he had made an end of speaking all these words, that the ground clave asunder that was under them:
31Και ως επαυσε λαλων παντας τους λογους τουτους, εσχισθη το εδαφος το υποκατω αυτων.
32And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that appertained unto Korah, and all their goods.
32Και η γη ηνοιξε το στομα αυτης και κατεπιεν αυτους και τους οικους αυτων και παντας τους ανθρωπους τους μετα του Κορε και πασαν την περιουσιαν αυτων.
33They, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into the pit, and the earth closed upon them: and they perished from among the congregation.
33Και κατεβησαν αυτοι και παντα τα αυτων ζωντες εις τον αδην, και η γη εκλεισθη επανωθεν αυτων· και ηφανισθησαν εκ μεσου της συναγωγης.
34And all Israel that were round about them fled at the cry of them: for they said, Lest the earth swallow us up also.
34Και πας ο Ισραηλ ο περιξ αυτων εφυγον εις την βοην αυτων, λεγοντες, Μηπως καταπιη και ημας η γη.
35And there came out a fire from the LORD, and consumed the two hundred and fifty men that offered incense.
35[] Και πυρ εξηλθε παρα Κυριου και κατεφαγε τους διακοσιους πεντηκοντα ανδρας τους προσφεροντας το θυμιαμα.
36And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
36Και ελαλησε Κυριος προς τον Μωυσην λεγων,
37Speak unto Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, that he take up the censers out of the burning, and scatter thou the fire yonder; for they are hallowed.
37Ειπε προς τον Ελεαζαρ τον υιον Ααρων του ιερεως, να λαβη τα θυμιατηρια απο της πυρκαιας και το πυρ σκορπισον εκει· διοτι ειναι ηγιασμενα,
38The censers of these sinners against their own souls, let them make them broad plates for a covering of the altar: for they offered them before the LORD, therefore they are hallowed: and they shall be a sign unto the children of Israel.
38τα θυμιατηρια τουτων των αμαρτησαντων εναντιον εις τας ψυχας αυτων· και ας καμωσιν αυτα πλακας δια καλυμμα του θυσιαστηριου· επειδη ουτοι προσεφεραν αυτα ενωπιον του Κυριου, δια τουτο ειναι ηγιασμενα· και θελουσιν εισθαι δια σημειον εις τους υιους Ισραηλ.
39And Eleazar the priest took the brazen censers, wherewith they that were burnt had offered; and they were made broad plates for a covering of the altar:
39Και ελαβεν Ελεαζαρ ο ιερευς τα χαλκινα θυμιατηρια, τα οποια προσεφεραν οι καυθεντες· και εκαμον αυτα πλακας δια να καλυψωσι το θυσιαστηριον·
40To be a memorial unto the children of Israel, that no stranger, which is not of the seed of Aaron, come near to offer incense before the LORD; that he be not as Korah, and as his company: as the LORD said to him by the hand of Moses.
40προς μνημοσυνον εις τους υιους Ισραηλ, ωστε μηδεις αλλογενης, μη ων εκ του σπερματος του Ααρων, να μη πλησιαζη δια να προσφερη θυμιαμα ενωπιον του Κυριου, δια να μη γεινη ως ο Κορε και ως η συνοδια αυτου, καθως ειπε Κυριος προς αυτον δια χειρος του Μωυσεως.
41But on the morrow all the congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron, saying, Ye have killed the people of the LORD.
41[] Την δε ακολουθον ημεραν πασα η συναγωγη των υιων Ισραηλ εγογγυσαν εναντιον του Μωυσεως και του Ααρων, λεγοντες, Σεις εφονευσατε τον λαον του Κυριου.
42And it came to pass, when the congregation was gathered against Moses and against Aaron, that they looked toward the tabernacle of the congregation: and, behold, the cloud covered it, and the glory of the LORD appeared.
42Και ενω η συναγωγη ητο συνηθροισμενη εναντιον του Μωυσεως και εναντιον του Ααρων, ανεβλεψαν προς την σκηνην του μαρτυριου, και ιδου, η νεφελη εσκεπασεν αυτην, και εφανη η δοξα του Κυριου.
43And Moses and Aaron came before the tabernacle of the congregation.
43Και ηλθεν ο Μωυσης και ο Ααρων εμπροσθεν της σκηνης του μαρτυριου.
44And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
44Και ελαλησε Κυριος προς τον Μωυσην λεγων·
45Get you up from among this congregation, that I may consume them as in a moment. And they fell upon their faces.
45Αποσυρθητε εκ μεσου της συναγωγης ταυτης, δια να αναλωσω αυτους δια μιας. Και επεσον κατα προσωπον αυτων.
46And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a censer, and put fire therein from off the altar, and put on incense, and go quickly unto the congregation, and make an atonement for them: for there is wrath gone out from the LORD; the plague is begun.
46Και ειπεν ο Μωυσης προς τον Ααρων, Λαβε το θυμιατηριον και βαλε πυρ εις αυτο εκ του θυσιαστηριου και επιθες θυμιαμα και υπαγε ταχεως εις την συναγωγην και καμε εξιλεωσιν υπερ αυτων· διοτι εξηλθεν οργη παρα του Κυριου· η πληγη ηρχισε.
47And Aaron took as Moses commanded, and ran into the midst of the congregation; and, behold, the plague was begun among the people: and he put on incense, and made an atonement for the people.
47Και ελαβε το θυμιατηριον ο Ααρων, καθως ελαλησεν ο Μωυσης, και εδραμεν εις το μεσον της συναγωγης· και ιδου, η πληγη ειχεν αρχισει εν τω λαω· και επεθεσε θυμιαμα και εκαμεν εξιλεωσιν υπερ του λαου.
48And he stood between the dead and the living; and the plague was stayed.
48Και εσταθη αναμεσον των αποθανοντων και των ζωντων, και επαυσεν η θραυσις.
49Now they that died in the plague were fourteen thousand and seven hundred, beside them that died about the matter of Korah.
49Ησαν δε οι αποθανοντες εις την θραυσιν δεκατεσσαρες χιλιαδες και επτακοσιοι, εκτος των αποθανοντων εξ αιτιας του Κορε.
50And Aaron returned unto Moses unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: and the plague was stayed.
50Και επεστρεψεν ο Ααρων προς τον Μωυσην, εις την θυραν της σκηνης του μαρτυριου· και επαυσεν η θραυσις.
