¹Gather yourselves together, yea, gather together, O nation not desired;

¹[] Συναχθητε και συναθροισθητε, το εθνος το μη επιθυμητον,

²Before the decree bring forth, before the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the LORD come upon you, before the day of the LORD's anger come upon you.

²πριν το ψηφισμα γεννηση το αποτελεσμα αυτου και η ημερα παρελθη ως χνους, πριν επελθη εφ' υμας η εξαψις του Κυριου, πριν επελθη εφ' υμας η ημερα του θυμου του Κυριου.

³Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD's anger.

³Ζητειτε τον Κυριον, παντες οι πραεις της γης, οι εκτελεσαντες τας κρισεις αυτου· ζητειτε δικαιοσυνην, ζητειτε πραοτητα, ισως σκεπασθητε εν τη ημερα της οργης του Κυριου.

⁴For Gaza shall be forsaken, and Ashkelon a desolation: they shall drive out Ashdod at the noon day, and Ekron shall be rooted up.

⁴[] Διοτι η Γαζα θελει εγκαταλειφθη και η Ασκαλων θελει ερημωθη· θελουσιν εκδιωξει την Αζωτον εν καιρω μεσημβριας και η Ακκαρων θελει εκριζωθη.

⁵Woe unto the inhabitants of the sea coast, the nation of the Cherethites! the word of the LORD is against you; O Canaan, the land of the Philistines, I will even destroy thee, that there shall be no inhabitant.

⁵Ουαι εις τους κατοικους των παραλιων της θαλασσης, εις το εθνος των Χερεθαιων· ο λογος του Κυριου ειναι εναντιον σας, Χανααν, γη των Φιλισταιων, και θελω σε αφανισει, ωστε να μη υπαρχη ο κατοικων.

⁶And the sea coast shall be dwellings and cottages for shepherds, and folds for flocks.

⁶Και το παραλιον της θαλασσης θελει εισθαι κατοικιαι και σπηλαια ποιμενων και μανδραι ποιμνιων.

⁷And the coast shall be for the remnant of the house of Judah; they shall feed thereupon: in the houses of Ashkelon shall they lie down in the evening: for the LORD their God shall visit them, and turn away their captivity.

⁷Και το παραλιον τουτο θελει εισθαι δια το υπολοιπον του οικου Ιουδα· εκει θελουσι βοσκει· εν τοις οικοις της Ασκαλωνος θελουσι καταλυει το εσπερας· διοτι Κυριος ο Θεος αυτων θελει επισκεφθη αυτους και αποστρεψει την αιχμαλωσιαν αυτων.

⁸I have heard the reproach of Moab, and the revilings of the children of Ammon, whereby they have reproached my people, and magnified themselves against their border.

⁸[] Ηκουσα τους ονειδισμους του Μωαβ και τας υβρεις των υιων Αμμων, δια των οποιων ωνειδιζον τον λαον μου και εμεγαλυνοντο κατα των οριων αυτου.

⁹Therefore as I live, saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Surely Moab shall be as Sodom, and the children of Ammon as Gomorrah, even the breeding of nettles, and saltpits, and a perpetual desolation: the residue of my people shall spoil them, and the remnant of my people shall possess them.

⁹Δια τουτο, Ζω εγω, λεγει ο Κυριος των δυναμεων, ο Θεος του Ισραηλ, εξαπαντος ο Μωαβ θελει εισθαι ως τα Σοδομα και οι υιοι Αμμων ως τα Γομορρα, τοπος κνιδων και αλυκαι και παντοτεινη ερημωσις· το υπολοιπον του λαου μου θελει λαφυραγωγησει αυτους και το υπολοιπον του εθνους μου θαλει κατακληρονομησει αυτους.

¹⁰This shall they have for their pride, because they have reproached and magnified themselves against the people of the LORD of hosts.

¹⁰Τουτο θελει γεινει εις αυτους δια την υπερηφανιαν αυτων, διοτι ωνειδισαν και εμεγαλυνθησαν κατα του λαου του Κυριου των δυναμεων.

¹¹The LORD will be terrible unto them: for he will famish all the gods of the earth; and men shall worship him, every one from his place, even all the isles of the heathen.

¹¹Ο Κυριος θελει εισθαι τρομερος εναντιον αυτων, διοτι θελει εξολοθρευσει παντας τους θεους της γης· και θελουσι προσκυνησει αυτον, εκαστος εκ του τοπου αυτου, πασαι αι νησοι των εθνων.

¹²Ye Ethiopians also, ye shall be slain by my sword.

¹²[] Και σεις, Αιθιοπες, θελετε διαπερασθη δια της ρομφαιας μου.

¹³And he will stretch out his hand against the north, and destroy Assyria; and will make Nineveh a desolation, and dry like a wilderness.

¹³Και θελει εκτεινει την χειρα αυτου κατα του βορρα και αφανισει την Ασσυριαν, και θελει καταστησει την Νινευη εις αφανισμον, τοπον ανυδρον ως η ερημος.

¹⁴And flocks shall lie down in the midst of her, all the beasts of the nations: both the cormorant and the bittern shall lodge in the upper lintels of it; their voice shall sing in the windows; desolation shall be in the thresholds; for he shall uncover the cedar work.

¹⁴Και ποιμνια θελουσι βοσκεσθαι εν μεσω αυτης, παντα τα ζωα των εθνων· και ο πελεκαν και ο ακανθοχοιρος θελουσι κατοικει εν τοις ανωφλιοις αυτης· η φωνη αυτων θελει ηχησει εις τα παραθυρα· ερημωσις θελει εισθαι εν ταις πυλαις, διοτι θελει γυμνωθη απο των κεδρινων εργων.

¹⁵This is the rejoicing city that dwelt carelessly, that said in her heart, I am, and there is none beside me: how is she become a desolation, a place for beasts to lie down in! every one that passeth by her shall hiss, and wag his hand.

¹⁵Αυτη ειναι η ευφραινομενη πολις, η κατοικουσα αμεριμνως, η λεγουσα εν τη καρδια αυτης, Εγω ειμαι και δεν ειναι αλλη εκτος εμου. Πως κατεσταθη ερημος, καταλυμα θηριων· πας ο διαβαινων δι' αυτης θελει συριξει και κινησει την χειρα αυτου.
