¹Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the house.

¹Setelah Raja Salomo selesai berdoa, api turun dari langit membakar kurban-kurban yang dipersembahkan kepada TUHAN. Lalu cahaya kehadiran TUHAN memenuhi Rumah TUHAN itu,

²And the priests could not enter into the house of the LORD, because the glory of the LORD had filled the LORD's house.

²sehingga para imam tak dapat memasukinya.

³And when all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the LORD upon the house, they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and worshipped, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.

³Ketika rakyat Israel melihat api turun dari langit dan cahaya kehadiran TUHAN memenuhi Rumah TUHAN, mereka tersungkur di lantai lalu menyembah serta memuji Allah, karena Ia baik dan kasih-Nya kekal abadi.

⁴Then the king and all the people offered sacrifices before the LORD.

⁴Setelah itu Raja Salomo dan semua orang yang berkumpul di situ mempersembahkan kurban kepada TUHAN.

⁵And king Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty and two thousand oxen, and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep: so the king and all the people dedicated the house of God.

⁵Untuk kurban perdamaian Salomo mempersembahkan 22.000 sapi dan 120.000 domba. Demikianlah raja dan seluruh rakyat mengadakan upacara penyerahan rumah ibadat itu kepada TUHAN.

⁶And the priests waited on their offices: the Levites also with instruments of music of the LORD, which David the king had made to praise the LORD, because his mercy endureth for ever, when David praised by their ministry; and the priests sounded trumpets before them, and all Israel stood.

⁶Para imam berdiri pada tempat yang ditetapkan bagi mereka; berhadapan dengan orang Lewi yang memuji TUHAN dengan alat-alat musik yang dibuat oleh Raja Daud, sambil menyanyikan nyanyian "Kasih-Nya Kekal Abadi!" sesuai dengan anjuran Daud. Para imam meniup trompet sementara seluruh rakyat berdiri.

⁷Moreover Solomon hallowed the middle of the court that was before the house of the LORD: for there he offered burnt offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings, because the brazen altar which Solomon had made was not able to receive the burnt offerings, and the meat offerings, and the fat.

⁷Lalu bagian tengah dari pelataran yang di depan rumah ibadat itu diserahkan Salomo kepada TUHAN. Kemudian ia mempersembahkan di situ kurban bakaran, kurban gandum dan lemak binatang untuk kurban perdamaian. Semua itu dipersembahkannya di situ karena mezbah perunggu yang telah dibuatnya terlalu kecil untuk semua persembahan itu.

⁸Also at the same time Solomon kept the feast seven days, and all Israel with him, a very great congregation, from the entering in of Hamath unto the river of Egypt.

⁸Salomo dan seluruh umat Israel mengadakan perayaan Pondok Daun selama tujuh hari. Sangat besar jumlah orang yang berkumpul untuk perayaan itu. Mereka datang dari daerah sejauh Jalan Hamat di utara sampai ke perbatasan Mesir di selatan.

⁹And in the eighth day they made a solemn assembly: for they kept the dedication of the altar seven days, and the feast seven days.

⁹Tujuh hari lamanya mereka berkumpul untuk upacara peresmian mezbah TUHAN, kemudian tujuh hari lagi untuk perayaan Pondok Daun. Pada hari terakhir diadakan perayaan penutupan,

¹⁰And on the three and twentieth day of the seventh month he sent the people away into their tents, glad and merry in heart for the goodness that the LORD had showed unto David, and to Solomon, and to Israel his people.

¹⁰dan keesokan harinya, pada tanggal 23 bulan tujuh, Salomo menyuruh orang-orang itu pulang. Mereka gembira atas semua yang baik yang dilakukan TUHAN kepada bangsa Israel umat-Nya, kepada Daud dan kepada Salomo.

¹¹Thus Solomon finished the house of the LORD, and the king's house: and all that came into Solomon's heart to make in the house of the LORD, and in his own house, he prosperously effected.

¹¹Setelah Salomo berhasil menyelesaikan pembangunan Rumah TUHAN dan istana raja sesuai dengan rencananya,

¹²And the LORD appeared to Solomon by night, and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for an house of sacrifice.

¹²TUHAN menampakkan diri lagi kepadanya pada waktu malam. TUHAN berkata kepadanya, "Doamu sudah Kudengar dan Aku menerima rumah ini sebagai tempat yang khusus untuk mempersembahkan kurban bagi-Ku.

¹³If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;

¹³Apabila Aku tidak menurunkan hujan atau Aku mengirim belalang untuk menghabiskan hasil bumi atau mendatangkan wabah penyakit ke atas umat-Ku,

¹⁴If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

¹⁴lalu umat-Ku yang memakai nama-Ku itu merendahkan diri, dan berdoa serta datang kepada-Ku dan meninggalkan perbuatan mereka yang jahat, maka dari surga Aku akan mendengar doa mereka. Aku akan mengampuni dosa-dosa mereka dan menjadikan negeri mereka makmur kembali.

¹⁵Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.

¹⁵Aku akan terus memperhatikan Rumah-Ku ini dan siap mendengar semua doa yang dipanjatkan dari tempat ini.

¹⁶For now have I chosen and sanctified this house, that my name may be there for ever: and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.

¹⁶Semuanya itu akan Kulakukan karena tempat ini telah Kupilih dan Kukhususkan menjadi tempat ibadat kepada-Ku untuk selama-lamanya. Aku akan memperhatikannya dan melindunginya sepanjang masa.

¹⁷And as for thee, if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, and do according to all that I have commanded thee, and shalt observe my statutes and my judgments;

¹⁷Jikalau engkau, seperti Daud ayahmu, hidup menurut kehendak-Ku dan taat kepada hukum-hukum-Ku serta melakukan semua yang Kuperintahkan kepadamu,

¹⁸Then will I stablish the throne of thy kingdom, according as I have covenanted with David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man to be ruler in Israel.

¹⁸maka Aku akan menepati janji-Ku kepada ayahmu Daud bahwa selalu akan ada seorang dari keturunannya yang menjadi raja di Israel.

¹⁹But if ye turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments, which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them;

¹⁹Tetapi kalau engkau dan rakyatmu melanggar hukum-hukum dan perintah-perintah-Ku, serta menyembah ilah-ilah lain,

²⁰Then will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have sanctified for my name, will I cast out of my sight, and will make it to be a proverb and a byword among all nations.

²⁰maka Aku akan mengeluarkan kamu dari negeri yang telah Kuberikan kepadamu. Aku juga akan meninggalkan rumah ini yang telah Kutetapkan menjadi tempat ibadat kepada-Ku. Di mana-mana rumah ini akan dihina dan ditertawakan.

²¹And this house, which is high, shall be an astonishment to every one that passeth by it; so that he shall say, Why hath the LORD done thus unto this land, and unto this house?

²¹Rumah ibadat ini sekarang sangat dihormati, tapi pada waktu itu setiap orang yang lewat di situ akan heran melihatnya. Mereka akan berkata, 'Mengapa TUHAN berbuat begitu terhadap negeri dan rumah ini?'

²²And it shall be answered, Because they forsook the LORD God of their fathers, which brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods, and worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath he brought all this evil upon them.

²²Lalu orang akan menjawab, 'Karena mereka meninggalkan TUHAN, Allah mereka, yang telah mengantar leluhur mereka keluar dari Mesir. Mereka menyembah dan berjanji setia kepada ilah-ilah lain. Itulah sebabnya TUHAN mendatangkan bencana ini ke atas mereka.'"
